Always a great place to bring your pets. Margherita is the best greeter they have!

The new automated phone answering system has dropped quality of service substantially. Wait times are excessive. It is not because of staff. I suspect staff were downsized or people who resigned or retired were not replaced as a result of the automated system and that’s why wait times are awful. On the morning of Monday Feb 12, I wasted 11 minutes on hold, only to be directed to voicemail. The last voicemail I left must have been missed. Staff promptly answered the phone prior to the automated voicemail system. Vet tech Kim is the best, as is Frank in Customer Service. We have spent a great deal of money throughout the 20 or so years with Windcrest. It feels as if clients are not valued anymore. If not for Dr. Anthony’s ability to calm and handle my temperamental parrot, I would find a different practice.

Wincrest saved my almost 15 year old German Shepard mix girl twice when she got pancreatitis, once from chocolate, and the other time from cat vomit. I appreciate that and drive the extra 10 miles to Wincrest.

Forever grateful to the Windcrest team for getting my pup in quickly for an initial consult and then much needed surgery. Everyone was wonderful, and my pup is doing much better now. Thank you Windcrest Animal Hospital!

I was in need of an emergency vet because my dog was having respiratory issues. I called them at about 5:30 am to see if I could bring him in. I don’t know the name of the person that answered the phone but she was extremely rude. I was trying to explain to her that my dog was having an issue breathing and she cut me off to say “we don’t have a Dr. on staff until 7 a.m so if your is dog is having respiratory issues you need to call other places.” I said your website says you are a 24 hour emergency vet. She responded with “um yeah well our vet just worked 20 hours so they are taking a break so you can call around to other places.” When you are seeking emergency help for your animal the last thing you want to deal with is this kind of treatment and if you’re not truly 24 hours then you need to take that off of your website. Also, why do have just one vet to cover a 24 hour facility? Your staffing issues are not your clients problem.I have never taken an animal to this place and now I will never take an animal there so I can see why there are so many negative reviews.

I really enjoyed my experience at Windcrest. The exotics vet Dr. Julian was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about his job. I had a bearded dragon I had some health concerns about and ended up asking him a bunch more questions because of the wealth of knowledge that he had. I also enjoyed the front desk staff. They were super nice and personable. I usually go to Middletown but our vet was out of town so would for sure recommend Windcrest to others.

Delaware is severely lacking in good emergency care for small animals. I came upon this practice during a recent crisis. I was more than happy with the professionalism there. The staff is caring. I felt very reassured leaving my dog with them. The cost for off hours emergency care is always high everywhere, however they were very much on par with what I expected to pay. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Adopted my first dog in 2020 and another in 2022. Windcrest is the only place I had to look for vet because they’ve been top notch in their wellness check, boarding and emergency services. The staff is knowledgeable and always calm and courteous. Couldn’t recommend more highly.

Nothing bad to say. My cat unexpectedly lost his functionality of his rear legs and we were referred over by blue pearl in Newark. The girl who answered was friendly and instructed us to park on the side and ring the bell. She came out right away and they took him in. Only took them a little time to diagnose him and let us know that he likely wouldn’t survive if we attempted treatment for his condition. I decided to put my little fluff down, they were compassionate and let me take all the time I needed with him and gave us a blanket to make him comfortable for the experience. For payment, they laid out options and made everything clear and up front so there were no surprises. I’ve never had to go through this before, but they made the process as pain free as it could have been for losing a best friend. Thank you to your team.

Brought my pup in for an emergency a few weeks ago. She needed stitches for a bad laceration on her leg. Then back a week later when my wildchild got it infected and ripped a stitch. Windcrest staff were amazing through everything. Was it expensive? Yes, but any vet emergency care would be. They gave me a best case and worst case scenario price wise. Offered me an option to try and save a little by coming in a little later for an urgent care appointment. I stayed with the emergency visit and the price was still less than initially quoted. Staff was very nice and explained everything to me. They did everything to make sure my scared pup was as comfortable as possible.

Absolutely amazing experience! The office was super clean and inviting. I had such a hard time finding an exotic vet office that took bearded dragons and I am so glad that I found this one. From the moment that I called and made an appointment I knew we were in great hands. Everyone was so helpful and kind. Our veterinarian Dr. Julian took his time to give us ample information about how to take care of our new family member that unfortunately came home to us already sick from the pet store we got him from. He was super personable and we really appreciated his personality. This is definitely our new vet office from now on until forever!

Awhile back I started going here to take my rescued bearded dragon somewhere that had veterinarians knowledgeable and accredited to care for reptiles.I did not know of anywhere else near me that had an exotic vet on staff so I was hoping for the best. Dr. Hammill was amazing- just magical in terms of her care, experience and comprehensiveness. The reptile I was trying to rehab was an abuse case and she was really patient with her and helped me get her better. Sadly, Dr. H left but then I got to meet their other exotic veterinarian: Dr. Julian ! He is there now and I cannot recommend him enough if you are looking for a reptile savvy vet! We are really lucky to have them in the area for reptile care as many other places in this country do not and people end up driving or using different animal vets instead.Anyway, this was long but I think this entire place tries their best to help animals and their owners. They even assisted a local animal shelter with emergency cases in the past. I have only had positive experiences myself and so have my tortoise and lizards who go here too when they need help.

Came home to my mother's dog Lexi (9 year old dachshund) lethargic and having blood in her stool. Mom sent me here with Lexi. They are short staffed and, having worked in similar situations, I feel they handled themselves well. They had blood work and x-rays done quicker than I expected, gave me all my options, and were patient and professional as I relayed them to my mother over the phone. I was giving quotes and different treatment plans in just in case moments. Otherwise, we were on our way home with my mom's dog feeling better. My mother also had more peace of mind. That was also much appreciated haha. Not as pricey as I thought it would be either, as other ERs would normally be in the $800 range just for a visit. Overall, very pleased

I brought my cat in for emergency care recently. The whole staff from the front desk who took my initial call to the 2 vet techs who assisted were kind, professional, and thorough. Dr Julian was so kind and spent a lot of time with us. Admittedly, my cat can become very aggressive at the vet and despite her behavior, they were completely loving and gentle with her. We so appreciate their care!
