Disappointed with WSFS Bank
I had a terrible experience with WSFS Bank. I went in to open an account and was immediately denied, with the blame placed on “the system” they use to screen new applicants. After digging deeper, I found out it wasn’t some external system issue — it was their own internal policy that led to the denial. Apparently, if you don’t meet their idea of a perfect credit profile, they want nothing to do with you.
This felt like a complete violation of my privacy and a huge waste of my time. I wasn’t applying for a loan — I was just trying to open a basic checking account. Yet they judged me based on outdated or irrelevant criteria. No transparency, no accountability, just corporate nonsense hiding behind excuses.
If you’re looking for a bank that actually values people and not just credit scores, look elsewhere. WSFS clearly only wants “perfect” customers, and that says everything about how they do business

Brittany is an awesome manager and I hope she goes far in her career. She expertly advised Kathy and James on two separate trips to handle our family’s business. Everyone at this branch is professional, friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated Brittany’s expert guidance in sorting through a myriad of issues, outside of the immediate business at hand. Bravo to WSFS for selecting great staff members.

Sad how color is still a factor. This past Saturday i pulled up to the Drive-thru first and got serviced second. Everything about the transaction was different. My service was different and it made feel extremely uncomfortable. No I didn't want you to have a full conversation with me but the greetings should have been on the same level and the service in itself should have been as well. Its clear that this bank is not used to color in its presence and will make it known by offering poor service. Never did she ask how I wanted my money if I was cashing my check or if I wanted to deposit the check into my account. Just had a full conversation with the (white) lady that pulled up after me and made sure she was done before me. ????????

Small business beware - avoid WSFS like the plague! I have been told by 2 WSFS reps that I have 60 days to dispute a checking account transaction. NEITHER rep could tell me what company the charges even came from! The first guy told me he'd stop the charges - he didn't. The 2nd rep told me I'd receive a letter stating WHO WSFS gave my money to - instead I get a letter today stating all the disputes have been denied - because they're outside the allowed time frame (NOT TRUE). So I still don't know who they sent my $1000+ to. Exceptionally poor service. I've been a customer there for over 30 years - my personal and my business account are there - and I just opened another business and intended to use them - never again. Ironically enough if you walk into a branch they have signs that say "WSFS Loves Small Business". Sign should say "WSFS Loves Screwing Small Business." Banking commissioner and CFPB are my next stops.

What great service! Michelle Elwood, who is the Assistant Manager was so helpful! She took the time to sit down with me and resolve my inquiry right there in the branch! Would highly recommend WSFS!
