I first contacted Brandon @ Surfboard Trading a few yrs back when I had started my search to buy a SUP board here in Palm Beach, FL. At that time my search ultimately ended with an inflatable board from a big box company (selection was based strictly on budget and convenience of transporting it w/ out a car rack). 3 yrs and several damaged inflatable boards later, I was back at square one looking for a rigid board. This time armed with a lot more knowledge and experience of what I needed. , The first call I made this time around was right back to Surfboard Trading Co. The owner, Brandon is a Palm Bch local who designs all of the boards, and oversees the manufacturing and quality process. He has sold boards around the world from various places in the US to water sport paradise destinations like Thailand. The reviews he gets all say the same thing for good reason - he designs, mfgs and sells awesome boards and can make custom ones on request, don't be swayed by the fact that he doesn't own a "surf shop location". He keeps all his boards at his warehouse. After asking me a few questions about what I was looking for - he mentioned that we had spoken a few years back. He made a recommendation and offered to deliver the board to my house the following day at no extra charge (he offered without me even having to ask). When he arrived, and unwrapped the board it was even more gorgeous than what I had seen on the website. I was also able to purchase the car straps and a paddle all at an extremely competitive price. His boards are made of fiberglass and bamboo and are very light for their length. The design is also very well thought through. He explained the main strengths/weaknesses of the board and let me know that if I ever had any issues with the board, or needed something different, I could always just give him a call.
