John Waples Memorial Playground is a clean park with two playgrounds, slides and swings, a huge sandbox with a ton of toys, and a covered gazebo for parents. The area has benches, a water fountain, and a book exchange for story time. Nearby parking and a small nature preserve provide easy access. The park is popular with toddlers and older kids, but there is no shade over the sandbox and no restrooms. Maintenance is needed on some equipment, and more tier chips are required for the play areas under the equipment. There is not much area for a dog.

Great clean park, has a sandbox and are for smaller children. Bonus for the adults, you can hear the band from north beach.Playground: Multiple slides and swings. Nice sandnox.Picnic area: Covered area and benches.
