If you need a reliable, knowledgeable, and caring building contractor – save your time and just call H&H Builders in Dover, DE first! We had a “shopping list” of things we needed/wanted done. Front brick steps were losing bricks and unsafe, so we needed new steps – but – at our age, we wanted a front porch (instead of the steps we’d have to walk down to get to our patio that we had). We now have a beautiful front porch built the way we pictured it. We needed side steps going into our sunroom at the back of the house because ours were wood and 25 years old and getting loose boards, shaky railing, etc. Now we have beautiful new steps and a patio area!
We also needed a new roof – we picked out a color that would go with the porch floor/steps color and the gentleman did a wonderful job. Our foundation had been painted white years ago which made it so much nicer looking – but over time, paint had chipped and the concrete was peeling in places. H&H had someone come out and completely PURGE the foundation – putting on wire and two coats of concrete. It looks great! The house doesn’t even look like it used to and we’ve had many complements on it. We are very happy with it and so glad we went with H&H (they have been in business since 1961, so that says a lot).
The best thing about calling them is the fact that ALL this work done by calling them. We did not have to call in different people (or try to find reliable workers) for each job/area!! That is a BIG PLUS for us.
They have pictures of their work on their Facebook page (just Google ‘H&H Builders’). You can tell that H&H workers take pride in their work to be done right. We are very happy with all they did, and that we had them do the work. Rick, Ray, and Karen are great to work with and very nice. They want to make sure you are happy with your project. They are definitely a 5-star company.
(I apologize that due to health situations, I have not been able to get on the computer and get this review done in the timely manner I wanted to.)

Rick and Ray are second to none in the building construction business! When you add in Karen, their secretary extraordinaire, you have a very winning team! My husband and I are in the construction industry and we have used H&H company a few times. They will not disappoint! In every project there are quirky things that go wrong and yet at every juncture they retained their professionalism, good nature and timeliness! They suck ! Took $1400 cash for blueprint drawing for 150k cash upgrade on a rancher. Never saw or heard from them. One call busy with storm damage. Ok Saw one of builder and ? Him. "Well squeaky wheel gets done " $1400 CASH MARCH 2019, now 2022 Crooks ! Lists & Thieves, probably do shitty work. Still going to squeak on their door. I'll ask Karen to leave first.

My wife and I contracted with H&H to build a screened in porch. Ray, Rick & Karen at H & H were a pleasure to work with. The project is now complete and we couldn’t be happier. The construction crew (Chris, Mike & Gary) were very professional and they kept a very neat work area, cleaning up each day. We love our new porch and look forward to enjoying it for years to come. I am currently having a home built by H&H Builders. From my initial meeting with Rick and Ray I felt very comfortable .The technology for sketching out the first draft happened immediately while I was there in their office. It was a virtual drawing of the plan and we added and changed items without going through a blueprint layout. It gave me a better idea of what the house would look like because I could see it.They offered up ideas which were great and never told me I could not design the house of my dreams the way I wanted it. They are knowledgeable in their work. Everything has been on schedule. The work site is clean and orderly. The workers are professional. I get updates and phone calls keeping me informed of progress because the house is out of state and I cannot always be there to see the progress. It is good to know that you can have faith and confidence in your builder .H&H helped me get my dream accomplished.

Very happy with the screen porch added to my townhouse. Rick and Ray spent a lot of time with me working on the specs to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. The work crew was hardworking and a pleasure to have around, kept things neat and orderly. Work was done on time and within budget. Neighbors are impressed with the workmanship. Highly recommend these builders!
