Spent NYE here with a large group. Clean rooms, easy check in and out process, and the firepits on the patio was a nice touch!Rooms: Spacious and clean.Safety: The doors were locked at night when we got back and had a security gard. Felt very safe.

The room was clean and well laid out. We ate at the restaurant. The food was very good. I was so impressed with how happy the employees were to be at this hotel. They remarked that everyone treats them well in management. This makes such a difference in how an employee feels about coming to work and performing their job. This, in turn, trickles down to the customer. It was an extremely enjoyable experience.

Pretty good hotel I would say and the view was awesome! I would have liked to have stayed for more than two days, but we only got to stay for two days. Next time I’d like to stay for a month. The room was almost perfect and a great size. The management asked the name of my seven-year-old son before we arrived, and they had a personal handwritten note for him with a bag of his favorite treats, all ready to go when we got there. They even put us on the highest floor as we had requested ahead of time. “It was very comfy and the people there were nice” my son said. In fact, he said he’d rather go there than stay in Disney World (granted he’s never been to Disney World, but the point is he really liked it).

I have stayed at a few Westin locations, and this one is BY FAR the worst. I have stayed at motels that had better service and cleanliness. My credit card was charged twice with two different amounts, and customer service was not able to give me a clear answer as to why (one charge is still pending 10+ days later?). Our room ‘looked’ clean upon arrival – However, I found an earring by the nightstand, the mattress was showing and entailed a ‘yellowish’ tone, and WE HAD NO HOT WATER. When it was time to finally check out, the rugs by the elevator were soaked, and only one small fan was being utilized to rectify the mess. The wait staff and customer service are horrendous. I certainly will never be staying there again, and I am hesitant to even stay at a Westin location again. DO NOT RECOMMEND – 0/10.

Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Biggest complaint was that my room was not ready at check-in time and had to wait a few hours to get settled. I was there for an event and I can understand getting an entire hotel ready for an event, but it was disappointing to not be able to get a shower and change before having to attend meetings.

The location is the best part of this hotel. Very close to local attractions and the Riverwalk, which is a big plus.Lot's of issues during our stay. We were there for a wedding and booked under the wedding rate, however, when we checked in - they charged us way more than the rate and we had to go to the front desk every single morning because there was some sort of new charge on our credit card. Luckily - they were able to handle it, but not until the very last day. Also - they got our reservation completely wrong so every morning someone would come into our room, unannounced (not housekeeping) and tell us we were supposed to be checked out. There would be times where I would be changing or my wife was in the shower - and someone would just barge in without knocking. I really did not appreciate that.Lastly - the hotel staff was friendly, but our issues did not get resolved. Would not recommend staying here, as there are a few other hotels within walking distance.

Feeling disappointed. Staff was good and courteous, but there were several issues with house keeping. There was food from previous guest in refrigerator when I checked in. On same evening I asked them to remove but no one bothered to clean that up. Trash was not cleaned for 3 days even after reminding front desk every morning and evening. Iron was not good, no dental kit, and a lot of noise like someone keep moving stuff on floor. Also, landline in room and lift lobby does not work, so have to go downstairs personally for everything.

Overall, our experience with the Westin was a bit of a mixed bag. Initially they were great in setting up our hotel blocks for our wedding, but when it came to communication going forward, things seemed to fall through the cracks. I had to reach out multiple times about setting up an after party/brunch. Our representative would sometimes take up to a week to reply to emails, or would say that “someone on her team must have helped while she was away” even though I heard nothing from their team. We were most frustrated when the hotel block completely filled up a month and a half out, and we were never informed. We only found out the block was full when other guests tried to book rooms and were getting rejected. At this point we wanted to add more rooms to the block but nothing was available, even to book directly through their site. So many of our guests had to find accommodation elsewhere and get to the Westin for the shuttle. Additionally, for our after party, our contract llsted a “food and beverage minimum” which was to be expected. I knew our guests would hit the posted amount no problem in drink orders, so I was planning on getting outside food for the event, as what the Westin was charging for bar snack food was (ie- 25 chicken tenders for $75). However, a week before the event, our rep was asking for our food order as, apparently, they legally have to serve food if drinks are being served (mind you, we were in the hotel bar space) and the food cannot be from an outside source. Meaning, their “food and drink minimum” was really just a “food minimum” that had to be met before the event started. We couldn’t help but feel blindsided as it states no where in the contract that we had to purchase food through them. I will say, when we approached our rep about our concerns, she was able to work with us to discount the room rentals for the after party/brunch to help offset the now additional expected cost of food. With all of this being said, our main frustrations happened before our wedding had even started. Once we did get to the hotel, I will say they did provide great service for both events. The rooms were beautiful and clean, the hotel is spacious and pretty. Additionally, we ended up having more people come to the brunch than initial expected, and the staff was great at accommodating in providing extra seats and food for the additional guests. All in all, our experience with the Westin was positive, but I wish they had been better with communication leading up to the event, as the lack of resulted in a bit of panic and backtracking on our end.

Disappointed in this location. The price wasn’t worth the experience. Lounge chair in room had visible stains so they came and switched the chair. The shower was visibly dirty so I can tell they aren’t thoroughly cleaning these rooms. I was disgusted enough to not want to book at this location again.

A very nice property, adjacent to the Convention Center and across the street from The Bluerocks stadium. The hotel is near the river walk and a few restaurants in walking distance. The room was clean and had a small noisy refrigerator, and coffee station located in a closet. This was not optimal placement as it was difficult to really use.Had an amazing view of outfield at Frawley Stadium. Downtown Wilmington was out the window also, it provided a picturesque backdrop in the evenings, when the city was lit up.The front desk and hotel staff were over the top nice. They were professional, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There was a smile and a pleasant greeting every time. They offered a day membership to the nearby Planet Fitness at their cost as an addition with room. It was a great touch. The restaurant was very good for breakfast. It was fresh and cooked to order. The hamburger I had for lunch was exactly as I ordered and tasty with the wedge seasoned fries.Plenty of free parking across the street from the property, in easy walking distance.

I traveled with my hubby for his business conference. He said the conference accommodations were great and they had a wonderful set-up. That must be the Weston's focus. The sheets and shower curtain had stains on them and the carpet was dirty (previous lodger's chips and granola bar wrapper) with a large sticky spot on it when we checked in. The Wi-Fi was difficult to connect to and there were no accommodations in the lobby for the guests - not even water or coffee. The staff was very nice and the workout room was good (only 1 treadmill though), but overall I was not impressed and would not stay at The Westin again if I'm booking the hotel. We walked to mini golf and strolled down the Riverwalk, but everything else we drove to.

I DO NOT recommend staying in the hotel if you have kids.We are two families with a kid each staying at the Westin and requested cots in advance as part of our booking. When I called for the cots and went to the front desk to let them know that the cots are missing they told us it’s first come first serve and that there are no more cots.I mentioned that means one of us need to sleep on the floor since they failed to provide cots which we asked for in advance to which the front desk shrugged their shoulders. Westin’s marketing line of ‘sleep well with the Westin’ obviously doesn’t apply to us even though we asked for the cots in advance.A good judge of service is to see how staff deal with a situation where they made a mistake. Unfortunately in this case it was an epic fail insinuating that we should just sleep on the floor.I’m also a Marriot member which obviously means nothing here.

First, we are Marriott Platinum Elite and this hotel has yet to honor our upgrade. We have stayed here at least four times and our stays are usually in the middle of the week. Even calling ahead of time, staff at the front desk give us the same excuses. There are only eleven suites and a wedding party is coming in so none are available for your upgrade. So, we end up with a handicapped or end room. Rooms are extremely dated and in dire need of being refurbished. Lighting is dim and charging electronic devices can be a challenge. Chair in room is small and very uncomfortable. Room has a stale smell. Hallways are freezing probably trying to camouflage the stale air. Housekeeping is lax. We had no soap in our shower dispenser. Overall, the staff was nice and friendly. They did their best with what they had available. The hotel is in an excellent location and the restaurant serves a very nice breakfast for only $12. We've tried the Marriott in town but that wasn't much better than the Westin. At least parking is free at the Westin. Hope they soon refurbish this hotel because it could easily be a gem.

The front desk staff was fantastic. I like the check in online and picking up the key because you get to discuss local happeningsWe were there for the game with the Blue Rocks and Hudson Valley Renegades. It was great. The fireworks were fabulousThe Westin is across from the baseball field which worked out well for us. The rooms are excellent. We had a regular King Size room. Very comfortable and clean. The most spectacular item for me was the showed. There was a rainfall shower and a handheld shower wand. That's one of those large square shower heads that you can switch the water stream to the hand held one. Needed that level of relaxation after a long day. Loved it! Now I need to buy one for my own bath room! Although not on the water front everything else is within a 5 minute drive so it's worth saving a few bucks because it's not like an ocean view. Westin will be out hotel for future Wilmington trips.?
