Sad to find out it was closed. The house is in need of serious repairs. The Chapman Botanical Garden is in disarray and not worth the term botanical Garden.

The house area temporarily closed as stated. However, my husband and I decided to visit the botanical area on our vacation. The Chapman Botanical Garden area was certainly not worth the time. Tall grass, weeds covering flower beds and benches. Serious lawn & garden maintenance needs to be done. Certainly not a good attraction for those visiting out of town hoping to see beautiful landscape, gardens, and flowers surrounded by nature.

The grounds and gardens make for a relaxing walk. The trails are nice. Great place to walk the dog or let the kids burn off some energy. It's quiet and serene.Dog-friendliness: Nice trails for walking the dog.Picnic area: There are picnic tables at the garden entrance.

I always love going to park in the morning or late afternoon for my walks. I enjoyed it as always. I was a little hesitant to walk all the way into in the park due to the height of grass. I'm aware that with grass at a certain height comes snakes. But I know the keepers of the park are very diligent with the upkeep and it is appreciated, so I know that they will take of it.

The house is closed until renovations can be done. You can walk around the grounds. Lots of good photo spots.

The Orman House is a fun home to tour. Built in 1838 and full of antiques and artifacts from the twelve acre estate. A great place to walk as all the trails are paved and includes two board walks through the botanical gardens. The park is free to visit. The home tours are only $2

The gardens are free and well maintained. I was there in December so the grounds were not lush, but still there were some blooms and there were butterflies. Also, the house has tours but my timing was not there. You can still walk around the house and look in the windows.

We thoroughly enjoyed touring this house. There's so much to look at. Much original to the family. Ranger Roundtree is so passionate and knowledgeable about the history. He is a true asset to this state park!

Super informative and detailed tour! Plus, it's only $2 a person! I especially loved the room with all the women's fashion. So cool!

Lovely antebellum house being lovingly preserved. It's pieces are genuine, original-descendent-of-the family owned, and beautifully kept. The displays are accurate and immaculately clean. This is an up-close and personal look at Victorian living in the early settling of Florida and well worth the time.
