“My daughters definition of a good time is to go to the "cat" library to try to find the cat within the isle of the book shelves. With that being said, if you love cats and books you will love this place! With such a large variety of books, there is something for everyone. I've spent most of my time in the child's section seeing since this has become my daughters favorite place to visit. She is a huge comic novel reader and has found something every time. They offer new and used books. They have always been very helpful anytime we have questions or are looking for anything specific. I love that deland has a family owned bookstore so I love to support them.”

“Piano day and concert series. My daughter had an opportunity to attend Piano day at Stetson. They have an impressive Music program. Lovely campus and great vibe! Small town and very expensive school. Focus on obtaining grants and scholarships if you are serious about this University.”

“The manager of the shop seems approachable and open hearted in the way that he is open to the ideas that I brought to him about the shop possibly sponsoring outdoor Thai Chi classes in Lake Helen for the greater interests of all.”

“This book store has a LOT of books; some new, but for the most part, second hand and in good condition. If you are a history connoisseur or love to read Biographies about US presidents there is a big section in the back right of the store. I found some great music books for piano and other instruments tucked away in a box under one of the shelves. I was a bit disappointed with the price of some of the music books. I usually pick them up from other book stores for $3-$4 each. Here, the books for selling at or way more than the original price, and these are by no means a collector's item. The Scarlatti Sonata No. 30, "The Cats Fugue," original price is $2.50 and is sold here for $20. I can order the same edition on eBay for $3.99. other online retailers sell the same book with alternate cover for $1-$2 more. Unfortunately, I couldn't ask for a discount because the owner was out of town for the holiday so, I left this book for now and purchased two other books for about $6 each. My Mom purchased a signed edition of Heart Wide Open by Shellie Rushing Tomlinson for $15. I guess that is about the going rate for a NEW book. I can find it unsigned/secondhand online for about $5; I guess the signed book brings up the value? The store owners' brother was operating the store while the owner was out of town. I didn't get his name, but he welcomed us in the store, was very helpful, and shared a great conversation about his service in the Airforce. All-in-all, this is a cool store to check out if you're in Deland shopping.”
