“The location of the Gibson is the star of the show. Easy to find, and plenty of parking in the off season. We stayed in the mansion. It was neat to stay in a building with so much history. However, there were drawbacks. The blinds didn’t cover the windows properly and there were no curtains. So there was no way to darken the room and a lack of privacy. We had a door (room B122) in our room that opened to the front porch - there was a keyhole that was open on the door. We put a sugar packet in the hole. There was beautiful green tile on a portion of the fireplace hearth. The remainder of the hearth was unfinished. The shower was gorgeous marble, but was unsealed on one side and water spilled out into the bathroom floor with every shower. Lots of potential, but still needs a lot of work. Front desk was friendly. Restaurant was good and service there was excellent.”
