Just back from Sea Colony tennis. It was a group of four of us , and I can’t say enough great things about the facility. Everyone is extremely helpful. We have been going to tennis camp for several years , and without question Alex is an incredible coach . Book tennis camp you will love it!

Good facility, but had a bad experience with some management in the pro shop. When asking for help she ignored us at first and then barely answered questions while still looking at her laptop. Guess she wasn’t supposed to be helping the regular rabble in the shop. But this was clearly her domain to rule over. She should stay in some back office and not allowed to mix with the public. The young girl behind the desk gave us a sheepish look as she seemed embarrassed by this woman’s behavior as well.

I have very mixed impressions of Sea Colony tennis. The facilities themselves are great, and would merit 5 stars. The big drawback concerns the clinics. The problem is that the coaches hog court time, even when there are many participants.A simple example: if you have six paying participants, and the coach stays on the court for the full hour, each of the participants will play for only half the time. If the coaches stayed off the court, the six players would each be playing for 2/3 of the time.To distract from the lack of playing time, the clinics are set up to move players from court to court after every two points. This creates an additional problem: it makes it even harder to get into a rhythm. It's as though the clinics were designed with the primary purpose of maximizing playing time for the coaches.I don't blame the coaches themselves; they're mostly just college kids, fabulous tennis players, who are running clinics the way they've been told to do so.But I do fault the leadership, for running the clinics this way.The whole operation could easily be a five star center, but not until it starts prioritizing the playing time of paying participants over that of the coaches.

The coaches were very insightful and confident. The courts and lounge were nice.

I've been coming to Sea Colony every year with my daughter for 15 years, and coming to the Sea Colony tennis center for just as long. I love the tennis facilities and program. The tennis pros (at least in the summer) are typically college-level players, which means that they are unbelievable at tennis, and they also have great personalities. It's worth checking out one of their exhibition matches as well as hitting the clinics; you'll be dazzled by the athleticism. The clinics are well run, lots of fun, and limited to six students per court, so that there's very little down-time. The pace is always fast and varied, with brief water breaks at appropriate points, so every clinic is a good workout. Kudos to Thomas, who I think has been the head tennis pro since I've been coming here, for making this place what it is. On my most recent visit (May 2022), I had lessons with a couple of players who play for nearby Salisbury University, Gavin and Russell, and they were awesome. But really, I've never had a clinic with a coach that I didn't like. Tennis aficionados will have a blast at Sea Colony. Nick Isbell
