I've used Christian Brothers for car repairs over 10 years. Not this particular location for that length of time, but at other locations in Georgia & Arkansas. The experience has always been 5 star and as an organization they really do stand behind their work with a great warranty. Unfortunately, this weeks experience failed miserably when compared to all previous experiences. Had my 2012 Ford Escape towed in because it wouldn't start. Some online research reflected it could be a faulty ignition and I stated this in the notes when I scheduled the appointment. When I got the repair estimate there was a rather lengthy list of recommended repairs to include a new starter, new battery, new serpentine belt, a full tune-up, a coolant flush and fuel injection servicing. The estimate total was very expensive. I called to question the estimate, especially the serpentine belt which was listed as being worn - I'd replaced the serpentine belt 2 months prior and knew it wasn't worn. Advised the technician I questioned the entire estimate since they'd stated the belt was worn and also questioned why there was no mention of having tested the ignition switch since I'd included it in the notes. He committed to getting back with me with some answers. In some over an hour, I was contacted and advised the vehicle was now starting with no problem and they had eliminated the need to replace the starter (I think the cost for that service alone was over $400 in the estimate) and they had determined the alternator was also good - the initial estimate hadn't mentioned the alternator at all. I was told they had put a fresh battery on the vehicle and now everything was good. The technician also said several of the recommended items in the estimate had been driven by the age and mileage of the vehicle. So the very large estimate (well over $1000) was eliminated with the replacement of the battery. Had I not known the serpentine belt was less than 2 months old, I might not have questioned the estimate and had the battery and starter replaced - thus been out hundreds of unnecessary dollars. Clearly the technician failed to effectively troubleshoot the starting problem with my vehicle before generating the estimate. I'm extremely disappointed with this Christian Brothers franchise as the inflated estimate without effective troubleshooting makes them no different than any other national chain (ie Goodyear, Firestone, etc). I also did reach out to the franchise owner by email two days ago before posting this review. Still waiting to hear back from him.

My car wouldn't start at 355pm. My wonderful neighbor jumped my car and I headed to Christian Brothers and was there at 430pm. They ran a diagnostic test and installed my new battery. I was out in a hour. They are truly amazing.

Today my car broke down on the off ramp in Apollo Beach. After sitting for a bit it started and a tow truck was going to take to long. The highway patrol told me about this place so I called and they were so nice. I drove my car there and just wanted to make sure it was safe to drive back to St Pete. They were very busy but they scanned my car and said there were no obvious problems probably software update. They were so kind and sent me on my way and I am home safe. Alejandro was amazing a very polite and knowledgeable young man. I highly recommend this place to my friends and anyone that live out there.

Everything, they were waiting for me outside, explaining everything to be done. Offer me coffee or water. Explained others services that I may need eventually without make me feel pressured. Totally worth it! Super recommended. They give you military discount too.Service: Oil change

We all go to a mechanic because we trust that they have knowledge of what they’re doing. I didn’t get that feeling here. They were about to charge me because the mechanic didn’t know where my obd2 plug in was. The tab got to 1600 before they can get to the issue I explained. I def pulled my car out of there asap.Service: Transmission

I needed to get my starter replaced and they got me back on the road. I bought the part and they were the only place that would install it. They communicated with me on their policy, any issues and recommendations with my vehicle, and their progress. I will definitely use their services again.

This CBA is worth every star!!Tommy was super helpful to us - he was able to get us in for a vehicle inspection PRIOR to purchasing this vehicle just to make sure we knew the exact condition of it. They are very efficient, honest, communicative, and kind…go give them your business!!

I give them a 10star.Warm welcoming. They answered all my questions.. They stayed in contact with me all throughout the day while my vehicle was having four brand new tires. An oil change and a transmission flush. I didn't have to wait. They have a courtesy car. They took me home and came back and picked me up when my vehicle was done They did an amazing job and I will take my vehicle back to them.

Customer service was great, mechanical experience was extremely poor. I paid almost $400 to have my car looked at along with a courtesy inspection while they were already in there. Came back saying the fuel pump needed to be replaced and that the other components looked fine. Except the fuel pump didn't go bad, the fuel sender unit had rotted from never being replaced in 20 years. Which goes to show it wasn't even looked at, you didn't even have to take out the unit to see the plastic bits free floating and no longer connected. They never checked any basic care components like the timing chain otherwise they would have noticed my head gasket was falling apart. No warning onto my rotors even though they are visibly scorn, no courtesy with letting me know about what abs sensor is bad even though you can only briefly see it on the report. They didn't even notice my fuel coils were rusted on 2 coils. I took the car back and changed all the components myself. The prices are a scam here, $400 for the fuel pump and $450 for the labor. I bought the same part for $75 and took 20-30 minutes to replace. Took less than 2 hours to fix all the parts on my own, save your money and go to a real mechanic shop and not this scam.Edit: Turns out they never fully secured the line feeding into my turbo and the pressure shot it out of place throwing up 4 new codes, the bracket was never even tightened, im missing 2 screws to secure the line and now I have an evap code that wont go away.

Clean, friendly, and priced fairly. I had a car tire repair done on a sports car with low-profile tires and very expensive wheels. They repaired the tire without damaging the wheel.

Brought my truck in for an oil change after seeing their coupon and received good service for a good price. And they didn't try to oversell anything. Knew I was gonna have a few recommendations and they didn't overcharge I feel and were honest. Would recommend.

Awful, awful, awful - We have brought the car in for an Air Conditioning repair 3 times. They performed multiple paid diagnostics and returned it broken. They have had the car for more than a month. Today, we received another estimate for the same unit $1500+ more. They claim they will call and yet nothing shows up on your phone and messages are left.I have heard this from my neighbors on the Apollo Beach sites and Mirabay sites. The sites say the repairs are not done correctly and costs are multiples of what others are charged (per these sites). Easy to believe, given our experience.Services: Tires
