This Place Is Not For A Family To Be They Don’t encourage you ! They don’t motivate you to do positive things All they do is LIE ! Make up things they have favoritism in here these staff don’t recognize they own wrongs but wanting to keep writing people up for nothing I’ve been here 2x and they ain’t it ! First time I didn’t say nothing because I didn’t wanna get kick out but now that I’m speaking up and telling the truth on them now they wanna kick me out ! They are kicking me out because I CALLED THE HIGHER UP PEOPLE ON THEM And said that everything that’s getting donated to us these staff take it home for themselves and then we get food donated and they taking our food stamps but have the food stamp swiper in there office some of our kids have disabilities and they can’t accommodate no other food for our children it’s people that been here for over a year and they get to have extensions but we can’t ! These staff and counselors are MESSY ! THEY REVEAL OUR PERSONAL BUSINESS TO OTHER RESIDENTS IN HERE ! Since I’ve called the higher up people on them NOW THEY DONT WANNA HELP ME IM NOTICING THE TRUTH ABOUT THIS PLACE NOW THEY WANNA KICK ME OUT With my 5 year old son with autism with no where to go but on the streets what type of shelter is this what kind of people do this to people ! SO MIND YOU THEY GAVE ME A 4day letter notice today dated for the 15 but the letter say I have to be out of here on the 17th September that’s not 4 days and on top of that the YWCA KICKING ME OUT BECAUSE I SAID THE TRUTH AND NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH THEY CANT EVEN SHOW ME THE AMERAS WHEN I ASK TO SEE WHAT THEY SEE AND THEY WILL NOT SHOW ME AT ALL ! YALL GOT FAVORITISM IN HERE AND YALL SOME PEOPLE BEEN IN HERE FOR MORE THEN A YEAR AND YALL GIVING EVERYBODY ELSE EXTENSION THEY WRITING PEOPLE UP FOR DUMB STUFF NOT GIVING US WARNINGS BUT WANNA KEEP WRITING US UP THESE STAFF SMOKE (weed ) ON THE JOB AND THEY DONT GET IN TROUBLE FOR IT ! So basically they are kicking me out because I told on them . THIS IS NOT A GOOD SHELTER FOR WOMAN NOR MEN

Still don't have a decent home. And we have been referred to dishonest landlords etc. I just don't get it.

Called the place and asked for help and the lady was rude and told me they only accept women and children and because I was a man it was my choice to be homeless, absolutely no help.

So we live across from Empowerment CTR on North Madison Street in Wilmington De 19801. Employees park over in front of our home with no caps for residents paying rent with babies, children and disabled seniors. Know it's YMCA employees cause no one here owns a Mercedes or seeing employees park and walk to YMCA. They have street on front , two sides and parking lot for employees to park. So much for helping the COMMUNITY!!! And a Lady with a 2 yr old had to carry her child and groceries from in front of YMCA to her home. Shame on u for not looking out for the community
Just what makes YOUR organization looking good to get that funding. So PARK SOMEWHERE ELSE SO WE CAN PARK IN FRONT OF OUR HOMES. NO EXCUSES!!!!!;;!

They helped me in my time and need but you also have to want to be helped it not all on them. We had our own room they helped me get housing and made sure I was in my feet even after leaving. So many programs and opportunities. The staff was very good with me and I had a all around good experience during a tough time.

It's a ok place to stay if you don't have anywhere to go and homeless. My daughter didn't like it no TV in the room can't eat in your room. Can't take anything to your room but water. Little spiders in the bathroom and shower.

They have alot of lazy caseworkers that seems to be more happy to tell you what yoi cant do then what you can do. Also they are horrible with the men that comes here like they feel some type away. Fire the whole staff and get more passionate non judging ppl to work here and a work out plan for the staff bc the laziness is just crazy.
