Smaller than most commisary but it has alot of stuff. During holidays or three day weekends they are out of stock of a lot, especially bottled water and chicken, so stock up the week before. You can get custom sushi and sandwiches made. There are almost always electric shopping carts to use, they have atleast ten. I appreciate that the baggers don't repeatedly ask to assist to my vehicle.Self scan is an option but it's the longest, slowest line.*There are almost always cars parked outside of parking spaces for hours making it difficult and unsafe to visit. For example parking on the side of the handicap vehicle spots and parked blocking the exit for the Commisary.

So, I used to work there at the commissary under the contractors of right2work. I was going through a real tough time at the moment before I got the job. I got the job through a friend that was working there. At first everything seemed fine, but after a few weeks working there I started noticing racial favoritism. So, if you are black individual then I highly recommend you get a job here!!! No matter what you do and you can even get fired more than four times and just get your job right back. Actually you can even be escorted by the Navy officer from this company and still be able to come back to work! I lost my job clearly pointing out the racist discrimination that I was observing. I wasn't escorted by no Navy police off the premises but yet I can no longer get a job through Right to work corporation! So yeah, if you're black go get a job 20$ an hour and you you literally can do whatever you want :)

If picked over produce, empty shelves and lack of selection while not offering competitive prices interest you, this is your place. Wouldn't recommend.

February 28, 2024Moved here from Augusta, Georgia and used to shop the Commissary at Fort Gordon/Eisenhower. The difference is ridiculous!!! This place is a very disappointing shopping experience.1. Some Item prices are not competitive, so you really have to compare!2. Some items are not priced!3. Workers must be hiding in the back, because nobody is around if you have a question or if you find one (meat), they say “that’s not my department”.4. Sale items are nonexistent.5. Shelves aren’t stocked completely or empty.6. Cashiers are void of emotion and/or rude. What is going on at this Commissary that these conditions exist? I’ve also noticed that none of these comments are replied to by Management.

I only go there if I am in the immediate area, prices not the best and EXPIRATION DATES PEOPLE. Why do baggers expect a tip if they will not acknowledge you, not even a hello. Too busy talking with other bagger. It is neaarly impossible to get help. SAD.

Do you think people don't eat food on Mondays? You think people only eat 6 days a week? What about families or children? You work for the service members who work 24/365. Yall should be ashamed

Mayport Naval Station Commissary is an absolute joke. We typically shop NAS Jax commissary but 2 months ago we tried Mayport. First thing we noticed was how how much smaller it is but then Mayport is a smaller base. Now the fruit looked old even some of the grapefruit had green mold on it. Shelves were empty and no one was around even to stock the shelves. Oh and at checkout, after all our stuff was bagged that was it. I’m disabled so my wife had to do all the pushing of the cart and loading of our bags. No bagger assistance. Needless to say we went back to NAS JAX. Well today we gave Mayport a second chance. Once again, they didn’t fail to let us down. Empty shelves, out of produce, half their coolers not working, and employees walking and standing around doing nothing. Guess the old adage “ Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me” is alive and well at MAYPORT COMMISSARY!

Love coming to the commissary for the prices. The meat prices are extremely low compared to other grocery stores. They are closed on Monday but I love coming on Tuesday bc everything is stocked. Sometimes on Sunday the shelves will be empty. The service is always great and everyone is friendly .

I started doing my grocery shopping here about 5 months ago and at first it was great. I could usually get everything I needed and it's always cheaper than Walmart or Publix. As of lately though the refrigerated meats like salami/bacon/ sausage as well as sour cream and yogurt has been a total mess and usually full of things that have already expired. Yesterday when I went grocery shopping, sept 18th, there was yogurt that expired on August 31, sour cream that expired on Sept 11, salami that expired August 27th and Jimmy Dean sausage rolls that expired on Sept 16th. I don't think it's a staff shortage issue as there are a lot of employees present anytime I go shopping. It's either a lack of care or a lack of training. But they really need to start doing better, And paying attention to the dates when they are restocking. It's unacceptable honestly.

ALWAYS out of stock and disheveled mess 99% of the time. I’ve purchased fruits and veggies here that are bad when I cut into them at home. Very dissatisfied and would sadly say I’d rather spend money at Walmart for groceries.

Fresh produce when you get here early you get a better selection. If not stuff picked over. Meats are best in town

One of the better stocked commissary in the system. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful.
