What a pleasant experience shopping at Smyrna Sporting Goods. Was greeted upon entering and everyone was so helpful and courteous. They have a huge inventory of firearms and ammo. The knowledgeable employees showed me several firearms to make an informed purchase. Great place to shop for firearms. Highly recommend.

Usually people leave negative reviews when they have a bad experience with a business and they let their emotions control what they write. This negative review is not driven by emotions... it is different. In the past, this place had a nicer atmosphere, it felt like the owners had known you for many years. The owner and employees made you feel at home. They had answers to all your questions and the best thing of all was that they were not arrogant with their clients. From amateur gun owner to expert gun owners, they always treated us with respect and made us feel comfortable. It seems that the new owners have changed that style and atmosphere. They seem very arrogant and even look at you with prejudiced eyes. The fact that one of the owner is African American and he makes people feel this way does not remove the prejudice tone that he serves you with. He is very arrogant as is the white man who is always sitting at the entrance of the door echoing the owner's behavior. The town's people are the ones who make these businesses grow. Without our support of these local businesses, they would end up bankrupt. Being humble and treating people right, with kindness, it costs nothing. What makes your business grow is not the quality of what you sell but the quality with which you treat your customers. That includes... Black, white, Hispanic, Asian etc etc. Be humble and treat people right. The problems in your home or the stress of the day are not the customers' fault. You should give your business a good reputation with better treatment for your customers.

Great prices, great selection, great service, with a smile. It's a very comfortable store to shop at and the staff there are knowledgeable and friendly. We will be shopping here more frequently. I recommend shopping here for all your sporting and fire arm needs. 5 ⭐️ plus rating!

I’m a resident here in Smyrna. I did two transfers using this shop. Both transactions were quick and professional. The man that runs the shop is good ol boy. Treats people the way they treat him. My kinda guy. Give respect you get it in return. I look forward to do more business with him.

A very quaint and cozy shop that is reminscent of the good old days and slower times. Populated with good folks and some decent selection for a small store. I like it and I will go back for sure. Call ahead if you need anything specific

Just seems a waste that they are always closed early, wouldn't mind actually being able get in and see what I want without taking a half day off of work

The absolute worst customer service. The owner sold the SAME gun TWICE. He also thought it was appropriate to curse at my mother. Terrible business I can not fathom how he has been in service this long.

Great shop, I've done multiple transfers here and prior to Covid they had plenty of stock, but that's how things go, they still have a nice little selection though. Transfer fee is $30 and shop owner is a good guy, I always give a call before my order gets there to give him a heads up and he calls me shortly after my order is delivered.

I love to support a small business, and shop local. My husband and I purchased a gun in Maryland, and had it transferred here to do the paperwork and pick up. It arrived to Smyrna Sporting goods in 1/28/21, and we got no phone call that it was in. On 2/1/21 my husband called there, and was told the gun was not there. I called the store we purchased it from, and they gave me the tracking information. I called Smyrna Sporting Goods back, and spoke to a rude and nasty man. It is such a same to see a business like this give such poor customer service, and not even care. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I thought this place was ok at first, but after the third visit I changed my mind. I previously ordered two and had them shipped there, did the back ground check, no issues. The third visit things went down hill from there.I ordered another gun had it shipped there as I did the first two times. When it came to the back ground check, I forgot to include my SSN on the form. The person on the phone from the FBI background check agency asked him for the SSN, and he the stated (none given). I asked him if I needed to write it down and he said NO. Well I was delayed and got denied later.I called the and talked to some one from the agency, and she said it was because of the information given or not given, and that is was best if gave my SSN, that help distinguish me from someone else.I ordered another gun and had it shipped there, thinking I would go back there fill out the paperwork using my SSN number, and it would be ok. Well I was wrong, because he refused to let me do the paperwork and run the back ground check again.I knew it was something wrong, because I've bought 3 guns since then (from other FFL dealers). And he still have my guns (if the crook haven't sold them).I was talking to someone about this location, and they said they can believe he did it on purpose, because of some things he has done in the past.

The appeal process with (NICS) takes months to process.
