This branch needs to close. Absolutely horrible service and full of incompetent staff who are also unprofessional, lazy, and liars. We made a reservation weeks ago, and the day of they told us they did not have a car available for us - a rental car that we needed in order to make an international flight on the other side of Florida. Manager sent us on a wild goose chase to TWO other facilities in Clearwater and Palm Harbor that are just as horrendous. Never have we had an experience like this before with a rental service, and this will be the last time we use Budget/Avis.Furthermore, on seeing the other reviews of this company, we know that we are not alone in this experience and this branch needs to shut down.Anyone reading these Google reviews, save yourself unnecessary stress and use another rental service in the Bay area. Budget/Avis in Dunedin, Clearwater, and Palm Harbor need a complete administrative overthrow and new management.

Made a reservation weeks in advance. Called the day before to confirm only to be told they did not have a vehicle available for me. Rental agent Henry informed me I was one of 5 reservations that would not be getting their cars. Henry informed me that the branch would not look around for cars at other branches and to just call customer service. Manager Sid did not offer any help whatsoever. Wound up having to get a car 40 mins away after hours on the phone trying to find one. This branch needs to close or find more competent staff.

My corporate office reserved me a car at the Dunedin Avis a week in advance. Arrived at the location this morning to pick up the car and was told that he had zero cars. Um….What???? Thank you Avis for nothing!!!!!

I had a great experience here. The front desk person was very helpful and friendly. I was able to extend for a day as well. Will definitely rent here again.

Scheduled a pick up for 2pm. Arrived at 1:55PM and the store was already closed. Called to change my reservation to the next day, and the price was $700 more than the day before. Called customer service, was told prices went up due to demand and they couldn’t honor the original price even though their employees closed early and caused the delay in pick up. They closed at 2pm according to website. I did not know when I scheduled the reservation. If they were going to be closed why did the website allow the reservation to be placed to begin with.

Got a call from them at 143 pm asking if I was supposed to return it today and asking if I knew what time it was. I was about 2 miles away filling the car back up with gas. When I told him this, he said he closes in 5 minutes. I went to the wrong place to return it on accident but was only off by half a mile. He called back at 155 telling me he was already supposed to have closed. My reply was the office closes at 2pm that day which is the exact time my confirmation says I am supposed to return it. So he says fine, he’ll wait.When I pulled in to the lot at 201 pm, he was standing in front of the closed office waiting for me. Took the key, got into the car before I even got my luggage out of the trunk and moved the car without another word.

This is my second time having a negative experience at this location. The first time I came here about a year ago, the door was locked during business hours and I had to wait around to return my car. Today I had a reservation at 830 to drop off at another location and was told “the system is down”. I wasted nearly an hour getting a ride to this location only to have to get a ride back home because the car couldn’t be rented out. If the system was truly down, I would have appreciated a courtesy call telling me so. I’ll never rent from this location again.

ZERO STARS! One star was the minimum but he doesn't deserve that. Guy tried to make me get insurance for the car when it's already insured. Wanted to charge more than the price of the rental. Shady to say the least. Also, argumentative and has very poor customer service skills. Stay away!

Reubens Lawrence helped us out 100% I would recommend this place hands down he helped us out day after Christmas and helped us out to extend the rental with no problems

Overcharged, inefficient, argumentative. They didn’t have the car size I reserved and wanted to charge more for a large vehicle. He said it would take to long to correct the the receipt and wanted to do it after I left. Upon returning the car 15 minutes after opening, he said the system was not “up” and I would have to wait. Soon there was a line of five people behind me. All the while, the radio was loudly set to gospel preaching. When I turned on the car I rented, the radio was on with the same gospel preaching. It took way too long to rent and then return.

Never rent a car from this location! The vehicle that I rented was dirty and had gum stuck in the door handle. The trunk had something sticky in it too and it stuck all over my suitcase. Then, when I went to go back to return the car after the week, the location was closed (arrived at 4pm and the door said they closed at 6pm)!! I was then on the phone with Avis for over an hour and had to go and return the car at another location (there is a fee to drop off at a different location). Do NOT rent from this location - you too will be inconvenienced and over charged for a dirty vehicle!

Confirm my rental online but was unable to pick-up the car because the agent left early without notice. Very disappointing :(
