I was scared before my stay here due to some of these "peoples" reviews, but that quickly went away after checking in.
Friendly staff (the man who checked us in was very cool), clean room (smelled fine), shower was great, the AC was blasting, there was a good sized mini-fridge, and there was even a lake behind the property with a nice little grass area to hang out in. The ice machine worked well enough to fill my cooler up each day, and there was even a little gym on the property.
Granted, I don't know a whole lot about Dover, DE, but from what I've seen, it's not exactly the Hamptons. So if you can imagine what a normal, well-run/kept motel would be like in Dover, DE...this is that.
The location was very central to a lot of chain restaurants and sports bars (we liked the Green Turtle), parking was easy and It was an easy walk to the speedway (which is where I was seeing some concerts last weekend).
It's a motel people, not the 4 Seasons. Maybe I got lucky, but I couldn't have been happier with my stay here, and the price was right. Some of the reviews of this place on here were clearly written by extremely soft and entitled individuals.
Rooms: We had a second floor corner room. Easily accessible. View of parking lot on one side / lake on the other (which was better than expected). The room smelled fine (like nothing). The AC worked very well. The beds were comfortable enough (I brought my own pillows and blankets so I can't comment on that). The TV was old but worked fine with basic channels. The shower pressure was a little low, but was very good overall. The mini-fridge was big. There were two beds and a desk. Good lighting with 4 well placed lamps.
Nearby activities: Dover Downs Speedway, Bally's Casino/Resort, the lake behind the property (looked like it had a nice beach on the other side) & what seemed like pretty much any fast food / chain restaurant you could think of (If you're into that sort of thing). If you're a boozer (I guess that could be an activity), there is a liquor store in the same parking lot.
Safety: I felt just as safe as I do most places. Nothing bad happened to me, my friends, or my car.
Walkability: I was going to some concerts at Dover Downs Speedway, and it was a very easy 1 mile walk (with a sidewalk)./
Food and drinks: The ice machine worked great. There were vending machines with the normal things in them. Many restaurants just a short walk away. We liked the Green Turtle. There's also a liquor store in the same parking lot.
Noteworthy details: The room didn't advertise it, but came with a good sized mini-fridge, which was a nice suprise.

Too bad smell, they don't wash the sheets, bad attention, it seems like they don't have cleaning staff.

Don’t stay at this location. It’s a noise place . I couldn’t sleep for the noise loud music & people in upstairs jumping around . called office twice to complain nothing got done.It was noise until after 4:00am.when I left the motel. If I could no stars I would. The rom smelled nasty. A lot of homeless people around smoking & looked be druggies around too. The outside smelled bad when you got to the areas of the room. Checking desk area had a little boy running around in it no supervision & no one to take care of check ins. Very unprofessional the guy who was checking in people kept making mistakes.

Cheaper end when it comes to hotels. Everything is very outdated. But close to the casino.
Rooms: Very outdated.
Nearby activities: Dover Downs Hotel & Casino is a few miles away.

Not a bad place to stay! The rooms were ok, everything worked, the shower was nice and most importantly they were clean. The non-smoking rooms definitely do still smell like smoke but nothing too bad. The service was what made this motel great - the man in reception (didn’t catch his name), was so lovely, friendly and really helpful. Hopefully he and his boss see this because he deserves a pay-rise! Definitely not the Hilton but no complaints about the rooms or service from us.

WARNING! When we first arrived we notice the place looked run down. When we went into the lobby some of the overhead lights were burned out and on were buzzing. After we checked in and was going to our room we notice a smell. When we got to our room the smell was worse. We entered our room we were struck with the nasties room we had ever seen. The carpet was so dirty that if you took your shoes off your feet would stick to the floor. The bed spread was stained in something and when we turned the sheets down there was pubic hair in the bed. The refrigerator did not work and there was no microwave. We call the front desk and they were like " what do you want us to do?" After demanding a new room the front desk guy can up and brought room keys for the next room over. Well it was worse. After changing room twice we just gave up on a clean room here. We called around and everyone else was sold out. And in this room the carpet was sticky, and the commode ran all night. We ended up turning the covers down and sleeping with our close on because we did not want to touch the sheets. And in this room we had to remove the battery from the smoke detector because it would not stop beeping. When we pointed this it out to the desk clerk he just turned around and walked away.I being in the military have sleep in some less than desirable places and even on the ground and it was much better than this super8.I don't normally wright reviews but I felt I needed to warn people not to stay here.Rooms: The nastiest place I have ever seen.Safety: there was a lot of homeless around because of all of the street lights on the property were out. It was dark at night all around this place. It is not safe

Not a motel for children, physically check your room before your stay is paid for.

David, the young man who checked us in, deserves a raise!! What a kind, friendly face to greet us after a 5-hour drive from the 9/11 memorial in NYC. Please make sure he knows how much we appreciate his accommodation of us so late.
