On 4/8/24 I made an appointment for 12pm online for the Navy Yard location to open up a new account. I had gone to the Alabama Avenue branch initially and was told that new accounts needed to schedule an appointment and I was referred to the Wells Fargo website to scout locations that had appointments for that day - which is how I landed at the Navy Yard location. I arrived on time and was told that the banking person I had the appointment with was at the Capitol Hill location for the day. I NEVER received a call or a text notifying me the appointment was cancelled so I asked if I could proceeded to the Capitol Hill location - which wasn't far - and I was told NO. Excuse me?! Well can I reschedule for the 1pm at the Capitol Hill location? NO. WTFH?!! What's the point of making me setup an appointment that you won't keep? To the Navy Yard onsite person's credit he did offer to take my information to set up the account later but who does that?!! Uhmm, that's a NO for me. I then asked if they validate parking because I had to park in the garage. NO. After being told NO too many times, I sat in the lobby and called other nearby banks to see if appointments were necessary to open up an account because I didn't have all day to go bank-to-bank nor the $ for parking. PNC Bank for the win! For those who want to know WHY I didn't do it online ? Because of the account type, and WHY did I choose Wells Fargo? Because it was recommended for the type of account I needed. Wells Fargo - 0 PNC - 1 Would I recommend Wells Fargo? NO

If you’re not a rich white person don’t waste your time banking here. They will harass you about collecting your money and will have you waiting patiently until then

Completely useless and terrible bank. Should avoid at all costs... Wells Fargo, for that matter.

As banks go, my experience here was very good. On both recent visits there were at least two tellers there to serve customers and the lines moved relatively quickly. Both tellers I worked with were very personable and helpful in solving the very unusual issue I was there to sort out. Overall, I was very satisfied with my visits here. It seems that Wells Fargo has really upped its customer service game in the wake of the scandals that have plagued the bank in recent years.

I don't have a Wells Fargo account, and I'm not from DC, but I would like to share an experience with the manager of this location. I live in MD, and I was out in DC with my friends when late one night I lost my wallet with cash and other personal belongings in it. I searched for hours that night and accepted that it was stolen and gone. Later that week I received a call from Bank of America saying that Jareem found my wallet and took it over to them so they could find me. Through communication and Jareem's efforts I got my wallet back. It just goes to show his honesty, and good heart.

This place is GARBAGE. I deposited a checked at an atm but it would not let me withdraw cash because my account was overdrawn to begin with but I deposited tenfold what was overdrawn and then some. I came to this branch for assistance and it was a complete WASTE OF TIME. The clerk was a deer in headlights about what they could do to "help me" because I had an early trip the next day and needed to run errands. The manager was just as idiotic. Little did they know my father in law is a vp for wells and he gave me a better route of action. It is a check from my job so why is it so hard for them to free up half my check? They clearly just did not want to do more than lift a finger. If you need real help go else where.

Expect long wait times, even if there are few customers. I came right when they opened, was the first customer in the door, and still had to wait 45 minutes to be helped. The person claimed she was the only person there who could help me and was with another customer, but that really couldn't be true unless she took someone back that came in after me and helped them first instead of me. What a time waste. The service I needed will literally take less than 5 minutes....if they ever get around to helping me.

The customer service at this Wells Fargo location is pretty good, mainly because I've never had to wait to talk to somebody. They always have a lot of staff here. I have an account through Wells Fargo, but generally only deal with them online. They were able to settle my account issue very quickly, but they can actually access anything about my account since it's all online. That's not really that helpful. This location is much cleaner and orderly compared to the Bank of America on the same block.
