First day of our vacation and we needed gas, so we stopped at this Marathon gas station in Cedar Key. I went in to pay and the cashier warned me the pump was running very slow that morning and she was waiting on a repair man to show up. We proceeded to pump our gas. It took over 30 minutes to pump 10.00, so instead of filling up we stopped pumping. We left and drove 2/10 of a mile and our car started running bad and then shut off. We were able to park in front of a cafe. After a tow to Chiefland to a mechanic at the Napa store, the mechanic told us it was bad gas. They pumped the gas out, which was evident of the water. Thankfully, they were able to pump it all out and cleaned it out of the engine.
We have since learned that this happens frequently at this location. My advice is never buy gas at this location.

The Marathon Gas station in Cedar Key is a gem! They’re always well-stocked with everything you might need, and their customer service is top-notch. The recent remodel has made the place even better—seriously, it’s like night and day. The new look and layout make it so much easier to find what I need. Plus, their mini pizza store is absolutely fantastic. I find myself going here more often than the actual market in town. If you’re in Cedar Key, this is the place to stop!

The store is fine, but the lady working there was very rude. I purchased four Rockstar energy drinks, because they were on sale: 4 for $5. When she rang me up, it came out to $6.38. I explained that they were supposed to be 4 for $5, and she got an attitude, stating that there is a thing called tax. I questioned why I was taxed $1.38 on a $5 purchase, and she exclaimed with a rude tone "FINE! I'll redo the whole thing!" She voided the transaction, and rang the drinks up as a $5 grocery item, with a correct total of $5.35 , and then slammed each drink onto the counter as she put them in the bag. She was extremely rude, when it was not justified. I only informed her that the total was not correct. If not for her, the place would be fine for a small gas station. From now on, I'll stop at the station on 24 when we're leaving town.
