We had an excellent meal with delightful service! The four of us had 2 soup specials, halibut, salmon, bouillabaisse and crabcakes, and we all tasted each others because it was so good!!! We are local and will definitely be back!

One of the best restaurants at the beach.

It was delicious, large portions, the salads are meal size. Service was great, the host even pulled my chair out for me to be seated. They did mess up by bringing the crab cake meal instead of sandwich but only charged us for the sandwich after we brought it to their attention. I would definitely go back.

All four of us enjoyed our meals. My crab cake sandwich was all crab with no fillers. The butterflied shrimp (pictured here) with a seafood medley filling was very fresh and seasoned well. Staff were friendly. Only phone reservations accepted.

Overall it was an enjoyable meal. We were lucky that we got in without a reservation.

I was very excited to try this place after all the hype from my fiance. We started with drinks and the crab dip. Service was prompt most of the evening and the crab dip was very good, although not the best I've ever had. Mother in law ordered the crab cakes, she didn't complain but they were definitely burned on the bottom. Fiance ordered some sort of chicken, I couldn't tell really what because it was coated in cheese, she seemed happy. I got the paella, easily the worst paella I've ever had. The rice had no spice, no seasoning really to speak of, the flavors had no cohesion, it tasted as though everything was cooked separately then plated together. It also had a bone in BBQ chicken breast on top which for sure didn't go with the dish. The seafood was overcooked. I could tell there was a lot of crab included but couldn't really taste it. Sadly the sausage was the best part of the seafood dish. Very expensive evening for lots of flaws. Would not go back personally but maybe I'm the outlier considering all the other great reviews.

My sister found Cedar just from a web search and suggested it to me as a possible date night spot for me & my spouse, and it was so amazing that I went back the next night and took my sister too. Every single thing we had both nights was amazing: crab dip; fried green tomatoes; smoked salmon; the bruschetta was more complex and rich and satisfying than I would have thought possible; kale feta salad with sweet potato; beet goat cheese salad; cashew encrusted halibut that melted in my mouth; and even the cocktails were delightful. I haven't had food a fraction as good as this at the beach before. Get yourself here!

This is a little gem of a place. Outside dining available. The service was impeccable . The food was delicious. Very reasonably priced for the area.

First: they don't take same-day reservations and don't answer the phone after 4:30, though I can confirm that they will call you back the next day, as they claim in their voicemail message. I wish they did take same-day reservations and answered their phone after 4:30, as it was clear that there were several slots open the night we visited. We waited in the car for about 1 hour to be seated.Thankfully, the food was excellent. We were saving room for dessert, so we started with our mains. I ordered the baked stuffed shrimp, which were delicious. They give you four, which doesn't sound like a lot, but it was plenty, as they were overflowing with seafood. They came with orzo, rice, and tender, cooked broccoli and carrots. (I got rice because they didn't have much orzo left.) All had good flavor that complemented the shrimp well. For dessert, I got the mascarpone raspberry, lemon cake, which the server recommended as her favorite dessert at Cedar, and I can see why! I reached my stomach's limit about halfway through the cake, but it was so good, I had to finish it there and then. I paid for it the rest of the night and the next day, but it was worth it (though next time, I'll just get the cake to go). It has a preppy/boat shoe-wearing vibe, so kind of upscale but also relaxed. Prices are a bit more expensive than other comparable casual restaurants, but the food is worth it. They need to fix their reservation system, but I would definitely come here again, though I would call no later than the day before to make a reservation.

So disappointed. This was at the top of our list when we wanted to take family or friends out for a special dinner. We had reservations for 8 at 7 pm on a Sunday night. Arrived at 6:59 but table wasn't ready. After a 15-minute wait we were seated. Took our waitress a little while to get to us so we right away ordered 2 appetizers for the table to share, then placed our dinner orders. Appetizers were fine. But then, we waited, and waited, and waited. It took at least 30 minutes for our meals to arrive -- all but one. Apology was "Sorry, we are making your dinner right now." So 8 of us ate while 1 waited some more. When that meal came out it was inedible. Chicken was thin, rubbery and not quite cooked. Meal was sent back after 3 bites. Most of the meals were fine (not good) except for the crab cakes which were bland, tasteless. When one of the managers came to our table, there was no apology for the wait, or for the meal sent back, just an excuse. "You ordered appetizers. That's why it took so long." ??? And "We are thinking of not accepting large parties." I believe one of the partners, or the cook, left and the food reflects that. There are so many other good choices in the Ocean View Bethany Beach area, don't take the chance. We certainly won't.

Had a reservation but was caught up in traffic due to an accident. Tried to call to tell them we were running late but they failed to answer the phone. They finally called us to tell us that they gave away our table due to us being late. Well if you would have answered your phone you would have known we were 5 minutes out. Grand total 10 -12 minutes late. Arrived and was met by a tall rude blonde talking circles to justify what she did to us. The interior had numerous empty tables and she said we could eat outside. We considered getting a drink and sit outside to see how we could tolerate the heat. Blondie said we couldn't do that, the outside tables were for dinning only. We expressed out disappointment and mentioned a poor review will follow, she could have cared less. Drove down the street to Big Fish Grill, seated right a way, had a wonderful meal with stellar service. Oh, did I mention that the tall blonde hostess was totally rude?

The food was generally good but quite expensive. My main critique was the atmosphere - really loud environment with tables close together. Hard to carry on a conversation even with someone right next to you. We were seated directly behind the host stand and the fans blew wind directly on us which was chilly. The hostess kind of hovered over our table and snatched every dish the moment a person finished which didn’t help creating a relaxing experience. Not worth the prices.

Good food except seafood was overdone and chewy. Fried green tomatoes with goat cheese was excellent.

We r locals and dined tonight for first time. Ordered drinks-which were generous. The server returned within five minutes to get our order, and when we mentioned we weren't ready to order, she then told us we had only an hour more for our dining experience because they have a reservation coming in after us. The restaurant was not full when we were there, and there were three or four empty tables, which were still empty when we left when our hour was up. Due to our limited time, three of us ordered appetizers, the shrimp appetizer was very delicious, the Caesar salad was good, but no anchovies on it, Potato skins were too much potato and not enough seafood . The halibut entrée was very delicious . Diane V

This place rocks, how I never knew about this restaurant I don't know. I've been there twice in two weeks. Next time I'm ordering the paella. Some of the dinners said it was delish and it smelled heavenly when I was close to others enjoying it. The place is small and kind of pricey but worth it. The fresh fish, and scallops were outstanding as well as some of the appetizers. Small bar area, super nice bartender, wait staff and hostess. This restaurant is heavy on the seafood side with a Latin flair which I absolutely love. The only thing I would not order again is the crab dip, too much mayo for my liking and the chocolate tres leche cake was not great. The brie appetizer is the best I've ever had anywhere it's enough for 2-3 people to share. I love this restaurant and will continue to recommend and frequent it when I want to splurge. No happy hour or off season specials but it's so worth the money, grin and bear it as the saying goes. You will love this place!
