Whom it may concern,
I had an appointment scheduled for 4:30 pm for hair service root-touchup with stylist Danelle. It is very unfortunate that the stylist’s name Danelle already had two other appointments that she was working on for hair services. She decides to call upon me 30 minutes after the appointment that is scheduled which was almost 5:00pm. Remind you, she called upon me at 5:00pm, asked me to sit in the chair and why I am I here. I said I am here for the Root-Touch up. She looks at my hair and states it does not need much touch up. She had SAME gloves on between the two clients that she is servicing at this time. While in the meantime, she touches with same gloves on that she had touched the other person’s hair who already had colored hair. Be mindful between the two of us- one has colored hair who is seating at the wash area. And I am sitting in the chair going back and forth between the two of us. Finally, she asks the question what color I want, and I stated I would like to have this color as I had before which is a more natural brown color. She said it will not look good on you; you should put #5 neutral brown color to add it to your tone. I said I would like to have the same color for the root touch up that I had before and If I am the one paying for this touch up than I should have right to select which color I would like to have on. Not being forced upon to what you as a professional (Stylist Danelle) think is right. If you are professional enough you should respect the opinion of the person paying for the service not just enforced on what you want to do. She stated she doesn’t have what I want. I am surprised that ULTA being so enormous and out there does not have one color available because customer wants it and stylist does not want to put it on. It is very unprofessionalism. No matter how many years of services you put on as a stylist but does not have respect for customers, it is not called Professional Stylist. I got up from my chair and with this attitude, who is touching my hair with another person who already has color on would not like to proceed with this service and would like to cancel my appointment. The manager’s name Kara spoke with me who was really nice and handled the situation very well. This is very unacceptable even if you call yourself hair stylist professional does not even have a courtesy to say I am sorry for the way I have approached you but say that I don’t have the color. Kara (Manager) offered the incentive of going elsewhere or to schedule appointments with another stylist. I told her I did not walk into ULTA for the incentive, but to get the hair colored. Which I am leaving without getting it done. Overall, the Professional (Stylist Danelle) who failed to even provide a proper hair service, was going to charge more for root touch up regular, very unprofessional, unethical and terrible practice. In short, I told the manager (Kara) I will not be returning to ULTA every again for unacceptable service, especially the one Center Blvd, Newark, DE. Thank you Kara for listening to upsetting frustration I had for the salon service.

Thank you to Ulta Newark for fitting me in for a last minute hair appointment. Alivia did an amazing job braiding my hair for my boxing match. The braids stayed in perfectly the whole fight and they looked cute! Thank you so much!

I’ve always considered Ulta a top tier place for a self care day. I especially enjoyed the presence of one of the staff, i believe her name is jolynn? She made me feel so beautiful and had an answer or product for all my questions! Very friendly. Face of Ulta that one.

Nothing makes me more mad than driving 45 minutes for a scheduled facial. But when you get there and complete their questionnaire they say they can’t do your facial because you use tretinoin. Fine no problem but where was that listed when I scheduled? No where. Then I had asked the girl if she could recommend products for texture and she completely ignored that question. She rescheduled me but I won’t be back. I’m really disgusted.

Jocelyn, super nice & helpful sales associate led me to the products I was looking for, she asked questions, listened to my needs and offered me options. She was exceptional! The shade of the Fenty powder foundation I needed was not available, so I went to the cashier for check out of items that they did have👍😁😳 Margarita was extremely, professional and friendly, she made sure to attempt to order the item only, however, item is out of stock! So, even online I can't get it! Guess it's just a popular shade! 🤷 Not sure if they didn't order enough? 🤔 #toughbreak

Absolutely love ulta! I’m an ulta girly for life! My only complaint is when I have to make return ( which ulta is incredibly generous about) I wish they would give you the option of either a return to the card of purchase, or a store credit. Last time I went in I had paid a $13 or a store credit and $55 in cash. They returned it to me the same way which is fine, but they could have just given it to me all on a store credit as I was going shopping anyway would have been easier for everyone.. not a big deal, but it just may be better for them to ask “do you want back on a your card or a store credit” but the store is wonderful and everyone is super friendly!
