“Of all the antique shops on Oak Street in Arcadia, Maddy's Antiques is my favorite. The most expensive antique I ever bought came from this store. I bought a vintage ice box which is now the focal point of my kitchen! When you walk in the door, the first thing you notice is the delicious aroma from scented candles that work perfectly with this store's carefully curated early Americana country kitchen antiques. The window displays are creative and inspiring. The store is arranged well so you can walk around without fear of knocking some little glass knick-knack on the floor. It's open and spacious instead of overly cluttered with junk. Everything is placed with intention and all pieces are shown to their best advantage. If your time is limited, I highly recommend starting on this end of Oak Street and move east. Stores close promptly at 4 PM and you don't want to miss Maddy's Antiques!”

“The opera house is beautiful, it's good to see such a historic building be cared for after all these years. It is sad that there's no elevator or ramp for people with wheelchairs to easily access the building upstairs but I understand that you have to do what the historical society tells you. It's still a wonderful place to hang out, especially if you are into Alt fashion or are looking for something witchy, Subcultures downstairs and The Midnight Dove upstairs had you covered!”

“The owner is very friendly and very informative about the local antique scene (and boy oh boy is there a local antique scene!). There's quite a mix of antiques and vintage items and usually a sale of some sort, if I'm reading the other reviews right. There are some bargains to be had here if you're willing to do a little digging and taking advantage of the sale. The store is fairly well-organized with the occasional pile of fun to sift through here and there. There's a bit of something for everyone so be sure to take your time and poke around. I didn't purchase anything the first time I went in but I already have my wish list started for when I return!”

“This place is an absolute gem. You get all the nostalgia vibes as soon as you walk in the door. I visit there several times a year to get my vintage shopping fix. I purchased so many wonderful pieces there over the years, from vanities, cupboards, and smaller accents. It's about a 45 minute drive for me, but so worth it. The owner is very pleasant and you can tell her heart embraces everything vintage and shabby. I'm heading back there in a few weeks with a friend and already anticipating a satisfying shopping experience. This darling wash cupboard/stand was my most recent purchase. Thank you for offering such pretties. ~ Rachel”

“Antiques & More is one of 20 antique stores lining Oak Street in historic downtown Arcadia. Arcadia was destroyed in a fire in 1905 and the buildings on Oak Street are from the early 1900's when the city was rebuilt. This store is located in the L.L. Morgan building which was the first building to be rebuilt after the fire. The upper facade of the building bears Morgans name and the 1906 date. On the first floor Morgan sold hardware and furniture and the top floor was the mortuary. When you look in the back on the first floor you can still see the pulley system that was used to hoist the bodies up to the top floor! I had a wonderful time visiting with Glenda who is the owner of this store. She told me how she used to have a Sear catalog business and rent to own business before selling antiques. In addition to selling her own items she also rents space to other vendors. Only the first floor of the building is open and she is using the two upper floors for storage. In the store you will find several rooms stuffed with housewares, furniture, bric-a-brac, jewelry, books, and a ton of other stuff. If you are interested in history she sells two great books about Arcadia on her counter. I was interested in the vintage Pyrex dishes in the hard to find turquoise snowflake pattern with glass lid. It is a rare color and even harder to find with a lid. The seller wanted top dollar and after a quick phone call she refused to budge on the price so I passed. I am still looking for a bargain. Although I left empty handed meeting Glenda was a highlight of my trip. There is so much to explore here and Glenda is wonderful about providing information on the items in her store and about Arcadia.”

“I've never been into an antique shop nor have I ever had the interest. Came in with my friend since we were having tea in the area and antique stores are her thing. I was merely there for support lol. Didn't really see anything that was of interest to me however she got a 10 pc Lenox tea set for $75! Great deal. Staff was friendly when we arrived and was there to help when she made her selection. They even held the goods until we could bring the truck around to pick it up. Items were reasonably priced and the store has PLENTY to choose from. Worth a visit to see if you can find your treasure!”

“Loved the shop...I shop here quite frequently and love it! This last saturday I made a purchase and left one of the items behind on the counter. Please correct your telephone on your Google site as it is saying it is out of service. I do need to call but need a good store number to call...please advise.”
