We’ve made the mistake of having several accounts at WF for far too long. My guess is that we visit the branch about 1 to 2 times per year since 2015 and one thing can be guaranteed: sloppy “service”. Yesterday, I went in to the branch, as I had a confirmed appointment, which was made over a month ago. The appointment was necessary to review options for a CD that was maturing. As per usual, my experience was pitiful. I’ve dreaded my visit to the bank for a week, knowing that it would be a headache full of mistakes at best, as per usual. Knowing that this particular branch often has unqualified staff, I had made the appointment specifically with Cynthia, the manager. Sadly, it took Cynthia over 90 minutes in her attempt to open a new CD for me, as the computer system she was working with, continued to lock her out. We went through the process of signing and pressing multiple buttons over and over and over. Cynthia changed terminals only to find the same issue. 90 minutes in, I asked if there was a water dispenser or coffee pot as they had those in the past and I was told no. I then asked if I could wash my hands in the ladies’s room and I was informed that there is no customer restroom.. Keep in mind that this entire process, which I had a scheduled appointment for, should take no more than 25 minutes. While Cynthia tried to figure out a solution, I walked across the street to CVS for a bottle of water, as it was an 80 degree day. Upon returning, now 2 hours past my appointment time, I was informed that they couldn’t help me and that they could squeeze me in for a return appointment next week. Two hours and zero was accomplished. What a colossal waste of my time. I opted to close my account and asked for a cashiers check, which I swiftly walked across the street to PNC Bank, where they were more than happy to accommodate me without an appointment. PNC staff quickly acknowledged me, offered me a restroom and a bottle of water when I arrived at 4:10 on a busy Friday afternoon. PNC accomplished the CD purchase, with excellent rates in under 30 minutes. Clearly, PNC valued me and my substantial deposit, when Wells Fargo didn’t value either. Wells Fargo must be doing quite well to scoff at the sum I withdrew. Sadly, this has been a long time coming and it was my mistake to think Wells Fargo was suddenly going to improve after years of abysmal service.

So far downsized that they cannot really help people. Came in to open an account ... there are 5 people working the front, but there is only one person that can help you and they are busy .... so be prepared to wait and wait and wait. And ... if you are handicapped ... forget about it. This building really has no access ... it will take a long time just to negotiate getting into the building

I came here to have my ID verified for a credit card application. I presented my driver’s license, but the staff member who assisted me forgot to return it after making a copy. When I called later, they confirmed that the driver’s license was at the bank, so I visited again to pick it up. I had to wait for a long time without any apology, and then they just handed back my driver’s license while saying, “Have a good one.”

The tellers are very patient and overworked; branch staffing needs to be better coordinated. Very disappointing customer service. The process of getting to the safety deposit box had changed again. Waited on line (15 minutes) to get the teller to go and open the safe deposit area...then told I had to look at contents in a separate room. I uploaded picture of first room; I had to use the 2nd room after closing the shades. I felt bad for the teller--they were short staffed as two of the "bankers" had called out sick. I wanted to leave my keys with the teller so I would not have to come back but was told I had to make an appointment with a banker and come back. I left the keys on the counter and told the teller that I did not need them anymore as I did not intend to come back. In the interim I also had to calm down an older gentleman who became very upset when he was told there was no one there to help him and he could get the services he needed at another nearby Wells Fargo...sort of defeats the purpose of banking locally.

Today I visited the 5701 Connecticut Avenue NW branch for the second time, the first time to deposit a check and the second time to get a cashier's check. Both times the teller I spoke with did not know how to do it, and no one at the branch was senior enough to authorize it. Both times they said they had to call another branch (where apparently no one was authorized the either) so they told me to wait another 45 minutes or use the atm. The second time I didn't stick around long enough for them to continue wasting my time. Save yourself the trouble.

Terrible service. I have to make a special trip to Connecticut Avenue branch to correct their error. After promising to call me this morning, banker failed to call. The Do not advise doing businesses with WelsFEgo

Worst service ever. I was on the drive through line for more than 10 minutes, and not one car moved. People left without being helped, and so did I.

Excellent experience here. I was closing an account and was getting a new card for my shared account and the guy was really helpful. He was funny and charming. Great customer service!

Always have a great experience here. I've been banking with Wells Fargo for a while now and today I made the mistake of going to a different branch and had a very bad experience with a few of their employees. At this location I've always encountered very friendly people. Today the problem that I had at the other branch was easily fixed by a very helpful and friendly person, which was all that had to happen at the other branch I had the misfortune of working with. Thank you for your help and for fixing a very frustrating problem that employees at another branch had no interest whatsoever in fixing.

Disappointed by their customer service. I didn't know if my balance is low I can't have available 400 dollars automatically on my account. Very sad, they didn't give you a solution. I will close my account and another bank with courteous employees and little fee and no limit needed on an account.
