Giant Food is a neighborhood grocery store that has operated for over 75 years with a goal of delivering selection, quality, and value. It is a supermarket of choice for many, seen as better than other local chains. The store stays open pretty late, is clean and well-stocked, and is one of the only grocery stores in Delaware that still provides free bags. The selection is what you can expect from a chain, with some local items like handmade soaps on the shelves. Customers can take advantage of great Bonus Buy deals, online coupons, loyalty rewards, and convenient services like curbside pickup and contactless delivery. However, the store has significant issues with customer service and operations. Many employees, especially older cashiers, are described as miserable, rude, disinterested, and irritable. There are reports of staff snapping at customers, sighing with attitude, and failing to acknowledge people waiting at counters. The self-checkout machines are annoying, finicky, and frequently have issues, causing problems almost every time. There is also feedback about the store layout, suggesting the welcome sign placement is confusing. While the store is generally well-stocked, some customers have had past issues with sale prices not scanning correctly at checkout, though this is noted as a problem at a competitor.
Standard supermarket. Good produce. A bit pricey at times.

Very nice grocery store just slightly more expensive than I expected.

Just bought a very, very small cake. $9.99. It was dry and old. It was embarrassing as I bought it to take to a friend's house to celebrate his birthday. I knew better but stopped at Giant anyway. Ugh
