This place is going downhill since I reviewed at 6 years ago. The older women running the store are rude. I've waited at least 5 to 10 minutes for someone to show up at the checkout. I will not return.

Door locked at 8:39 pm. Went to the “out” door. Wasn’t greeted at all by the woman that has red hair pulled back on top of her head. If you hate your job that much, then quit! I spend a lot of money at this particular store and she could at least be greeted when I walk in, no matter the time of night . The store hours states, closes at 9, not 8:39. Get it together !

Store #21730 on Cortez in B'ville, had it's doors wide open, gotta feel like 100 degree day! Ms. Carolyn greeted me with a big smile but a sweaty brow, NO AIR CONDITIONING. I thought if she can work today, I can shop today. But the heat got to me, I headed for the check out. Ms Carolyn cheerfully asked, "Did I find everything I needed today ?" I replied, actually I couldn't find scissors! She said, "they are in stationery, you wait right here and I'll go a pair for you". Ms. Carolyn was a helpful older sweetheart. I doubt today's younger clerk would even ask a question, let alone go out of their way to grab an item for me in my late 60s!
I hope Dollar General recognizes what a dedicated employee they have and it was my pleasure to be talking a bit with a good hearted neighbor helping me get an item I really needed. Hope that A/C is fixed soon!

The cashier made me feel like I was a inconvenience as she checked me out. No smile and a stale cigarette smell wafting from just the genral checkout area. The manager needs to have a team meeting on customer service.
