I typically have a positive experience in this store, especially with the main florist who consistently does an amazing job. However, during my visit this evening around 8:15 PM, I had a concerning experience while checking out at line 5.
As I placed my items on the conveyor belt, I noticed the cashier eating peach rings and then sucking on his fingers before using a single pump of hand sanitizer. I was genuinely shocked to see this happen right before handling customers’ groceries. Out of concern, I placed my limes at the end of the conveyor and asked him to manually key them in to avoid further contact.
It’s already understood that conveyor belts aren’t the cleanest surfaces, but watching a cashier put their fingers in their mouth and then handle customers’ food is extremely unsettling. I would strongly recommend that this individual be reassigned to non-food handling tasks, such as inventory or stocking, where this behavior wouldn’t directly impact customers’ purchases.

I came here on Monday and had the best customer service I believe the cashier was named Angie she was so kind and helpful she showed me how to sign up for the app and for drive up and go services and she got another co worker a young girl with black hair to help me with my groceries as I had a baby with me and was having trouble fitting everything into one cart so the other coworker brought the second cart out to my car and helped me with the groceries and she was so sweet my baby loved her. And another customer helped bag my grocery for me he was behind me in line and just took it upon his self to help out. There was such a good vive in this store everyone was so pleaseant.

I'm glad for Acme at Suburban here in Newark and I try to support it as often as possible. Acme has been developing their U Deal offers and they've become much better at targeting my buying habits. I've actually been purchasing all of my organic soymilk from Acme over the last few months (as opposed to any other store) because of the excellent offers.

So sick of the Acme price is always 30% higher than Food Lion and the Acme ap and sale prices are never accurate and when you ask about it with employees they can't explain it. I can it's deceptive marketing and when you get to the register most of the stuff is going to come up full price. Just drive to Food lion or shop rite and save 30% and they will have accurate prices posted or fix it

Came here mothers day and asked the guys at seafood to steam some crabs and shrimp
Dude was rude off the bat. Made us get shrimp from the freezer and gave our steamed crabs to us half frozen. This man could take out an entire lineage being a half ass, nevermind the attitude he was giving my partner. The audacity to charge what you charge and pay what you pay might be why your employees are so bitter. It's been a year since I got seafood from this place and that is exactly why. Thankfully my folks have a steamer I was able to drive to the other side of town and get, and no one fell ill from eating half cooked seafood. You are welcome.

Customer service has always old ladies who have no idea what they are doing there. They just want to chitchat with the other old employees.
Forget to get any kind of help if you are trying to pay with WIC

This is the worst store in Newark.
The only ladies that work there don’t do their job because they don’t want to stop talking to each other.
Customer service can’t even solve that their system over charges when using WIC. In fact, the old lady on customer service didn’t even look at the receipt because she was too busy talking to the other old lady on self check out.
