I just wanted to share for everyone to see how amazing this gym and the coaches truly are!! My daughter had attended another gym out of county previously. When we moved back we tried other activities but she decided Gymnastics was her thing. I contacted Florida Flips Bartow and they were happy to have us. We came for a trial day and Coach Autumn was incredible. She immediately saw that my daughter was advanced beyond the beginners class. She spoke with Coach Natalia who had my daughter show her the skills she had. After this Coach Natalia informed Coach John that she should be in the team group!! This was huge for my daughter. They took the time one on one and saw her potential that had been ignored at previous gyms. She started with the team group and just competed in her first ever competition which she did amazing. Coach John and all the staff have helped my daughter grown out of her shell. This confidence, determination and support they have poured into my daughter has made her become a success in all aspects of her life. She has excelled at school also and I truly believe that this gym has brought all this out of her!! If you are looking for a gym who will be there to help your child succeed this is the place!! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Coaches for being so incredible to my girls!!

We love Flips in Bartow! The owners and coaches are both extremely professional, and completely engaging with the kids. They take the full hour and send your kid home proud and exhausted. My daughter has fallen in love with gymnastics because Bartow Flips is so great.

We started here a couple years ago, and my daughter was VERY shy and closed off and regardless of this, the coaches were all EXTREMELY patient and tried their best to help her open up, and took time with her, while still teaching a full class, She wasn't quite ready, due to just being attached to my hip ? and very young and SHE decided she wasn't ready yet.....Now, we are back at her choice and she absolutely loves everyone there, the coach is very patient, and goes back and forth from each and every child helping them and working with them, and does an amazing job and is structured while still keeping it fun!. My daughter looks forward to coming here every week now, and we hope to spend lots of years here!

We have been coming to Florida Flips for over a year now. Coach John has been excellent with my girls, one being delayed with her motor skills. She has improved mobility so much and John is always been patient with her limits(like struggling with jumping.) we love the facility and the class we are in is small which has worked well for my kids since it is a 3-5year old class and one of my kids has ADHD.I do want to mention, as far as the negative review with the twin boys, both of my girls are in that class and I was there the day she left class early after being told that they should try again later(I didn’t hear the actual conversation). The boys were literally all over the place, not listening, screaming, crying and over all causing safety concerns and taking ALL the attention from the other kids in the class which is totally unfair to the kids who are there ready to learn. Initially I felt bad for her but after seeing her entitled review I no longer do. When my child couldn’t follow directions in gymnastics when she was 2, I took her out until she was ready again, as any responsible parent would do.

My daughter loves Florida Flips Bartow. Coach John and Coach Autumn are both amazing. I appreciate how they put everyone’s safety above all else. If there are children who cannot follow the rules or are putting others in danger, they do the right thing and aren’t afraid to speak up with multiple warnings, a short time out, and calm reassurance, “Are you ready to come back and join the class?” I wouldn’t trust my kiddos anywhere else.

In this modern society, where efforts to empower young girls abound, it’s becoming clear that our young boys could benefit from similar support. As a mother of two twin boys brimming with energy, curiosity, and playfulness, I looked to gymnastics as an ideal activity to instill balance and structure in their daily routines while harnessing their innate inclination to learn through play.I was initially optimistic about Coach John, the owner and coach at Florida Flips Gymnastics-Bartow. I hoped he would serve as a role model for my active three-year-old boys. However, my experience turned out to be different from what I’d hoped.Coach John seemed to prioritize those who naturally followed directions, which left my enthusiastic preschoolers feeling aimless and goofy when not given a focused task. When traditional approaches like asking them to listen didn’t work, they were put in timeouts, making them feel disconnected from the session. This lack of engagement led them to opt for acting out or roughhousing on the gym floor during lesson time, which was also frustrating for me to watch. To provide context, my boys had participated in six sessions with one remaining. The first, a trial session, went exceptionally well, and I noticed Coach Autumn’s excellent work with toddlers. It was evident that she invested a lot of energy to keep the boys on target and was more tolerant of their behavior. In contrast, Coach John was much less tolerant of misbehavior and seemed less willing to adapt. His expectations of a three-year-old were far similar to the expectations he had of older children as well.By the second or third session, I felt compelled to apologize for my boys’ behavior. Coach John was reassuring, telling me that there would be a way to work it out and that there are options. So one may understand my bewilderment when not long after that he dismissed us from the program, offering refunds for the prepaid sessions not yet attended. While I appreciate the affordability of the program, it’s evident that Florida Flips Bartow lacks the curriculum or instructional understanding needed to engage the capricious minds of three-year-olds. Coach John’s expectations for discipline might be more justifiable if his aspirations were to cultivate Olympic champions from every student. However, such rewards necessitate an equal investment in nurturing the growth of his young athletes, an investment that unfortunately was not extended to my children. There wasn’t even a recommendation to adjust the schedule or for a sit-down to propose alternative solutions for lessons.Boys might “mature” at a different pace, but instead of adjusting their teaching approach to “accommodate” for that, which maybe is a lot to ask of such young and novice professional, Coach John basically made the decision to dismiss them from the program. What broke my heart was that he requested, albeit politely, that we leave altogether. In a soft spoken voice he asked mid-lesson for me to come back when the boys are older, suggesting out loud in front of other parents and their children, that we return once the boys can “better follow instructions” or after proper schooling. I left as requested, completely baffled, wondering if this would be the first of many instances where my boys will be punished for… well, being boys.I want to note that I witnessed Coach John’s positive interactions with older kids as I waited in the lobby, so I know he’s effective in certain cases.Despite my desire to continue and work through the challenges, Coach John’s decision for us to leave the session caught me off guard. The boys did have some great moments of learning that I quietly celebrated and I saw their potential… and it breaks my heart that they were dismissed without a second thought.I believe that there are alternative ways to engage young children, especially in a gymnastics class where a balance between discipline and playfulness should prevail.Update: *The defensive, unfazed response to this post only highlights their overall commitment to give up on children.

Today was my first official visit to Flips! I was so very impressed with this facility! The equipment is awesome and they have such a variety of different platforms to engage in. Everything was clean and in excellent working condition. Sign up was quick, easy and very affordable. I was even more impressed with one of their instructors, Ms.Autumn. She noticed my daughter was tumbling on her own and throughout our visit, she worked one on one with her!!! My daughter is very passionate about tumbling and Coach Autumn recognized that right away. I am so very thankful for her kindness and efforts today ☺️ Thanks for helping me make my daughter's birthday amazing. You have no idea how much this means to us both. We cannot wait until next time!

I'm really thankful for the Open Gym they have every Friday, personal classes were too expensive for me to continue for 2 kids so my kids are still able to come once a week and they love it. The coaches are very patient and compassionate in their jobs.
