If you're looking for a swimming pool this y has two indoor; one is laps only and the other is for family swimming. However the work out area and free weight section are old and worn. The ceiling leaks whenever it rains and they set up buckets to catch the water all around the equipment. Dismal. Not worth the money.

Does not accommodate disabled persons, there appears to be be insufficient staff, expensive if all you are using is the gym. Going to be looking for a more ADA friendly facility

Really nice gym, lots of equipment including punching bag and free weights. Nice pools too, with sauna and climbing wall over the water. Little bit pricey at $105 a month for 2 adults. Be nice if they had a gym only pass for cheaper.

My favorite place to workout, sauna, and swim. Awesome friendly staff that is always welcoming! There is such a good community of people that are interested in the same goal of being healthy!

My fiance and I decided to try out the guest passes and see if we wanted to commit to a membership. The front desk was immensely helpful and nice, getting us started. We went to the gym first. We couldn't get our bag to fit into the locker, and a very kind gentleman on staff spotted us and offered to have us store it into the office. He made sure to stress that we tell him when we leave, so he doesn't panic if it's gone. It was very much appreciated by both of us. The machines worked a bit different than the ones we used at our other gym, and he very respectfully asked if he could provide some pointers, which was nice. We don't get that experience elsewhere, so it's nice to know you're actually using it right! We went to the 8 lane pool after, got some swimming in, and then to the sauna by the small pool. We could see kids getting their first swimming lessons, and everyone looked like they were having fun and learning without issue. Overall, I couldn't get over how clean everything was, and how nice everyone was. We are seriously considering the membership. Definitely recommend the place, it was a great time, and you get so much with the membership - even though it might seem expensive.

This is the third time that the membership has not been canceled.I've had this twice with Dover Ymca, and I've paid a total of $400 for two months, $200 each. I got a refund once, and they said the manager would contact me, but they still haven't contacted me for three years.(You can find my previous review). Three years later, the same situation has happened again. I canceled my membership at Dover Ymca, but they charged me for 2 months' membership fee, and they told me to wait for the manager’s contact, but I didn't hear anything from them. This is now their way of doing business, and I think it's almost fraudulent. I'm so stressed out. I'm even frustrated with this way of doing business. I had to wast of my time and money because of this horrible branch.Still, they don’t pick up the phone, ignore my email.

My son was kicked out the kid zone Feb 11th, which was very disappointing. We got there at 10:30 ish and I was pulled from the gym not even 10 min later. The white teacher with purple hair had a attitude and made sure to speak openly and loudly about my son to other employees not even working in the kids zone. It’s was almost like she was looking to embarrass me and my child and make a scene. I had already explained to some of the teachers my sons history so they were very understanding and corrective with his behavior but the new teachers I’ve never seen before had zero tolerance or patience. If they knew my sons history they’d be ashamed of themselves. Front desk Jennifer Vaughn did her duty of preventing me to speak with a supervisor and even gave me a wrong number for a complaint. I specifically asked for the teachers names in the classroom and she told me that it was simply impossible to walk 2ft and ask for their names. Not only this but YMCA upped their prices. So I cancelled my membership.

$25 for a guest fee is outrageously expensive!!! I've been a YMCA member in NJ, CO, NY, FL, and DE. This is the most I've ever witnessed them charging to bring a guest! The staffs response was to sign up for a membership when I was in shock while my mom coughed over her social security money. It's hard to stay healthy when you can't afford to. Shame on you Dover YMCA, shame!!shame!!

A class was canceled without an early notice for the families aside from a written note by the desk that the pool was closed. 2 staff at the desk doing nothing could have called or email the families, saving our time and gas! Also, they did not plan on making up the missed class after an emails from the aquatics manager or head.Such a poor communication and management.

This is a wonderful establishment for families. There are many programs to participate in for people of all ages. I highly recommend Dover YMCA.

I tried taking my two little brothers with me as guest to play basketball and the staff were very rude. I do not recommend this YMCA at all. The worst one I’ve ever been to. The YMCA in Bear, Delaware was much nicer and very welcoming.

Where do I begin.......So I have been a YMCA MEMBER since the mid 80s and never had such a miserable experience with the YMCA. This year has been trying, but the YMCA has not made it easier. Last year, as the pandemic began I realized my bill went up from the YMCA, My wife works for a local hospital and we had a discount that the YMCA gave us for that......when pandemic began, it stopped...no prob. The hours to the YMCA changed, abruptly... No prob. Child watch care center was no more.....ok. No more basketballs were given. Ok. Then the "family pool" closed......alright. so that basically leaves families like mine, with small children, no options to visit the YMCA. I kept my membership in hopes of the YMCA keeping their word, but no. After realizing I hadbeento the YMCA maybe a total of 15 times in the last year, and paid over 1000$ in dues for the facilities to never be what they were, I was disappointed.....so I finally put in for termination of my membership, begrudgingly. I have old ties with the YMCA that kept me wanting to think they cared about the service they provided. But no. My membership is still active, 8 days after my termination request, 8 days after I spoke to Everyone at the branch with my concerns. Nobody cares. Shane, the membership coordinator was not helpful, nor was anyone else. I'm really disappointed. I could go on about the facilities, but I won't. Over it. Just cancel my membership, please. Theis YMCA is a racket and I have been a member in California, Pa, Texas and Delaware ✔️.....and never again will I use any YMCA, as I have the most sour taste, and the worst is that the staff, was not helpful I any way. They must hate their jobs, and I guess that explains why they can get no staff to work here, as they may have 3 regular employees who work there. R

Do not use vending machines here. They will take your money and then the ymca can’t do anything about it and then when you go to contact the vending company they also do not help. Don’t buy anything from their vending machines.
