We have used Baywood for many years and always had a good experience. However, this past year has been very different. We took our cat in for what we believed to be a simple vet tech check for his blood pressure. We put a perfectly fine cat into the crate. The vet tech took our cat back to the back for the blood pressure check. When our kitty was returned to us could not stand on his own. Something happened between the time we handed our cat to the vet tech, and the time he was returned to us. We may never know what truly happened but they were ready to let us walk out the door with a cat that was clearly in some kind of medical distress. We rushed our kitty to the ER, and had to euthanize him the following day. Stay away from this practice. We have filed formal complaints with the Florida Board of Veterinary Medicine.

I needed to board my dog Jack for the Memorial Day weekend and being new to the area I wasn't sure who I could trust. Where we used to live my dog's vet was with VCA so it was nice to see there was a VCA here in Cape Coral and they also had a pet resort. So for me, it was a win win situation. It was so easy to transfer Jack's records over here since both veterinarians are under VCA. Before boarding I took him in to get caught up on his vaccines and to establish a relationship with the new vet. Everyone there was so friendly, patient and professional. Boarding him here was a breeze they didn't require prescreening like some other boarding places in the area. They didn't require unnecessary vaccines, just the main ones. Baywood does one on one care with the animals so the dogs get the full attention of the technician, which I loved. When I dropped off Jack the boarding tech came to pick him up at the waiting room and asked me to leave him like you would a child on the first day of kindergarten. I thought it was funny but I totally understood. When I picked up Jack he was happy to see me and the boarding tech. told me how it did. I took him home and bathed him (my choice) and he passed out on the couch. Now Jack has only been boarded twice before this and both times they were not pleasant. Both times he was boarded was in Broward county on the east coast of Florida. One time he caught kennel cough (he was vaccinated) and the other time he came back hoarse and with a rash on his stomach. When I picked up Jack at Baywood he was peppy, he wasn't hoarse, didn't get any illnesses, nothing. If you don't mind not having all the perks of a pool, live webcams and group playtime then I would highly recommend this pet resort. The only thing I would have loved is to see the inside where they slept, to see how big it is. This will be our go to place for boarding Jack when he can't come with us.

We have been coming to Cape Coral for the past two winters. This year our 16 year old maltipoo decided that she needed to go to the rainbow bridge.Baywood was recommended by our cousin. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Dr. Mitchell answered all our questions and was so very gentle with our baby. Although we are incredibly sad, we feel so lucky to find such a wonderful vet away from our hometown.

They over charge! My dog is my child and have no problem paying for care for him. But when you are being taken advantage of in your time of distress.. THAT IS SHAMEFUL! The vet has always been nice and the techs but the prices are way above average for any type of care.

I am new in town and my cat was sick. I checked out reviews for vets in the area, and Baywood consistently was at the top. I have to admit, I was a bit hesitant to go to a VCA affiliated vet. I had read some articles that corporate investors often put pressure on the economics of the practice, which could sometimes affect the quality of care (rushed), cost of the care (higher), and the overall experience (eg hard selling and up selling, and sometimes feeling like a transaction). Well, I can tell you I experienced none of that at Baywood!! Every single interaction, from the receptionists, to the vet techs, to the doctor- everyone is so warm, friendly, and takes whatever time is necessary to provide care, answer questions, and discuss next steps. And they were cost conscious, offering alternative treatments, while discussing pros/cons of each. They even follow up with a call the next day(s) to check in. I found that the VCA affiliation actually provides quite a few benefits and conveniences that aren't usually available at a typical vet, including online appointment scheduling, reminders, pay by text (even with apple pay), emailed receipts, online prescription orders/refills, a wealth of online resources for the doctors, staff and pet owners, plus a new patient care kit with some goodies and freebies. And they have an app that makes accessing all that info even easier, plus an easy way to use or transfer to other VCA vets, including a network of specialists. There is also a live online chat available with doctors 24/7, for a small fee. All in all I am very pleased with my choice!

We have been going to Baywood for many years for our dog Lilly, who is now a senior. We have never been disappointed with the care they provide our Lilly, especially when we board her. The staff is incredibly friendly, the doctors are serious about your pets' health. Two years ago Lilly (10 yr old Viszla) lost use of both of her back legs. We brought to Dr. Smith and she put us in touch with a Veternarian Neurosurgeon in Naples, Dr. Carnes at SCAN. Baywood takes care of Lilly like she is our family. We appreciate the kindness and all the enormous effort your office has put into the life and health of our Lilly. Thank you over and over again!!!

Wonderful care was taken with my Dolly. Dolly is a little sad as she is like the rest of us who think the doctors scale is slightly off. lol. She needs to loose weight too. No more after dinner treats. However, all the ladies @ Baywood gave her tons of hugs. All is well!!!!!!

All staff are beyond amazing! They have always gone out of their way to make sure my dog is taken care of. To say they’re accommodating would be an understatement! I will not go anywhere else, I can’t thank Baywood enough for being so caring and so genuine with my Dixie’s well being. They have a customer for life!

We have boarded our dog here several times and have been VERY happy with everything done. She loves the people that work in the kennel and you can tell they love the animals! We love the play time options and they do a great job with baths! Very reasonably priced compared to other places.

Fabulous to us and our furry kid. Severe diabetic they work hard and compasionte to get him stable. Everyone there warm and friendly. All clients we meet in waiting room all happy and love this hospital and staff. From 1st visit remembered us and our dog thereafter. Never had such personal care. Explain everything to us and feel like doctor is a friend loving our Westie. Our thanks to entire staff. Reasonable fees. Viewed their newer kennel area with plexi glass fronts so furry kids do not feel so caged and spotless so if have to go away we know where our pet will be hoteled. Kudos!!!
