On the recommendation of the chamber, I booked a tour with hook it tours. Jason took us out in to the Gulf at Cedar Key for a 3 hour tour. We had a great time checking out the clam farm, watching the dolphins, shelling, and bird watching. I highly recommend and look forward to another trip

Was a little disappointed that Cedar Key doesn't accommodate the elderly. Had a visit with my mom and sister today August 19, 2024. We were going to have lunch at Steamers and do a little shopping. Well we couldn't have lunch at Steamers as we couldn't get my Mom up the MANY steps to the top on her walker, so now, all plans suddenly changed and we had to settle on another restaurant that had an elevator. Not very elderly equipped. Ramps way to steep and too too many steps!!!!!!

There is so much information here. Everything you need to know about the area, from brochures and maps to helpful advice. On one particular Saturday afternoon, they happened to have a three piece band playing on the front porch. It was pleasant and entertaining.

Lady working here never even greeted us. Walked out when we were there. Never offered to help or even engage with us at all.

Welcome center my foot! From the moment we walked in, we felt anything but welcome. Woman behind the desk never said hello, looked at me as if I was an intruder and then returned to a conversation she was having with 2 of her friends. I heard others try to speak to her and she was "Debby Downer" to the extreme! We attempted to ask questions but she became so negative and adversive we just walked out with a few brochures.Do not speak to the lady at the desk. Get brochures and leave!

The source for all your information about Cedar Key. Stop here first. The gentkeman on duty when we stopped in wasn't the friendliest; but did offer the coldest place in the small space to cool off on a brutally humid day. Small gift shop. $1 for a map of the islands. Nicely done.

I was able to get plenty of information about the area. The person at the desk seemed to be having a bad day and they felt a bit aggravated by visitors but I was still able to get helpful print information. There is a small gift shop to the right and publications to the left and in the middle room of the building.

Visited to use the bathroom (they are open to the public) and see some of the local history. Nice little local museum and good info on the town is available.
