Very good customer service experience. Opened up an account online and went inside the Avon Park, Florida branch and was Very impressed with the customer service I received. Almost unheard of these days. Looking forward to banking with South State Bank more in the future. Thank you! Sean McCollum.

Their app is pathetic. (1) It buries the info of your new second card behind the label of your first card. (( It should be listed as a card section instead. )) Not realizing this nesting, I glanced at the screen and saw there was a $0 card balance, no issues. But the next week I received a delinquency bill for the second card balance tucked behind the first. Ok, so I didn't immediately remember I had a second card with them, but the app is unprofessional. (2) Creating an external bank transfer connection takes much too long. After we verified the two test deposit amounts, it should have taken them less than 24 hours to do the rest of their processing. I need some green cash, but because Southstate absorbed Centerstate and then closed our town's branch office, I recently had to create an account locally at SUNCOAST CREDIT UNION. I will transfer my funds eventually because of this delay in moving small amounts, and because of the late fee on my new card's first billing cycle.

I just opened an account and was trying to check my balance over the phone. It's impossible! My debit card was activated at the time I opened the account. I wanted to put this account with my billing info on my monthly bills. The phone banking would not accept my pin or ss # I tried calling. What a joke! After being told my waiting time was 16 minutes I waited. 45 minutes later I hit the prompt for a call back another 40 minutes later someone called and moments into the call was dropped. You'd think she'd call right back but noooo so here I sit on hold for another 55 minutes. Horrible customer service. Horrible experience through phone banking.

i was in the process of buying a home and with the help and long hard work of the ppl that work at this bank did what they needed to to get me into one.... with there help and the help of Calvin Osha from Century 21, i wouldn't be in my first new home..... i want to give a big shout out to Byron and Andrea Webb for all there help on there end.......thank you
