You have to remember, these people are volunteers, and all the people that complain about the customer service should realize that

We came down to this area for a week vacation, and this thrift shop has the best bargain I have ever been.

I don’t even give this place 1 star. They may have good bargains but the staff are very ignorant. They were closing at 12 and my husband and I arrived at 11:50. I just wanted to get some shirts so I knew exactly where to go. An older lady immediately told me to get in line we’re closing at 12. Not even a, “Hello, just an fyi, we close at 12.”Instead she was very hostile. I said I should have time to look at just this section. She said well the register will close at exactly 12. There were two ladies in line already checking out so I should have had time. As soon as she checked them out, the older lady said “registers closed” all while looking straight at me and it wasn’t even 12:00. I said that’s ok. I’m not getting anything from you anyway and walked out. Very rude people that work there and this wasn’t the first time dealing with rudeness there. I won’t go back.

Although this place may have good bargains the staff need some training in customer service. Upon immediately entering the building instead of saying “hello, welcome, let me know if you need anything”- we were greeted with we are closing in 20 min. Which wasn’t even accurate because they shaved 10 minutes off the time. It just seemed like the staff couldn’t wait to get out of there and were not at all helpful or friendly. I don’t like shopping in places that feel hostile and unwelcoming.

They do not accept credit or debit cards, cash or local check only. There should be a sign on the door as you walk in to avoid shopping for nearly an hour ONLY to find out payment options at check out.

I went to the Samaritan Thrift Shop for the first time today. I live out of state and was on the hunt for a thrift store. The store was laid out pretty nicely. It was not cluttered. They had lots of different types of items for sale - furniture, linens, sports equipment, hardware, accessories, jewelry, a good amount of glass and knick knacks, fairly small shoe and toy sections, mixed media (mostly DVDs), books, and, of course, clothing. They had a good amount of MEN's clothing (which I don't find at some thrift stores). However, the clothing section was a mix of low and some mid-level brands. Most items were in wearable condition (meaning no rips, tears or stains) but not all. I happened to catch a 50% off shorts and shirts day so I bought two men's shirts. Prices are fairly reasonable. The 50% off is what got me to buy two men's shirts (which I got for $3.50 for both). Customer service on the floor is definitely lacking but that's ok with me because they were busy getting items onto the floor and checking people out at the register (which is how a busy thrift store should be). They were nice enough at the register when I purchased my items. I would definitely return if it wasn't so far from when I'm staying.
