Mistreatment of a client. On Saturday, November 25th at 6 pm I went to the West Marine store in Aventura, Fl. I needed to replace two products that I purchased the previous week at the Fort Lauderdale store that arrived incomplete (NMEA200 Starter Kit and Battery Hold -Down Tray).The person at the checkout rudely told me that he had sold me that product a few months ago and that it was complete and I could not return it. I told him that he was wrong since he had bought it three days ago at the Fort Lauderdale store. This seller not only insinuated that I had stolen the missing pieces in a very rude manner, and without first asking, but also refused to replace the missing pieces and/or exchange them for ones that were complete.I had to go to Fort Lauderdale store again today, losing more than an hour and a half of my work to make the change. In this store they treated me in a cordial manner and without doubting my word.The Aventura store seller must understand that if West Marine sells an incomplete product, it is the responsibility of the store and not the buyer and beyond accusing one of having stolen them, they should apologize for the inconvenience and facilitate the exchange process for the customer.I have been a personal customer at West Marine for more than 6 years and a West Marine Pro customer, through my company, for more than 2 years, without having made a single return or exchange request so far.Because of sellers like this, your reputation as a company can quickly go down and you will lose a customer. It would be good to train this type of people to be, first, respectful towards the client and then to solve the problems they have.That's why today, West Marine Aventura gets a 1.

Such weird energy like no one wanted to assist! I went here for a fishing rod carrying case, walked into the store no one greeted me despite 4 reps at the front. I enquired, was told there was none, and so asked about fishing gloves and I was pointed into the general direction where they were located. A rep was walking in the same direction didn’t even offer to point me exactly to where they were. 45 seconds later I see her looking at me from a couple aisles away while I struggled to make a decision. The store, mind you, was empty. It was the most bizarre customer experience I’ve ever observed.
