With going to an emergency vet, you have an understanding that there will be a wait. However, when the wait is over 5 hours and the staff has not communicated with you once on the timeframe, it’s not acceptable.I type this as I’m still waiting for my dog to be seen and he is in pain. I have also had to beg the staff to give an update with no luck. I would not recommend you bring your animals here based on our experience.

This clinic is the worst human beings. They kill animals. They have no charisma. They are only interested in money. If you really love your pets, keep them away from this place. They are thieves and scammers.

Although I was there for a while and it was expensive, I would expect this at an emergency veterinary clinic. Dr. Trewartha was super nice and has a great demeanor. And, all the staff that attended to me were friendly and helpful.

Highly advise taking your pet to your regular vet, they are extremely expense and not transparent about pricing. I have a new kitten that I have had for 3 days and she was having some issues urinating which obviously was showing up as a UTI.I told everyone who came in including the vet, I don’t think it’s serious I think it’s a UTI. Just for the doctor to come in put a stethoscope up to the cat and say yeah maybe it’s a UTI I’ll give you antibiotics. The lady came back with in insane amount bill I was baffled. For the doctor to iterate back to me exactly what I told him and for them to charge me an insane amount. They also tried to add a charge for “disposal” when asked about it they said they added it by “mistake”. By the way she approached the conversation it was obvious. Mind you I also waited almost 3 hours for the vet to tell me that. 3 hours. Do not come here. Horrible place and a cash grab.Do not come here.

I had such an amazing experience here Thursday night that I had to come leave a review. My dog was having a severe allergic reaction late Thursday night and she just kept getting worse so my fiance and I brought her here. They were so helpful when we first got there. They greeted us and helped calm me down (since I was an obvious nervous wreck). They took my baby right in the back to keep her under observation until we could be seen by the vet. They kept coming around and checking on us and providing us with updates on how she was doing. The staff her is absolutely unbelievable. Even though it was extremely busy, they went above and beyond to help us. She was a million times better by the time we got home and she was so much more comfortable. I cannot thank the staff here enough for helping my baby get all better and keeping myself and my fiance calm the whole time. I will 100% recommend this vet to everyone I know and will be back if we ever have another emergency. I cannot thank you all enough!

The staff and Dr was amazing. Very empathetic, knowledgeable, caring and gentle with us during our time of tragedy. Highly recommend if your pet is having an emergency.

I believe the lack of communication from the front of office to the back is a major reason as to why I lost my boy.My male cat was dealing with a UTI. I brought him in and was told he didn’t have a blockage, but that they could do XYZ if he had crystals in his urine. Being told there was NO blockage, I decided to take him home so we could go to his regular vet the following morning. My boy did pee a small amount in the car and in his carrier after leaving, so I was very hopeful. I get to his vet the next morning and I’m immediately told to rush to an ER vet in Sanford (with high reviews) as his bladder was 3x the size. (His vet did use a syringe to relieve the bladder). As I get in the car, he starts declining. I had to go back to this same (this) vet office, because I’m obviously on a time crunch. My vet told me what to say, explain, etc to them, because his case was very imminent. I arrive in, rushed to the back as I state, “he needs to be catheterized, he is blocked, etc etc”. I was taken to a room and he was brought to the back where the vets are. They then brought him back to me saying that he was not blocked. 30 literal minutes pass by and I’m watching him cry in pain. One of the vets finally walk in, asks several questions and within that time we watch him essentially DIE. His heart stopped. She sees his grayed gums and asks how long that they have been that color as she’s taking him to the back. I’m obviously screaming, crying. (My boy has been there through such major events in my life from moving into a new city, the loss of my father, and a bad relationship. How can I deal with losing him?) A tech comes back in the room stating that his heart stopped and asked if they can continue CPR/necessary life saving options and I say yes. This happens once more. After this, I am told that indeed his heart stopped, but they have regained a pulse and he is essentially in a coma. I’m given 5 minutes to choose two options: pay up to 10 GRAND to keep him on life support for two days before they are able to do surgery to see what is wrong. (Let’s be real, assumably his bladder ruptured. At that point, he will be in sepsis. That’s just a financial gain at that point.) OR euthanasia. Even thought his heart was beating, I could not put him through this. I had to make the hardest decision to tell my little boy goodnight. What gets to me is that the vet on hand that I dealt with told me multiple times, “he wasn’t blocked”, “I don’t understand”, Etc. She seemed very panicked and kept repeating herself.Days later I ask for the chart notes (I work in the medical field, hoping the truth would be there.), it’s documented that he WAS blocked. I was LIED to! (I did not request an autopsy.) That was their current medical chart notes. I went in their FULL knowledge telling them what he needed from my beyond years, experienced veterinarian. I’ve been angry for months. I lost my father due to medical negligence and now my life long pet to the same ordeal. To this office, please do better. I say this with my entire heart, because you make a promise and you are held to a high degree to do what you’re supposed to for these animals. While I thought of legalities, it would’ve done nothing to bring him back.Advice: have better communication, listen to your patients owners, especially when they express what their home vet has said, and just in all DO BETTER.I paid around $500+ for his remains and all the added little keepsakes from him. If it explains a little about their hunt for $, to get a print of his nose and paws, was over $100+. A STAMPED PRINT.While I was appreciative of the techs (the one who helped bring him to the rainbow room, she was kind), this office needs a lot of work. If this office dealt with humans, it would be shut down. No question about it.

We had the unfortunate situation of having to put our 12-year old best friend to sleep in the middle of the night. We had the very lowest expectation of an overnight veterinary service and were prepared for the absolute worst. It was terrible not being able to go to our long-time vet where our dog was known and comfortable. The staff and Dr. were all very kind and professional, they made us as comfortable as possible and acted with compassion.Obviously, we wish the outcome could have been different, but it was a relief to find a facility at 2am, that was clean, and well staffed with kind people. They also notified our established vet, which was nice because she reached out with condolences.Thank you for making a horrible situation bearable. We hope to never have to visit under those circumstances again, but at least others can know that your service was very good and very appreciated.

I am giving two stars because they did help my puppy when I brought her. However, I would never bring my puppy here again. There is a lot of room for improvement for the way they run things here. I will not get into all of the details but the two biggest reasons why I would never come back here is because when they treated my puppy, I asked to be there with her to make her feel more at ease with my presence, but they did not allow it. The thought of my puppy being in distress all alone didn’t sit well with me but I didn’t have a choice at that point in time and although they can say “she was just fine,” I know my pup. Secondly, it’s been over two weeks since I brought her in and I called two times for the SOAP, which I need in order to submit the claim to my insurance. Both times I was told that the doctor didn’t complete the notes yet and that they will “get to it right away.” The first time I called, I could understand that, as it was the day following care. However, I haven’t heard anything or received anything for over two weeks and when I called the second time I got the same response. At that point, it is unacceptable and when I asked if it’s standard practice to have to call multiple times to request this, the supervisor said that unfortunately, it is. They don’t seem to do much to improve their processes or seem to have a sense of urgency so for these reasons I wouldn’t come back here and would prefer to take my puppy anywhere else but here.

Went there last night with my dog, Galloway and the Doctor and Staff were amazing. Of course, it's an ER so you have to be patient and expect some wait time but it was well worth it. The staff was wonderful with my dog and the Doctor was through, answered any questions I had and clearly explained options with pros and cons of each. I left with a treatment plan I was comfortable with and feel good about. I would not hesitate to come back.

Was sent here by our regular vet since vet was closed. Got here they took our pup in the back for almost 3 hours thinking they were treating him, but no put him in the back so they can get about 3 to 4 estimate prepared and presented it to us before anything was done to diagnosed our pup. The doctor and the tech was pretty much heartless , they don’t care about pets so I don’t even know why they work there. They said its going to cost about $6K to keep him there for 2 days or we can put him down because he will not make it through the night.I was totally shocked and could not believe my ears, it’s either we pay 6K or take him back home. They never even offer to stabilize him for the night until we can take him to his vet tomorrow morning. Well we ending up taking our pup home and the bill was $1000With a brake down and we just paid it without looking at the brake down because our pup was sick and that was the last thing on our minds. Well 4 days later our pup is still not feeling well but we are happy he is with his regular vet. So after looking at the bill from that ER it did not add up to the amount that we were charged almost a $400 difference. We called and informed them they put us on hold for about 45 mins, and said the bill is correct and if the charges don’t add up I should contact my credit card company. I would never take my pets back to this place heartless and careless doctor and staff. They also tell people they need to keep your pet overnight so they can bill you a Riddick amounts of money even if your pet doesn’t need to stay. I would say this is the worst place ever separating you from your pet when you little one is sick. This place seems that’s it’s only here take advantage for people and there pets in the time of need. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!!

Dealing with an ailing pet, a cat, which, altogether, although dearly loved, might have been entering the vestibule of Tanos, you then are obliged to enter the “meanders” of veterinary clinics. Finally, they directed me to this veterinary emergency clinic and my experience was diametrically opposite to all my expectations: negative. Immediately surrounded by “technicians” (I asked clarifications for what a technician is), it was difficult to receive a definite answer ranging from questions of treatment and logically, cost. What is impressive, is the “compartmentation” of information: one technician will give you only 1/10 of an answer concerning the totality of the question....you must then pass to another one, and same result...not to mention the administrator of moneys...a plethora of option prices for treatment, all exorbitant. What about the diagnosis? None, 4-5 possibilities, an answer might be received after the presentation of another quote and a monetary disbursement. Only one? To receive a definite answer therefore, you might have to pay a battery of presented quotes. Finally, the doctor, professional, undoubtedly, however, I had to plea by presenting some analogies to have at least an opinion, based on the numbers, if the cat might survive. Encouragement was received. I leave the beloved animal there for treatment. In the meanwhile, be informed that they don’t practice ultrasounds integrally, that is, partial ultrasounds, inexplicable indeed. The liver was not investigated. The morning after, directed to pick up the cat, which seemed to me moribund (certainly not in the condition I had left it), they send me to another specialized animal hospital to perform an ultrasound (same street, fortunately!). Once again, a “flowchart” of mega prices – calculations, standing on two feet, indicate, once again, a series of costs. I accept, with options, obviously, we go forward. “Dulcis in fundus,” they inform me that the cat is dying, euthanasia is advised – several options here too, with calculated prices – I walk out with a carboard sarcophagus and another stellar bill. One last mindful observation, lack of empathy, did not receive from this clinic an informative telephone call regarding the animal’s final status.

I highly recommend Veterinary Emergency Clinic. My pitbull was having an allergic reaction to a vaccine she had received the day before. I called when I was on my way, Danielle answered and was waiting for me at the door when I pulled up! From there she took Luna right on back to get the help she needed. Danielle and Dr. Tilley took great care of my fur baby. Thank you again ladies! ??
