Hairstylist: SIMA. After seeing all the reviews about Sima being an amazing hair stylist, I decided to give her a try. It was my first time in the salon in a long while (maybe 5 years ago) since I didn’t like my first haircut. I can’t tell you what a hospitable person and great haircut Sima gave me. She knew what looked good on me and altered the haircut I showed her to match my hair and face. I am so happy!!! I will surely see her again and I truly recommend her!!! Thanks!!!

Sima is a master hair artist/designer. She is so good I actually wait to get my hair highlighted and colored until I travel from the coast of NC to see my friends & family in DE. I am a Singer/Songwriter so I need my hair to look its best and I always love how Sima transforms my thick, coarse/wavy hair that has been affected by the Sun and the Surf into a smooth, luxurious masterpiece. She point cut my hair at the beginning of the summer and it looked great for quite a few months and so she also is top notch and trimming my hair. Sima is also excellent at waxing and tinting my eye brows. I also like that she suggests what is good for the health of my hair, since I like to wear my hair long. I tried to upload photos but system wouldn't let me. I will try to upload at another time.

I had foils and coloring done today. I was scheduled for another stylist who was out so instead I had Tara take me! She is absolutely amazing! She did such an amazing job on my hair! I will be going to her again?

I’ve never gotten my hair cut at JcPenny but was in the area and needed one so I stopped in. Very pleasantly surprised with this experience, Tara was amazing!
I walked in for a hair cut and was seen immediately - Tara was very attentive, she asked many questions about what I wanted and took extra care to make sure the cut was even. One of my favorite hair cuts I’ve had and most definitely the best hair cut I’ve had in a while! :)

Me and my 2 daughters go to the salon Tara is great my 17 yr old loves her and she does an amazing job on her hair. She takes her time to listen to what she wants and makes it happen. My older daughter went to Janny (I can't spell out his whole name..lol) he was great with her. She can be a bit difficult when it comes to her hair he did an incredible job he colored her hair beautifully and just a nice cut. He also did a cut on my hair after Tara did my treatment ( which I did come back and have her do again made my scalp actually feel relaxed again great) the cut and style he gave me I left there just feeing beautiful and like a different person. I cannot express enough how gre they are. We will be continuing to go back for as long as they are there. 5 stars is not enough.

Sima is absolutely amazing. she did me and my mother’s hair. very polite and down to earth person. no doubt i would tell anyone to ask for sima. she takes her take and genuinely cares about her customers. she takes all the time she can to make everyone happy! and is one of the sweetest people i have came across!

I am truly apalled at the appearance of the styling salon. Whomever the new owners are of JC Penney Styling Salon really need to take a real hard look at the esthetics of this salon. There is much needed paint to be done, too many water leaks to even count and just an overall cosmetic update would at least give the customers a boost and the polite staff who work for this establishment a boost in morale. I use to be an employee of the salon and I have never seen it look in the condition that it does today in 2024. Its nice to make the sales and make the company a whole lot of money, but its time you give back to the customers who frequent your establishment. Most new salons offer their customers water and/or juice when they come in and pay the high cost for a great salon experience. And often times, you do not keep the same products on your shelves, which run out quickly and I am not certain its because you sell out of them fast, or you orders are not completely filled. I see a whole lot that needs updates. The wash bowls need to be replaced, the wash bowls chairs are older than 20 years. This is a horrible customer experience for any customer and those who are disabled, this store needs to have a wash area that accomodates those who are in wheelchairs. I have seen a lot in the many years I have frequent this store, but by far, if you gross the most revenue from this salon, you need to make sure the salon exemplifies what the customers are paying in price to enjoy a wonderful experience. I love my hairstylist and she does an amazing job, but the chair I sit in is often times on the brink of collapsing or just plain out of date.
Please take the time to listen to your customers. If you don't put value back into the salon, you sure won't get any value from the salon or its customers. We must be willing to do better, and not just continue to do business where the customer experience is not realized.

Malinda James did a shampoo, deep conditioner and silk press on Friday, June 7, 2024. My previous hairdresser has stopped taking clients. My hair is thin and soft. Malinda has done my hair a few times but this time she hit the ball out of the park. When she finished, my hair looked exactly the way I wanted it to look. I haven't looked like this since I was in high school in the mid 80's.
Prior to Malinda taking over as my stylist, Carman Clayton did my hair for years. She also did a great job coloring and cutting my hair. I recently decided to let my hair grow out. Personally I feel that I look older when my hair is longer. I have a debilitating illness which already makes me walk as if I'm 15 years older than I currently am. I don't need my hair to make me look even older than what I am. ??♀️
Requested style: My hair is thin and I requested it to be parted on one side and curled around.
Hair type: My hair is thin, black with rust (I would best describe it as) highlights.
Stylist: My current stylist is Malinda James.

I recently visited the JCPenney Salon and had the pleasure of having my hair styled by Margarita. From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly sweet and welcoming. Margarita took the time to listen to my requests and truly understood what I was looking for. She went above and beyond to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the final result. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence were evident throughout the entire appointment. I left the salon feeling more confident and happy with my hair than I have in a long time. Margarita's pleasant demeanor and exceptional skills make her a standout stylist. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch salon experience!

I have been going to Sima for over 20 years...she is the best. I trust her and would not think about seeing anyone else. She is professional and cares about her clients. She comes to the salon and zooms into her clients making them highly satisfied and oblivious to anything else going on. I was there a few weeks ago and what I thought was laughable I know Sima was embarrassed in front of several clients by the hairdresser next to her which was Marguerite. Marguerite said somebody took her mirror and asked Sima if she had it while I was there and other clients ...she checked and slammed Sima's drawer all mad...she said she had her initials on her mirror ...Really! How much does that mirror cost..5 bucks When Sima showed me my hair from the back which I said ok your initials are on the mirror ..lol whatever! Total drama and interrupting her calm and utmost clientele following.So petty but not acceptable in any way! I give Sima five stars and Marguerite 0!
