I have an insight home. I have lived here for 11 years. I moved in when it was new. Since I have been here I have replaced all the appliances. The ac/ heating unit. The windows. Had a disagreement over the cracks in the foundation and now have roof issues. What did insight cover on all of these issues. ZERO. Nothing is ever there responsibility. Even though it says in the handy dandy book that they will cover windows they did not. My advise. Have a thorough home inspection before buying. The roof issues were caused by workmanship.

My biggest advice I can give to you is DO NOT go to settlement until everything is fixed, we have waited over one year for a kitchen cabinet and other repairs and they didn't do them willingly, and when they try to rush you through your walk through, don't let them, they will deny any further work after that first walk thru, once they have your check, they do not care about you or your home, so be sure to get it all done in advance. I've read other reviews and so much that I read is the same as our story. Nice home, but beware, a year later we should not be dealing with these issues.

We started our journey with insight homes in december of 2019 and we took possession of our home on June 26,2023. Our Insight Homes sales agent, Dave, made our buying experience as difficult as possible. Each time we selected a lot and arranged to see it, Dave came up with reasons why they were no longer available for sale. After several losses, he revealed that he could hold a lot if we made a deposit. This did not help because on day 5, after giving the deposit, Dave recommended that we take our deposit back. Lots are not held longer than 4 days. We instructed him to hold on to the deposit and to find another lot. After completing paperwork on a lot, Dave called sadly apologizing for the loss of that lot to another agent and this phase of the development was completely sold out and we would have to wait for another building phase to begin and he could not tell us when that would begin. Before hanging up, we inquired about the demographics in the community. Dave called back with the good news another sales agent's client pulled out so we had a lot. There was one caveat. Richard Miller, their mortgage broker, assessed we were only eligible to buy on the contingency of our home being listed for sale and sold within a 15 day deadline. We complied and we were approved for a mortgage providing we get Miller's approval first before going over the budget he set for us to spend at the design center. We set our own budget and ignored his.Two years into the contract and with no firm date to start to build, Dave said he had to cancel our contract because Insight Homes was no longer doing contingency sales. Our wonderful real estate broker, Julie Gritton of Coldwell Banker, put a stop to that. Dave misinformed us about upgrades and admittedly intentionally neglected to tell us about others to spare us the disappointment of not being financially capable of obtaining them. How sweet! In 2022 Insight Homes' president, after many failed start dates, presented us with a rude offer to cancel our contract if we were tired of waiting, after we voiced our concerns to him about the delays. We also got an opportunity to start building almost immediately for $35,000 more but in another community with a more prestigious zip code. We Refused. Called a lawyer and Insight Homes began building.I have omitted the many other issues. One that I will include, and then end my review, is the loss of our one year rate lock. This resulted in our closing with a 6.99% interest rate instead of 4.75% and my anxiety from experiencing Richard Miller shamefully casting doubt on our ability to now afford our home at the higher interest rate. Although my husband and our financial adviser assured me we could afford 15%, If it came to that which was unlikely, I was shaken by what I believed was a last ditch effort to find a reason to cancel our contract. We did the rate lock with the assurance, by Richard Miller, that Insight Homes was going to starting building within a month of taking out the rate lock. Based on his self proclaimed inside information Miller said he gets at the weekly builders'/ construction meetings he attends, and his commitment to personally advocate on our behalf to get the building started and finished before the rate lock expired, we mistakenly trusted him. We are in our home and we love it. It is beautiful. Our neighbors are great. The location of our community, Hawthorne, is ideal. I am not sure what will happen down the line but hope my optimism is not misplaced.

We're in the beginning stages of building our 1,500sq ft home in Ingram Village. Our selections have been made, but I wanted to make a revision. Instead of carpet in the living room & hallway, I want vinyl flooring. They game me a price of $6,000!! Are you kidding me? I asked if they wouldn't put the carpet down, that I would lay the flooring myself. Nope!!! I'm gonna try asking the supervisors. This is ridiculous! We'll see what happens

We are now out of warranty but have had roof issues from day one. On the first day we moved in it was raining and we had a water leak in out living room from the roof. The repair man came to the house a few days later and said he had repaired the leak at the rear vent stack, two years later the leak was back and some shingles had blown off of the roof and one of the flashings had become loose during the storm, we hired a company and they did a roof inspection and discovered that the rear vent stack had never been repaired properly by putting it under the shingles it had just been sealed around the edges,When I walked my dog after the storm I could not help but to notice several houses in the community has flashing hanging loose, ALL OF THEM INSIGHT HOMES.We again have some flashing that has blown off, I always give companies the opportunity satisfy me in their product but at this point Insight Homes has no interest in addressing this concern.I do realize that we are beyond or warranty but this is an issue that is simply poor workmanship from the start.

Insight has been a disappointment since day one. Their warranty department has not been helpful. Bubbles in the ceiling are suppose to be the owners responsibility, So I'm suppose to climb on the roof to check for leaks. This was suppose to be our dream home - It has been a nightmare. Workmanship is sloppy. Kitchen cabinets are poorly installed. Doors that should have been sanded have rough edges. The stairs leading to the patio are full of cracks, knots, and haven't seen a sander so there are lots of splinters and Insight has no problem with the shoddy workmanship. Deluxe Vinyl floors were poorly installed. Homes build post pandemic seem to have the most issues. Still trying to figure out why a home with a second floor doesn't have 2 zoned air-conditioning. The loft area is unlivable in the summer heat. Insight claims to build a better home. Better than what? If I knew then what I know now I would never have dealt with Insight. They haven't stood behind their product and once they make the sale, they seem to just move on to the next sale. Selling is all they seem to care about - not Building a Better Home.

Our AC unit is not cooling our house below 79 degrees. The warranty company has told us that this is fine. I find it not acceptable I don’t even keep the house at that temp during the winter so why would I want my house at that temp during the summer. It needs to be fixed!! No one’s house should be that hot in the summer and I believe our unit is too small for our house. Do not buy with them they only choose to fix things that they want to. This has been a on going issue for the past few years. I should not have to foot the bill to have this issue fixed when it’s under warranty.Service: Home building

Such poor quality . We bought our home in 2014. First there were no electrical rods at our home. We had multiple issues because if this. Now our ceiling lights are falling. So far we have had three fall down. These were all lights that they installed. This morning the whole electrical box came out. Such terrible work. I thank goodness no one was in these rooms at the time. Our family lives here, there are children here. They need to start caring about how they build their homes.Service: Home building

Quality builder - good people to work with. House items are in short supply so choices were limited. When choosing items, it would have help immensely if pictures of items avaliable were given in advance.

Insight advertises their community building in Hawthorne as award winning but as a resident I will tell you the workout room equipment is junk. Insight purchased residential not commercial machines for their "award winning" community building that, after two years of minimal use, are starting to breaking down. Who purchases exercise equipment built for individual use for a development of over 250 homes? I'll tell you who, Insight. If your planning on purchasing in Hawthorne and wanting to work out using the neighborhood exercise equipment, don't move here, it's junk.

We have owned our Insight home in Stonewater Creek for 2 1/2 years. We believe the home is energy efficient and we get almost no dust inside our home. With that being said, we are very disappointed with the finishing work in our home. We have several crooked walls and hundreds of nail pops. At the one year they came back and fixed nail pops but they don't paint after them. So the house looked terrible until we painted ourselves. This is an ongoing problem as we continue to get several nail pops all the time and now it's on us. The trim was done poorly. The walls aren't smooth. We had to repair them before painting. We have a bathroom vanity that has a mark on the side which was there from the settlement walk through. They sent us a marker and told us to fill it in. We did and we still see it. They don't let anybody have things fixed before settlement. You have to go to settlement and then fight to get things fixed. We have mold in our crawlspace and a weird smell. Insight came out and said they didn't notice any smell and we don't have mold. So who is not telling the truth here. We had an outside company come and said there is mold there and it would cost $3,000 to fix it. So we installed our own dehumidifier there which helps with the humidity in the crawl space but doesn't totally fix the problem. Hopefully the mold doesn't get worse. So when they say they build a better house I wonder what other builders build.

We stopped in last summer at Woodlands of Bethany to get info on homes constructed by insight. Janice Fox was the so called sales manager and gave us the sales pitch. After asking some construction questions she could not answer she became rude and irritated and told us we needed to find a builder that would hold our hand. I've been in the construction business for 40 years and told her...no we were looking for a builder who's hand we would not have to hold. She became more rude as I asked more questions so we left. She is in the wrong line of work.
