I took my beautiful black lab there because she swallowed something and had not eaten in several days. After a $1,200.00 assessment including X-rays , I was told there is nothing wrong with her. The next day the emergency vet performed surgery to remove a major obstruction in her intestines!!! Several days later, I returned a case of food they sold me that was not needed and instead of a credit they mistakenly (?) charged me again for the returned food. After several painstakingly made calls, they finally figured it out on the refund. They told me that they would only give me a hospital credit. Unbelievable!!!!! I will never go or endorse that place!!! Throughout this entire journey, I never heard any type of concern for the health and status of my dog!!!

I took my Doberman to this location bc the South location has constantly rude woman at the counter and conflicting diagnose w docs. at the North location the doctor tells me that he hates Dobermans as he has his hands all over mine. He was very short and seemed ready to leave the room. He took fluid from my dog's neck and said it would be two more days for results. I call after three and a girl says they'll be in two weeks. The very next day the doctor calls and says the results are back and inconclusive. My dog died a few short weeks later. I call to speak w Dr Stonesifer, as many suggested, and he asks what exactly is he to do for me. I will never take another pet to either location. So I have no answers and no suggestions, just blown off.

This incident happened in November 2020. I had called Brenford for an emergency situation. My pitbull was having seizure and was not doing good. Once we arrived the staff acted like I had not called and explained the situation to them. The doctor that we saw could clearly see that the dog was in distress and needed assistance. He talked to me and my wife like we had no common sense. He was not professional and had no sense of urgency. He did not make a move to check on our pet or make him comfortable. We had taken our pets there for a few years. No consideration at all. All l in all be careful when you take your pets to this place. They might forget you are a client of theirs. I don't remember the vet name but he was tall and wore glasses. I would not recommend this place .

My dog of 17 years ( he was 18-years-old) became sicker than I had ever seen him. I took him to Brenford where they gave him an IV and took blood tests. The next day they called to tell me how sick he was and what options I had. I made the difficult decision to have him put down. Brenford not only made that as easy as possible, but they have understood my grief. I have gotten a carnation from them and a card signed by everyone with the poem about the Rainbow Bridge enclosed. I cried, but I am so grateful, especially to Mia! Thank you for your compassion!

My dog is my family and pet care is expensive, we deserve to be treated with care and respect. I moved back to Delaware in 2018 with my beloved Shih Tzu/poodle mix who is now 12 and had always been on a Banfield Wellness plan. Since there are no Banfield Pet Hospitals close by, I chose Brenford because my mother always took her dogs there. From my first visit, I had reservations and the service has gone down hill from there. The staff need better oversight all around. My dog is on prescription dog food that I order through Brenford. Not only is their markup high, $46.00 for a $32.00 bag, they forgot to place my order once and are inconsistent in calling me to let me know it's arrived. My dog's Banfield plan included an annual dental cleaning, but now that he's a senior dog, I worried it may not be necessary annually as well as some of the routine vaccines. When I took him to Brenford in August for a check up and vaccines, Dr. Levinson was very nice - but would not advise on ANYTHING. He seemed to be afraid to make a judgement call on whether all of the vaccines were actually necessary and he told me he would call me back to discuss the dental once the bloodwork came back. I received no call back from him and when I finally caught up with him, he would not offer a professional opinion on whether a dental cleaning should be done??? The last straw was my phone conversation with Elizabeth at the desk yesterday. She answered the phone and abruptly cut me off in an exaggerated and rude manner and placed me on hold. I'm not sure if she was trying to show off in front of the client she said she was helping or what, but once she returned to my call, I told her she needs to watch her tone and I'm sure she has heard this before. Meanwhile, I am still waiting on my $46.00 bag of prescription dog food that I ordered two weeks ago. Not good! I'm going to find a new animal hospital. Brenford front desk staff need to be trained properly. A better system of follow up, protocols and quality control should be implemented.

Amazing place! My family brought my dog here his entire life and we have zero complaints!! Ever time I had a concern about Cosmo, I would have my dad bring him in for peace of mind that my dog wasn't in pain. He was having a lot of trouble towards the end of his life and I didn't want him to suffer. They assured us that Cosmo wasn't in pain and it was just part of the aging process! We didn't do any testing because we knew he was getting really old. We ended up getting him put down because of his rapid decline. Brenford sent us a flower for Cosmo and a card that everyone signed, as well as a card talking about doggie heaven!! I was not expecting that at all and even though I miss my dog very much, receiving those from Brenford made me smile. It shows that they care for the animals that they see in their office and whenever I get another pet, I will be taking him/her to Brenford!! Highly recommend! Thank you Brenford for showing Cosmo the love and support he deserved!

Today my husband called to make an appointment for our dog who was throwing up and had diarrhea. He asked the front desk over the phone to give him an idea of how much it would cost. She said it would be 57.00 for the visit. My husband asked if she could give him any further idea on pricing and she did not. I arrived for our appointment. The veterinarian was kind. She explained what she was doing. My concern was that at checkout my bill came to almost 700.00! Wow...quite shocked and upset that the vet did not tell me pricing as she ran the tests and gave shots. Frustrated that there was no payment plan and the amount was not what I could afford. It would be beneficial to let patients know the pricing and a choice to have it done for their animal before treatment is given. Financially overwhelming and not sure if I will return.
