Do not use this branch for your Passport needs. Incompetence on every level. Don't let them convince you that your paperwork is wrong. They messed up my daughter's application so bad that she missed out on her trip to Canada for her college internship. Their mistakes are costing our family in real world ways. They are clueless. The manager (Jack) will come out and be nice and smile and make empty promises and then do absolutely nothing to help. It has been a nightmare going on 2 months now. And when we were in there trying to talk to the manager, another parent was in there to complain about a passport problem. This seems to be a known problem that is going on and not being addressed. I recently contacted my State Senator and State representative for help.

I come here on a daily basis multiple times a week and I drop off tons of packages each time and the workers are always extremely nice and friendly and ready to help. no matter the weather, what time of day it is or what is going on they always make sure the customers are good… thank you

Let be start by saying I went there about 3 years ago to get my son a new passport and it was great. The guy was professional and helpful.
This time, (June 2025) was a different story. Do NOT go to this post office if you need to get a second valid passport , (which is very uncommon - mostly just special circumstances, which we had) The young woman who helped us did not understand what we were trying to do. (We explained several times and had all the correct paperwork) She still filed it as a replacement passport which is not what we wanted. It's such a long story but I went back trying to explain and resolve the issue, and she was soooo RUDE and inconsiderate even though I was being nice to her! She got her co -worker (supervisor?) to deal with it and he was great because he actually listened to me and helped me. (while she was rolling her eyes the whole time and refused to admit she made a mistake)
To sum it up, her mistake cost us a needless 280$, and now my son can not go on his summer trip and she has no idea.
So go somewhere else if you need this service, it was soooo frustrating.!
Update… I talked to Jack (a supervisor) today about my situation and he was so nice and apologetic and I felt heard. Just sorry I didn’t see him the first time!

Terrible. They got my package by mistake, then never tried to fix it and send it out. If I hadn't called it would still be sitting there although I should have picked it up because now it's lost and they're making it my problem to fix it. Yall had literally one job. Do better

The other post offices in NCC should have to emulate Hockessin post office employees. It is such a pleasant yet rare occurrence that you are treated as a human being when visiting a federal or state facility. Why do I expect to be treated like less of a person or why do we allow them to get away with mistreating the public and a consumer. If your job makes you so miserable you harm another by your actions you should find another job and replace the miserable with clones of Hockessin employees. You have a forever customer in me. Thank you for your diligence in representing the federal government in a positive and pleasant manner. You have restored my faith in humanity!

I had an appointment for a passport photo and to apply for a passport. There photo machine was broken (and it didn't just happen), but they didn't bother to contact me to tell me or even post a sign on the door. I would have brought my own photo. Instead, they told me just go over to Walgreens. $17 later, I hey sent my application out.
