1577506256 is our reservation number In case Enterprise is reading this. There’s no way to email Enterprise directly and resolve this and let them know about the experience so I figured I’d post it here.
The corporate website and customer service people have no idea what’s going on and allow you to rent vehicles a week in advance when the local offices don’t have the vehicles. We reserved a 15 passenger van a week before we needed it for a kid’s birthday party.
We learned the hard way that what you really need to do when you rent a vehicle from Enterprise on their deceptively easy website Is to call the local office where the rental is going to be made and confirm with them that this car is actually going to be available.
It seems totally stupid that Rnterprise puts their local offices in this position and gives you the impression that it’s easy to rent a vehicle online in one step, when in reality there’s no point in using the website at all, and when you rent a car from them. You really need to call the local office and do it through them.
The Saturday of the party, this office called me to say they didn't have it. The Pennyhill location said they didn’t see any Enterprise locations with a van between Baltimore and Philadelphia and couldn’t help us.
We called the enterprise one 800 number back to see what other options we had. They said we could rent two minivans instead and went through the process of setting up two reservations for us at a different enterprise location. We asked them if they needed to confirm with the local office that they indeed had two minivans since two hours earlier their system said they actually had a 15 passenger van. The woman promised they had two minivans at this location that we could use for our kid’s birthday party. I asked her if she could stay on the local desk, and she said she wasn’t allowed to do that and there was no need because her system promised they were there and we would have no problem getting the vans….
As soon as I got off the phone with Enterprise corporate, I called the local Enterprise office about the two minivans. They said they had no minivans and they couldn’t find any minivans available at any Enterprise office in the region. They said “corporate does this to them all the time”, sites like kayak and Expedia also do this where it says they have vehicles that they really don’t and they let them check out vehicles that never are there.
I still needed two vans or some way to move a bunch of kids to a party, so I called the 800 number back for a third time to talk to them and ask them if they had any other way to help me. The guy with whom I spoke at that point said he was confused why I was calling him because he showed vans at that site and lots of other sites and didn’t know why I couldn’t just reserve one there or online.
He said he would call me back and try to find a way to help. He said he would put a message out to all the Enterprise offices looking for vans.
Never got a call back and never got this resolved.
What the heck Enterprise?

Enterprise is still providing quality service in 2024. After reserving a compact car online, the Enterprise rep surprisingly offered an "on- -the-spot" upgrade for the same rate. Each customer service agent gave clear answers for an incredibly smooth rental. GOD BLESS the Enterprise folks!

The customer service here was great. The employees provide very prompt and courteous service. My issue is I wanted to rent a car for 2 days which would have totaled under $200. I was told I needed a $400 deposit plus a utility in my name, bank statement and pay statement. Now if you already have the $400 on hold on my bank account, why do I need to show all this proof? You already got your money plus more

Want to give a shout out to Trey, the manager at the Pennyhill location. She and her staff (hey Bryan!) were pleasant, professional and a genuine pleasure to do business with. I rented a car in SC that developed computer
issues, and had my car swapped out here in Delaware in minutes in spite of the place being super busy. I ended up (almost) glad the car broke! Great job!

Everyone was so helpful!
The agent I worked with even went so far as to contact me to say that my insurance was not correct and prompting me to inquire why.
The car itself was in great condition and was just what I needed.

Total rip off I’ve put in request about a week in advance for a standard vehicle for 4 days $200, read the requirements came with all requirements just for them to tell me that it’s a $400 deposit when online it says that in the requirements for enterprise should say that it comes with a deposit but this place requirements does not say that…..

I have been an Enterprise customer for longer than I can remember but this will certainly be my last rental. The Wilmington Delaware, Lancaster Ave. agency has to be the worst I've ever encountered. "Dave" was the person I spoke to about needing the car delivered to the Cadillac Auto Body Shop due to a windshield repair being done on my wife's vehicle. He first asked me what the insurance claim number was to which I replied that since I was using my accumulated rewards points I wasn't using my insurance, therefore no claim number. He acted shocked by this and mumbled something, he mumbled a lot, about owing $400 for this rental. I didn't hear that but my wife did, so I called back for clarification. He begrudgingly explained that it was a hold on my card to which I replied a security deposit right? Finally he said yes. The car that I reserved was a Premium Malibu or similar, the car they brought was a Nissan Rogue that was just about the most uncomfortable newer car I've ever driven. I dropped the rental back at the body shop as I was directed first thing the next day. Today mumbling Dave called to let me know that I owed an extra day's rental because I dropped the car off at 3:00pm. After I started explaining that was incorrect he said I'm not going to argue with you and hung up. Apparently that counts as customer service these days. I called the body shop who confirmed the early dropoff of the vehicle
Then I called Enterprise Customer service who confirmed my version of events and fixed amount of my payment. I've been watching Enterprise get a lot worse but chalked it up the pandemic! Obviously it's more of a lack in training company wide.

I dont write many reviews, but I felt the need to, due to their phenomenal customer service. I dealt with three employees and they were all great and extremely helpful. I wish every business was ran like this place. Its like time traveling back to the 90s, when people were happy, respectful, and genuine.

Enterprise on Philadelphia Pike has a wonderful staff. They are attentive and knowledgeable, professional and friendly. The cars are in good working order and clean.
It may be a good idea to invest in a charging port for the electric optional vehicles. Just a thought.
