Update: Our fur baby was very ill and unfortunately, we had to make a very difficult decision. The vet and all the staff approached our family with kindess and compassion during a very difficult time. I can’t thank them enough for caring for our Nakota during his last moments with us, while simultaneously supporting our entire family while we navigated the loss of our beloved dog who grew up with our children. They also provided us with grief and pet loss support services. My dog hurt his leg, and we took him in to have him looked at. The veterinarians at this practice are absolutely wonderful. I love that they are so gentle with our anxious dog and educate us about what is going on with our dog's health. They take time to discuss options and provide options when they realistically can while ensuring that our dog is being taken care of. They really try to keep their services affordable so individuals can actually afford to be their pets in to be seen. I highly recommend!!!

First time there today with one of my kitties. Was very pleased with the experience. From the front desk team, to the vet tech, to the vet herself, to the prices. Just wow across the board. Everyone was so kind and caring. It took about a month to get the appointment as a new client but they said once established they can get you in sooner. Their prices are also amazing. Their senior blood panel was 64% cheaper than another vet that I use to go to. That's a crazy differenceThank you Islandside for providing excellent care at a reasonable price.

Take my 3 dogs there. Love this place but I was a bit disappointed today. I called at 8:50 AM, left a message. An hour later, no one had returned my call so I called back explaining that one of my dog had thrown up all night, had diarrhea and now was pooping blood.I was told that my dog couldn’t been seen until the day after at 5PM…..that’s 36 hours after my call!!!!!! As existing patients, I thought that we should have been fitted in their schedule sooner.I understand it may not be life threatening but as pet owner, we are worried. When I asked on what to do if my dog got sicker, the replied was to take her to an emergency hospital, I was expecting the answer to be “call us back “ at least!!! It seemed a bit cold and uncaring.I just wanted to vent my frustration and disappointment…….otherwise I love all the doctors there.

Dr. Braun is great and most of the staff is as well. I've gotten a quick response every time I've contacted them. Missing the Saturday hours but hopefully that won't be a permanent change.

They treat multiple pets that I own I have been going there for years, my one cat who has been sick for roughly 6 months took a very sharp turn for the worst today andneeded to be put down. They would not take him for hours when I called crying begging them to please take him right away and put him out of his misery because he was seizing they didn't care sorry go to the emergency vet.i will never go back there. Now commenting on the comment below - I never said your staff was disgusting I actually said she was a very nice person and it wasn't personal but that what happened was disgusting. No one mentioned the vet was out to lunch. I also called to speak to the doctor last Friday morning and was told she was out until Monday, so I couldn't get answers about my sick pet for days. I could go on about charging people for test student tell them you were going to do giving them bad instructions for medications or the time your other vet told me my dog had a sore throat and to give him tea when it turned out he had a heart condition but I think I've made my point.

I called early Saturday morning and left a voicemail explaining the condition of my dog and asked if it something worth bringing my dog in for. I never got a single call back or voicemail. It was not a life threatening situation but regardless of the situation they didn’t have the decency to give a call back. To me that is disrespectful and shows lack of professionalism, empathy and concern. Even a call back to say they don’t have anything available would have been better than nothing at all. Do better as an animal hospital

Seems like a decent vet practice. I've been going for a while, but don't care for how they take your pet in a private back room to administer shots so you will not be with your pet. Maybe all places do this now. Not sure. It's just personal preference. I like to be by my pet when receiving treatment. Also don't care for their cancellation policy where if you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, you are then basically charged in advance next time. It isn't so much of an issue that I disagree with it, except that I called in the morning and got a 4:00 appointment that day, then had to cancel shortly after, still about 6 hours before the appointment time. I felt like I was being punished or scolded when I literally had just scheduled the appointment just a short time earlier. There was no humanly possible way to cancel with 24 hours' notice because I had just scheduled the appointment. I understand the concept, but there's no possible way hundreds of patients were turned away or caused a huge inconvenience to someone else in that short time. In fact, I venture a guess someone else snatched up that appointment time. I was just a bit taken aback by their response when I canceled. I originally had intended to just cancel for that day, wait another day to monitor the condition and try to get in the next day if it worsened, but I was a bit soured by their response and I will be seen by another vet clinic in the future. Although I'm a client, this was for a new dog, so no need to transfer records. But if you don't mind the above, then I think it's basically a good practice. Seems pretty much the same as any other vet.

I feel the need to leave a review. I have been searching for a vet and clinic that I can count on and that I feel comfortable bringing my fur kids too. My expectations are very high. I had called many months back and they were not accepting new clients at the time. Thankfully, my dogs are pretty healthy now so a vet is not needed often, but I still like to have an annual check up and bloodwork to ensure they stay that way. I decided to try again to get an appointment as I hadn’t found my “go to” vet or clinic. Well… now I have. The vet tech was wasGreat... Dr. German was wonderful with my little girl Bella. She was patient with me, answered my questions, listened and provided feed back. I feel confident knowing that when needed I can count on her and Islandside.Thank you Dr German!
