Apart from the kind staff and the old style decoration, the rest is a disaster. Rooms not comfortable at all. Bedrooms are connected through bathroom and WC which is not so comfortable while staying with your colleagues.Doors and windows are very old wooden made so you hear everything...You can hear the doors being slammed in the corridor, the train passing through the night, all the V8 eqipped cars, the water of the sink used on the closest rooms...Not recommended at all ...Also nothing special to visit in that area.

The hotel is beautiful. We were there on a Friday and ate from the delicious buffet. All the waitstaff were so professional, helpful and friendly. The pianist was such an added bonus.Food & drinks: The Friday buffet was delicious.

We went for a class reunion. Wonderful music from a piano player in the lobby. The buffet was not good. Fried pork chops about 3/8" thick, dry and tough as leather. Same for the chicken. It was so dry you could barely chew it. I didn't try the fish. Salads were ok. Deserts were good.

A must for history buffs and those who enjoy good home cooking. The Jac is a historic destination in the heart of Avon Park.It is a beautiful historic hotel that boasts beautifully furnished public areas and comfortable and gorgeous accommodations. They have a beautiful pool and an on site restaurant that serves delectable dishes on their grand buffet. They serve lunch all year long and they are well known for their delicious Sunday Grand buffet with a myriad of dishes and aide to choose from as well as a rotation of unique special dishes.Everything is made from scratch and fresh... good home cooking right down town. Where better to enjoy a meal than in a beautiful historical building!

Beautiful historic hotel. Friendly staff. We just stopped to eat. They have a buffet that sounds wonderful, but we didn't eat there as we wanted a light meal. I think we'll try the buffet another time.

We booked a Master suite with a king size bed for a weekend getaway from our busy work/home life not far from Avon Park. However we got a double bed room which was quite frankly cluster phobic. There wasn’t a dresser for our clothing to have easy access to it. I did request the evening to be moved to a master suite which I booked and paid for. We were refused by the hotel manager on site. Stating they were sold out. Must say the mattress on the double bed we were forced to sleep in the first night was so comfortable. Saturday morning I met Stephen whom graciously wonderful accommodated our request for a king size master. The room was what we originally wanted. The only negative thing about room 330 is the view, and the horrible soggy mattress with a huge dip. We would like to book another getaway there but not sure I will get what we reserve and pay for ??♀️ oh FYI The WIFI is BAD!!Rooms: Some rooms are better than others.Walkability: Great restaurant across the street with great food and a super friendly staff!! 5?Noteworthy details: Pam the front desk Lady is Wonderful very sweet, professional and amazing customer service as well as Andi our house keeper and Stephen all get 5 ?
