I wish I could do 0 star. Who voted it to be the no 1 bank in Delaware? It must be the only bank in Delaware than. Called customer service 3 times in 2 weeks they just escalate the matter and nothing happens. Super frustrating. Asked them for company email address so I can put in a complaint and she asked me to write a LETTER and mail or fax it. They working in 1990s style. I would suggest to use cash than deal with this bank. Customer service is out sourced. So bank’s management is the real issue. This bank should be in business.

I opened 2 accounts about 3 years ago. Found the small size of the bank was a problem, phones are not answered, the recorded message says leave a message and we will call you back, often 4-5 hours later on a business day. Debit card did not work, called the receptionist who said they were having trouble at the bank and I should try the card tomorrow; after many tries with the debit card, eventually found out that my debit card had been locked. No branches in other states and no national call center. Very difficult to reach anyone in their wire department, 20 calls to their main telephone number is not an exaggeration to try to get through on a business day.

I am disputing the return of a pair of sneakers that I purchased for a son on Christmas who is special needs. Unfortunately, the sneakers were far too big. I contacted Applied Bank who asked me to mail their form which I completed and mailed backed on 12/27/2022. They are now asking me to provide proof that I returned the item and I didn't save the tracking info with USPS. I have emails I provided from the vendor and they are fighting me tooth and nail not to refund the purchase. The vendor is also shady and doesn't provide a street address number, just the name of their street in Houston, TX. Do not sign up or deal with Applied. They won't honor refunds. Very disappointed. I paid all payments on time and have a perfect track record. This is sad.

Applied Bank offers a good credit card for those of us with less than stellar credit. Just setup autopay and make sure you make you minimum monthly payments until you see autopay deduct from your checking account for the first time. This company really does try and I really appreciated them being there for me and my family in my time of need. I will suggest that Applied Bank updates their website as it's a bit tricky to navigate and yes I've run into issues making payments as well due to the system that they have in place... That being said, they are try to provide the best service possible to all of their members and I truly believe this. If you run into issues making a payment online, just call them up and make a payment over the phone.

Commonly, people are quick to post comments that are not good, but if they are happy, then they are less likely to post comments. (Most of the time). Due to my own experience with Applied Bank, I had to post a review after what I have been reading here. This is my primary bank and I just love the bank and the people who work here. I noticed that someone in the comments mentioned not being able to contact customer service and he/she needed to leave a message. I did that once, but it was just the wrong number to call. (There are a few different numbers). The people who work at Applied Bank are always available, friendly and willing to help. It has taken me quite some time to finally find a bank that I trust, has good people working there and that I can feel confident with. I am so happy to have found Applied Bank.

I think 10 days is too long for a payment to be held to post to your acct.. but if I pay Western Union or Money Gram 24 to 48 hrs .. why pay someone else money to pay my card balance ..

Their bank was data breached ... there fore my card was hacked. They never notified me... found out when I went to make a payment in their automated system. They should have called me. Now when I got my bill I was charged $30.00 for a new card. I should not pay fir this and now I got to write a letter to get it off . You would think they would go above and beyond for their customers.... especially since I never missed a payment and have been with them a very long time!

They are trying to sue me for a credit card debt that is 20 years old, with a balance under $700. And trying to collect $2000. I'm not a fool. I know my rights and will fight them in court. Be wary of this financial institution. They are bad in every way! Scare tactics including threatening to put a lean on my vehicle. I have contacted the state attorney General, and will be filing a counter suit.

Applied Bank has extremely poor record in the way they deal with issues. For all intended purposes, they have the equivalent of a "cardholder agreement" which for general appearance sake, resembles every other cardholder agreement with the exception of this clause: "Rejection of Arbitration Provision. You may reject this Arbitration Provision, (and any prior arbitration provision between you and us) by sending us a notice (“Rejection Notice”) that we receive within thirty (30) days after you open your Account. Any Rejection Notice must include your name, address and telephone number and must be signed by you. You must mail your Rejection Notice or send it by messenger service (such as Federal Express) to us at our Legal Department at P.O. Box 15803, Wilmington, DE 19850 or to any bank branch. In the event of any dispute concerning whether you have provided a timely Rejection Notice, you must provide a signed receipt as confirmation. This is the only method you can use to reject this Arbitration Provision." I have never viewed a statement like this ever and I read them! This is my concern: So a person who does not exercise his right to basically opt-out of the arbitration is faced with the reality that Applied Bank knows how to get around this (or so they think anyway). What happens if they do not respond to communications from the arbitration panel, then what? I'm actually in possession of a letter from the American Arbitration Association addressed to Applied Bank which states in relevant part: "Claimant has filed with us a demand for arbitration. We note that the arbitration clause provides for arbitration by the American Arbitration Association. Prior to the filing of this arbitration, Applied Bank failed to comply with the AAA's policies regarding consumer claims." This letter goes on the state: Accordingly, we have administratively closed our file and will refund any payment received by the filing party." My letter is dated March 29,2021. I have confirmed with the AAA, this date and this letter remains unchanged. So, by their own document, they have failed to meet its own terms in a legitimate forum for which the only people that would be impacted is the consumer! But let me not be in compliance and see how fast they come for me! I have been waiting eight (8) business days for a pending credit card authorization to "fall off". Applied has told me on no uncertain terms are they to blame! The place it squarely on the merchant; who by the way has provided batch information and confirmation from their processor of the credit. Applied's response? "It can take up to 30 days." So I called Visa USA who informed me that it "should never take that long." Especially considering the Merchant has in fact done their due diligence. I feel compelled to share this because I suspect larger on the horizon. Applied cannot make up rules as they go along! Then they have an obligation to meet the terms of their licensing agreement with Visa USA. To add insult to injury, nobody within Applied can tell me "who" then is responsible since Applied does not know. You have to provide some sort of information. But I guess you've found we the people are 'too stupid' to know this. But it looks like we will be doin for some time! I think not! I'll see you in another forum since Applied acts above reproach.

If I could chose no stars I would. I called Applied Bank's "Corporate Office" to report fraudulent activity. The lady on the phone said there is nothing she can do nor even offered to look into the activity because they don't have a "fraud department". What kind of banking is this place? When someone calls to warn you fraudulent activity is taking place, you look into the incident and when/where or what happened. That information would then be used for my police report, provided to the PI or the credit agencies to ensure NO line of credit was given. She didn't even offer to make sure no line of credit was provided. This is a b******* company that should not be allowed to stay open.

If you are looking to improve your credit score or build any type of positive payment history...THIS IS NOT THE CREDIT CARD YOU WANT. My credit score dropped 114 points as soon as I made my 1st payment. Which I paid early & paid for 2 months. I have received multiple letters informing me that I have been reported due to not making my 1st payment. WAS CHARGED A HUGE LATE FEE & INTEREST FOR NOT PAYING MY PAYMENT. Which was paid ! They have no record of that ! It took me over 2 weeks to finally make contact with a rep. As they change their hours of operation at random. I have never in my life seen such a scam. $300 limit, opened in January...Made 1st payment early & paid for 2 months. Paid 3rd payment which minimum payment was $170.00 instead of $35.00 like I was told. Increased due to late fees....And over limit fee. They put me over my limit with the FALSE statement that I never made any payments. THIS BUSINESS IS AN ABSOLUTE JOKE & I WOULD SAY ALL EXTRA FEES ARE TO PAY TO PUT THEIR RUDE REPS THROUGH SCAM SCHOOL. ....APPLIED BANK- WHERE THE COMPANY MOTTO IS “IM SORRY WE HAVE NO RECORD OF THAT “
