I am writing this with tears in my eyes, and a pain I can't describe. This place is the house of horrors. Instead of recommending me to the cancer clinic for pets where they do biopsy, diagnose and operate, banfeild did a procedure that cost seventeen hundred dollars . A procedure that quicken Kongo situation to the point I had to put him to sleep today at the cancer clinic.Just for money , they knew they couldn't help him, they knew once they cut a peice out and not the whole thing and air get into it his chances of surviving or minimal. They didn't care , they couldn't pass up seventeen hundred dollars. This place is for profit with butchers as vets. Please do not and if you are I'm urging you to seize and decist from taking your beloved pet to this house of horrors. From 0 to 10, my Dog Kongo, went in to banfeild with a 3 , left with 6 , suffered up to a full 10 fore I had to put him down today. The procedure banfeild did needed to be done at the cancer center not at a basic vet stop.Banfeild perform a biopsy, one that require immediate treatment after diagnosis especially if its cancer or related. immediate treatment banfeild does not provide. I had to wait three weeks for on appointment for treatment at the cancer clinic as my dog died in my hands slowly and painfully. All for money knowing they can't couldn't offer the help my dog needs.Kongo was almost nine yrs old. And for a dog his age he was very healthy very active as is medical records show, give and take a few allergy outbreak. But there's no history of Kongo being a sick feebly dog. Until the butchers of banfeild just for money did a procedure they have no business doing. From experience, just from looking at the obvious symptoms that Kongo exhibited and was still strong pulling and bucking happy to be at the vet for help but instead got his life span shortened. the cancer clinic for pets should've been recommended.I feel so empty and lost, empty quiet house, no greeting, no nothing, my dog for Nearly ten years gone through greed and negligence.

We had taken our dog, Sophie to Banfield for almost 5 years but the service is awful and so glad we are changing to a different Vet. Most recently we set up an appointment for Sophies paw as her nail had started bleeding and she was limping. Due to the storms and road closures, I called letting them know I'd be there 15 minutes late due to traffic. After getting there 15 minutes late, they told me they could only see her through dropping her off. I told them I couldn't drop off and would rather they just take a quick look at her and they refused. They said they have an appointment coming in the next few minutes. At this time it was 9:18am and I know they don't schedule except every half hour so I called them out on it and asked again if they could just look at it quickly, to their refusal. They don't care about the dogs otherwise they'd have at least told us if it was serious or not. The vet was clearly not doing anything as we had the time booked and she didn't want to be bothered as the tech quickly went and asked if she could see us without dropping off. Our previous visit they charged us $400 to identify what was clearly a cyst that was able to be popped by ME. Some at Banfield may care about our pet, but many clearly don't! Find yourself a real Vet!

Have to jump through hoops to get proper care . Just find a private office corporate isn’t worth it . Every other request is “call corporate “ so I’m not too sure what the front desk job is but sit there ?

They have an affordable wellness plan with different options. This allows you to have no charges for your visit and different perks depending on your plan. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. I am super happy with my service so far

Very corporate, they do not care for your pets. It's all about money. They told me they would keep my pet for approx 2 hours. 4 hours later they still couldn't give me timeframe. My cat is super old and he needs constant eating otherwise he would puke. Had I known he would be kept this long (6 hours later) without food, I wouldn't have agreed.

I currently pay about $60 a month for the pet insurance program. It is not worth it I just took my dog to this hospital last week and end up paying almost $600. Why am I paying $60 a month if I’m gonna have to pay $600 to simply get a test done for the dog. This program to me seems to be a rip off it is not worth the money. Is it is if they’re taking advantage of the customers that are coming to the hospital. I was told that the test would cost $374. The other test was almost $200. I end up paying almost $600. I’m absolutely disgusted by this pet insurance program that this hospital offers. I would advise anyone to be extremely careful with signing up for this program because it’s almost a waste of money. Money does not grow on trees, although I love my dog it just seems like it’s a rip off. This test only took about 15 minutes and cost me $600 out-of-pocket just doesn’t add up.

Shame on this company!! Our love of our life was euthanize this week. Sadest day of our life. Tried cancelling our wellness plan only to be told it's a contract and still have to pay the next 7 months even though our pet is no longer with us. Truly unethical considering your worst loss and emotional only to be told you are in a contract. We all know that's not how they are selling thewellness plan on the store. Fyi e still have not heard anything from them. Beware

Banfield had to euthanize our boxer of 8 years the love of our family! We we're told to call an 800# to cancel his wellness plan. Shame on Banfield, only to be insulted telling us that the wellness plan is actually a contract and we still had 7 months to pay. Unreal, after a devastating loss only to be told by the same company that was taking care of our fur baby that we still had to pay out the contract even though our baby is gone!! Obviously they only care about the$$$ and not us. Do not purchase this wellness plan. We've called sent emails with no response!! SHAME,SHAME, SHAME!

This is a serious lesson learn from us on Banfield Pet Hospital, which you should know during and after at the discharge time to prevent headaches, frustration and surprise later:-During the call(s) from the Vet for your approval(s) on their recommended procedure(s) to your pet: Always ask if there are some optional procedure which might be less expensive and don't ever forget to ask for the head-up expectation. Keep in mind that the follow up visit, if the previous treatment was not successful, would be more serious procedures, therefore they would be very happy to charge you more. For instance, after the 471 visit for our cat's constipation, the vet just gave the antibiotic and SQ-fluid and to her expertise, laxative med was not necessary! Guess what, the cat had still not been able to defecate till another charge of $505 for a simple treatment of to loose hard stool! In our case: we brought our cat in for the 2 days of constipation, and the charge was $471 plus, and 4 days later, the cat still has not defected, even though we called BPH to report her constipation and her loss of appetite every single day to the front desk and the rely: "wait for few day and see if the issue is till there ....!" On the 4th day we called and the front desk and the tech nurse told us: "You should bring her in now!" or " Within 48 hrs, you should bring her in now!" On the 4th day after the first visit, we were allowed to bring her in and the final charge was additional $505 for procedures of 2 enemas and X-ray, to soften the hard feces and allowed the cat to pass the watery feces at home. The X-ray is expensive, at least to me, almost $400!The result of X-ray is negative, meaning the organ and indigestive route/system is fine with no obstruction. My point was this: in the 3 days of waiting time frame, I could be advised to use some laxities (over the counter) or they could prescribe or apply some Lactulose on our cat to see help the cat to defecate before using the fancy way of X-ray, a $400-procedure a pop!Of course, the vets would never admit why they did not approach the easy way and less expensive way first. It is our cat and our money to worry and pay! So be very careful with the big organization like Banfield Pet Hospital, the bigger, the culture of lack of giving informative communication. If you in doubt please review the article " The Most Common Complain Triggers in Veterinary Practice ( and how to avoid them) " by Claire Neall from Veterinary Mediation Services. We have not mentioned about the estimate on our cat age from 3 vets from this BPH at Altamonte Springs, especially pet age is one of the important factors for diagnosis and treatments:-1rst Vet's estimate our cat age: 3-5 years old (during the first visit for vaccines and package of OWP: $371 )-2nd Vet's : 9-10 years old ( unsuccessful constipation treatment through SQ-Fluid + antibiotic pills for UIT from blood tests : $471+$37 for 3lb prescribed recommended food from their exclusive company-Hills)-3rd Vet's: around 1 year old!!! What?!! ( for continued on constipation as soften the hard feces, X-ray and lactulose + simulant meds : $505, and finally with a few printed pages on cat constipation. ) Another information on med prescription: you should ask for option so you can order on line or some generic options. For instance, if you ask for prescription you can order a bottle for 473 ml bottle vs they gave a bottle of 60 ml (1/8th of the original bottle)+ 3 syringes. We lost some amount of Lactulose due to cat's rejection and our inexperience as well. We wondered if the staff nurse lacked of critical thinking for not taking losing liquid med through pet, or demonstrating their skill of math, or !The manager of BPH also advice to communicate with them through email. But when we did, they did not answer till we called and reminded them that we send another email. In this case it related two days of diarrheas and refused to answer on the 3rd day. Did they care for my cat if she could have a severe dehydrat

I will never bring my nor anyone’s pet to this location. I’m sure they have some competent people there, just not the ones I deal with. The manager doesn’t seem to care or listen to what customers complain about. She states what you have been told even though you haven’t and she wasn’t even there for the conversation. You as a customer might as well be barking or meowing. She wouldn’t know. This is the third and final time they screw one of my loved ones over. I hear the Casselberry location is much better. I will give them a try. But, I will NEVER go to the one in Altamonte again. If I could give less stars, I would.

I like the chain personally…. Because I can ask for whatever medicine I want and they’ll just give it to me because they have no personal attachment to the animals in any way. Just take my money and don’t ask any questions. LOL
