we would like to inform you of how well your people represented you when our A/C decided to take a break yesterday. We greatly appreciate the initiative the ladies in the office took to get us on the schedule for that afternoon. That was followed up by Robert's usual skill and professionalism in getting it up and running. You can be sure that we will continue our 11 year relationship in the future and will recommend you to others.

We were having an issue with the heat in our house that we just moved in to. Called Sherman, as they have been servicing the unit for years. We received a prompt, courteous response and someone came within hours. Robert was very personally, knowledgeable and was able to figure out the issue immediately. He also gave us a crash course on our heating system!
We are very pleased with this company and feel like we’re in great hands! Thank you!

Ran out of propane Feb 12 called and they said I have a past due balance. I would have to pay $800 to come out $400 of it was an emergency charge. I declined and paid $500 on their payment app by credit card. I called the next day and asked for delivery. I was told my account was on hold and did I have proof of credit card payment. I gave them the conformation number. They said it would be 3-5 days to clear. When the charge showed on my credit card I called again. I was told my account was still on hold because I owed more money. I went to Lewes location (always very nice people) Feb 14. They called Milton location and i was told i owed another $496. I wrote a check that day. I called multiple times because my house smelled like gas. Check cleared the 19th. I called the 20th. And was told they didn’t know when they could come but someone had to be home and there a $149 pressure test fee because I was out of propane. As soon as I hung up my door Because they were there, I had to find someone to go to my house so they could come in and check everything. The guy came in lit all the burners The gas smell got worse The person that had let them in my house told them it smells worse The guy said everything was fine and left. When I got home, the whole yard smelled like gas and I was advised to call Fire company they came out and said I need to have Sherman come back immediately. I called Sherman again and they sent two technician That were great come to find My cook stove was leaking. I’m sure I’ll be getting a bill For that also. No customer service Office and no compassion for humanity at all

What a ridiculous company. Brand new customer and we were left with two empty tanks after moving into the new house and never having our own propane tanks before. It is winter, and there is no heat and we have three kids. Instead of trying to have a little human decency with us being new customers, they rake us over the coals for the tune of close to 1200 to get the tanks filled for an emergency. If you have a choice to choose a different distributor, do yourself a favor and go with anyone other than Sherman Heating.

We switched from using Service Today for decades (until they were bought out) and began our wonderful service interactions with Sherman early this year. Back in the winter, the Sherman team flawlessly installed an electric on-demand hot water heater when our tank heater elements failed. We decided to switch all of our HVAC and plumbing to Sherman since our new hot water heater experience was so positive. We signed up for a Sherman annual HVAC service agreement, and scheduled our service appointment for August 16.
On August 16, Ryan arrived at our home after he called us about 15 minutes prior. From the moment Ryan arrived, his demeanor was professional, friendly, and of service. I was with him at our Carrier air handler downstairs the entire time he worked on it. He thoughtfully explained each step he was doing. When he opened up the air handler, he used the switch within the unit to turn it off while he cleaned the coils. When he completed the cleaning, he turned the inside air handler switch back on. Unfortunately, the fan would not come back on. He implemented numerous tests and steps checking the electrical to the fan motor, and realized that the fan motor failed. He double-checked his tests to make sure. At that point, he updated me on his diagnosis of the fan motor failure, apologized for the situation, and assured me that he would have some solutions soon. He then went to his truck, placed some phone calls, and came back with an initial update that the motor was not covered under a warranty, and so far, he couldn’t find a replacement motor. Ryan also noted that he had several teammates in the Sherman office making calls around Rehoboth to see if they could locate a replacement motor. At the very least, he shared the “Plan B” that he could install a temporary motor to give us air conditioning while Sherman would locate a motor.
The important part to share was we had our parents, aunt and uncle (all in their late 70’s to early 80’s) traveling from Southern Maryland to our Rehoboth home. I shared with Ryan that we needed to share with them a go/no go verdict on having air conditioning as two of the four suffered asthma and wouldn’t be able to tolerate 90 degrees and 90% humidity. Ryan completely understood and quickly made some additional phone calls. Good news then arrived to our very, very pleasant surprise! Someone in the Sherman office found a Carrier fan motor in Lewes and what blew us away…. Sherman would pay for both the parts and labor - the whole thing - since the fan motor failed during the service call. The whole thing!!!
It gets even better. While Ryan had the fan motor out, he had trouble removing it as it was stuck. Another Sherman colleague quickly arrived at our home with the needed tool, and stayed a while just in case Ryan needed some help. And while the fan was out of the HVAC air handler, Ryan took the time to clean the entire inside of the air handler which was only possible with the fan unit out. Ryan went the extra mile!!
When Ryan departed, he left our HVAC and storage room cleaner than how he found it, wore covers on his shoes, and thanked us for our patience and understanding. In turn, we thanked Ryan profusely for his amazing and kind service - a solid 12 out of 10. Rockstar performance!

Sherman Oil overfilled our oil tank and it continues to seep out on warm days. Sherman Oil refuses to come and correct their error unless we pay for a service call.

Today I came home from work and found Sherman Oil had come to my house and taken my 100 gallon propane tank! I had no hot water! I called was put on hold for 10 minutes and called back. I was told they made a mistake and they would bring my tank back tomorrow. I said it’s 4:00 you need to bring it back now! I said you overcharged me last time I actually have a credit! She says we didn’t overcharge you we just didn’t charge you the right price per gallon! What!!!??? That’s an overcharge! I never complained I never said anything about the overcharge, but I said I want that tank back now! Geez!
They did come out but instead of my full 100 gallon tank they brought a 48 gallon tank! SMH

Mr.Dean is one of the nicest people! The whole reason I choose to go with Sherman. After pre-paying for a fill up on Monday, I called in for an estimate time of delivery this is our main source of heat, I have a 9 month old and 3 year old in household. Due to recent change in weather I am concerned. I called in and spoke to Katie- worse customer service ever. All she could say is by next week. She couldn’t tell me anything other than that nor did she care about my concerns. Needless to say I may be changing providers. Being with this company over 5 years… I seriously wouldn’t recommend it to anyone! His staff ruins his name!! Take your business elsewhere. Good thing about Delmarva is word of mouth travels fast.

Call to get info on their services. Just asked simply questions, delivery to our area, $ price etc. Was told they would need to run credit check before answering. I wasn't asking for credit I can pay up front not a issue. Poor way to run a business.

I would like to give a special “Thank You” to Dana, a service supervisor at Sherman HVAC in Milton , Delaware.This past week, our family’s air-conditioning system broke down during a very hot, Fourth of July weekend. Thanks to Dana, who was able to repair our air conditioning system and get us back up and running in very short order.I am very appreciative of Dana’s ability to repair our HVAC equipment quickly and efficiently. I don't normally leave reviews, but wanted to because I got absolutely wonderful service from this company all-around. Their office staff is superb and provides great customer service. From being polite to taking the time to listen to my heating issue and working with me to getting it resolved in a very timely manner, they were fantastic. When the service person showed up, despite it being their busy season, he was in good spirits and smiling. He did his work and gave a genuine thank you. This was my first experience with Sherman and I would not hesitate to use them again. Special shout-out to Tracy for dealing with me :)Service: Heating system maintenance
