I was there for 15 minutes after 5 minutes of trying to flag them down outside with no luck because they couldn’t hear me over their music. A guy bringing them a case of beer made eye contact with me and that’s about it. Someone swung their office door open but slammed it shut before I could say anything. I’ll never go there again.

Was told to bring the car in and no appt needed. By 6pm I called to ask when I could get my car, I was told “tomorrow”. Would have been nice to know I wouldn’t have a car for the night before I left it. Paid $800 for a new compressor and recharge so I would have AC again. It worked for 1 day and started blowing hot again. I do not recommend this place

Unfortunately had a poor experience with Chips Auto Repairs. I stumbled across their shop and they installed tires I provided on my truck. Their tire install service was reasonably priced though slower than expected as they were a full shop. I was satisfied with this tire service overall, so I inquired about having my classic mustang exhaust welded.
I inquired specifically for TIG welding for stainless exhaust pipe, which I would supply for the project. These materials were $1100 out of pocket. High end mufflers and stainless Mandrel bent exhaust pipe. I wanted to ensure they were proficient in TIG welding, and able to produce a uniform bead at a show car quality level.
The office manager advised he would confirm with their shop welder, the only mechanic that welds for them. He advised yes, they could do the job to my expectations.
I returned to the shop for this project about a week later at the time of my scheduled appointment. I waited for a half an hour before they even began looking at my car. The welder advised again, he could do the project but advised he wouldn’t be able to finish the same day. He additionally advised he had to relocate my chromed fuel pump, which was protected in a weather proof box from the underside of the car to the trunk as it would be in the way of the exhaust. I agreed.
Considering the quality and complexity of the project, I left the car with the shop over the weekend. I was told they would be done first thing on Monday.
Monday, and most of Tuesday went by with no follow up. I received a missed call with no voicemail from the shop on Tuesday at about 5:30pm. Not recognizing the number until the following day when I called for a status on the project.
The office manager answered my call Wednesday morning advising the car was complete and ready for pick up. He advised he called me the day before but did not leave a message.
I arrived to pickup my car, and met with the office manager to inspect the finished project.
I immediately noticed the quality of the welds was not what I had requested. The beads were not constant, or uniform. The tail pipes of the exhaust were not evenly spaced or level with each other.
The fuel pump was not relocated to the trunk as we had discussed. Instead, the pump was left under each the car unprotected from the elements, not inside the original box mount.
Chips then told me the price, just short of $640! They advised they spent more time than they planned, several days of labor and said they only charged for 6 hours.
I had spoken with several other shops prior to this decision to go with Chips’. The price was at $420 on the high end, and as low as $200.
I requested Chips to offer some sort of discount, given the lower quality of the job they provided (despite their certainty of a high quality job at the beginning), and considering the competitor rates.
Chips declined to offer any compensation or discounted rate and in turn denied knowing the expectation of a show car quality weld job.
I chose to do business with Chips as they seemed like an honest shop after my tire mount experience. Man was I mistaken. I now have pay another shop to try to correct Chip’s mistakes.
I will no be doing business with Chips in the future.
Honesty is very important in business and to earn routine customers. I have no problem paying a premium for quality work, unfortunately Chips is not it.
I hope this review helps others avoid doing business with this misleading shop.

Excellent workshop with very humane treatment, the group is almost a family, everyone is local and there is an atmosphere of collaboration and brotherhood, always working to provide a better service and concerned about customer satisfaction in an issue that is as necessary as it is sensitive. What is your car like?
