About Florida State Hospital
Florida State Hospital is a mental health facility that provides care and evaluation, including through the judicial system. Reviews describe it as a safe and educational environment where the overall operations are being done well. Many staff members are noted as very professional, reasonable, and caring deeply about the residents' physical and mental well-being. They are commended for handling challenging jobs with patients who have their own severe demands. The court education classes are also highlighted as very informative. While some note seeing all types of craziness and that the environment can be draining, the experience is often described as positive. The facility is also considered a good place for employment. There is a shared belief that the staff works hard to help those in need, with some expressing heartfelt thanks for the care provided.

My mother Sang Hee Olsen was incarcerated at FSH in 1958 and died there. FSH was one of the facilities that led to the Rights of Mental Patients Act being passed, because of the horrendous things that have occurred there.
