Almost every isle had a cart that was left with items in it or products to stock shelves but no one was around.

There's only one entrance, even though there's 2 doors. Use the north door. Also, there's swinging gates to enter, and you have to scan your receipt for security gates to let you out. I'm sure it's all for security, but it felt a little like an institution instead of a grocery store. The pharmacy staff were very helpful and pleasant!

When your store has more security than a NY subway don't get upset when people start pushing through turnstiles.

They have a good selection of groceries however, with their new security updates, feels like you can get held hostage in the store if you don't buy something. Also, with the new security updates, the store doesn't feel like it's a safe store to shop in to begin with.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the customer service I have recently experienced at your Dover, DE location. This is not the first time Iāve had an unpleasant shopping experience at this store, and I feel it is important to bring these issues to your attention.
This evening, I purchased turkey wings for dinner, and to my surprise, they had black spots on them. I paid nearly $12 for this item and was completely disappointed to find that they were not suitable to cook. I returned to the store to request a refund, but my experience there left me even more frustrated.
When I arrived to return the turkey wings, the staff member assisting the self-checkout stations looked at me but didnāt greet me or ask how she could help. I informed her that I had a return, and she told me it would be a few minutes because she was managing the self-checkout area. I waited patiently, but she never came back to assist me.
Thankfully, a young lady named Aspen eventually came to help me with the return. However, as I was leaving, I noticed that the original staff member was laughing and talking with others instead of attending to the customers who needed assistance.
This is not an isolated incident. On a previous occasion, I had to wait for more than 30 minutes for someone to assist me at the deli counter. It wasnāt until a gentleman named Messiah from the seafood department stepped in that I was finally helped.
I understand that staffing challenges can impact customer service, but these repeated issues are unacceptable, especially considering the rising cost of groceries. As a loyal customer, I expect better service and attention.

This place is dangerous and scary.
#1 There was a man in the parking lot looking in car windows
#2 If they have to have that much security I will take my business elsewhere. It is obnoxious and just scary.
#3 I could not get anybody to come to the deli and the trays of macaroni were crusty.
#4 It is also not clean the floors were not clean
Safeway should be ashamed to have a store look like this. It is outdated and dirty. I am all for security but it is intimidating and very uncomfortable. If they are having that much trouble it is not a place you would want to shop.

Never have I ever been criminalized by being told I cannot use an open self checkout lane until I came to this store today, to be forced to use the only lane that is open because an employee has told me that I cannot use the self checkout lane, as other people go and checkout. I love Safeway from the west coast but I will never go back into this store after thisā¦. You need to change how you are profiling, criminalizing, and mistreating your customers⦠Do better

Francine at the customer service counter is beyond rude. I was in the store for a return of items I do not know if she just speaks in a rude manner but she was beyond rude and ignorant. Called back to the store and asked for a manager she claims she was the front end manager if that is correct I feel bad for the store if this is the best you have. She also claimed there is no other manager as I asked to speak with her manager. Ironically if you did nothing wrong why not provide the information for your supervisor?????Customer service was poor. I will not return to this place. Better customer service from the kids at McDonalds.

Used to be one of the best grocery stores in the area with amazing produce. We went today and will never go back. The sidewalk outside was covered in trash that we had to step over. The store was dirty inside as well. I needed leeks and figured with their awesome produce this would be the place. It was not. The leeks weren't much bigger around than a green onion and were dry and shriveled AND $1.50 each. We were leaving and had trouble leaving the store near the only working door because we weren't buying anything so we didn't have a receipt to scan to be let out. Never never ever again. I'll stick with Redners.

I get theft is a problem, but the new security tactics are obnoxious. I hadn't been there since they installed the gates at both entrances and at self checkout and didn't realize the gate has to scan your receipt in order to get out. Meanwhile, the employee just stared at me. I was lucky that this was one of the few times what I needed was actually in stock. It doesn't look like you can get out if you end up not buying anything when what you want isn't in stock or are just there to drop off a script at the pharmacy. The store smells horrible too.
