Had difficulty opening an account online. Could not deposit checks online. The bank locked my account a week later. When you call the number listed online, you get transferred around a bit. I ultimately was given a different number to call, and I was unable to speak with anyone who could address my issue. The whole process seemed a little shady to me.

I have significant CD investment with TIAA bank. EverBank sent me notices saying my accounts are Dormant. I called the number provided but no one could explain what Dormant means. They said there was no action on your account since 2021. That's because I role my CD,s over which is by definition an active decision. Im pulling my money out of EverBank, I would recommend you do the same. EverBank is a never bank...

Very crooked bank, I lost over 50,000.00 dollars on a house because I would not falsify documents 1 day before closing on a house. I still have the email asking for me to do so. In the long run the house is worth 1/2 million dollars more than I was to pay for it. I think the builder who sent me to the bank was doing this to get the deposits back and reselling it for an extra bonus. Bershire Hathaway and Everbank are in some sort of cahoots. Research shows they have a connection.

I have been with Everbank for many years, beginning before TIAA acquired them. No problems ever. The lack of a drive through is a bit annoying at times, but not a deal breaker. Great staff.

Positively the worst bank we have ever experienced in 65 years of international banking. After telling us our "funds are safe", this shameless disreputable institution -- that even the BBB refuses to accredit --and the bank with the very worst reviews out there--closed two of our accounts without warning, notice or explanation--due to "inactivity" and refused us a supervisor or manager to clear this up, even to this date. They refuse to answer correspondence but tell us they "will reply shortly" which never happens. They send you in circles and have just one phone number that they send you regardless of whom you call that starts the torture all over again. They not only take your money but lie about it every step of the way to the point they advise to just call them. We have called and called to no avail. All this from reps who know nothing. Now we have lost our funds and there is zero accounting for it. Most offensive is the CEO Thasunda Brown Duckett busy playing moral influencer and talking about "character" like some sort of evangelical leader while she makes over twenty million a year but ignores all the incompetence and bad faith that makes her her fortune. Lipstick on a pig does not disguise the fact that this is a rogue institution that no one prudent would go near. Treating teachers this way is an atrocity. Jacksonville should be ashamed of their TIAA stadium being named by this snide outfit that Duckett refuses to reform. Her character is HYPOCRISY. No wonder Wharton invited Duckett to be commencement speaker this year. She ducks it--responsiblity--and makes sure her management secretly steal our hard-earned dollars. Welcome to our nightmare. It too could be yours.

Not very helpful consolidating my accounts. Said they couldn't even see my TIAA-CREF accounts. Were unable to complete any of the transactions, and were unwilling to utilize tiaa cref to solve the problem.

The president of TIAA Bank 'Thasunda Duckett' doesn't take calls from customers... This is what I was told by Kamaria Evans representing TIAA customer service after experiencing a terrible run around and misinformation from other customer service reps. The best and only defense she was able to offer was that there would be some "re-coaching" (her go-to phrase) of whom in my opinion is a cold and heartless staff. When I indicated I was going to write a letter to the president all Ms Evans could respond with was a patronizing high voice "No problem". Meanwhile, this poor 'coaching' has cost us. I spoke to another rep by the name of 'Ash Presley' who I felt was very smug and condescending and had the gall to tell me in so many words that he 'had the power to correct my problem but wouldn't' before the call was ended... Another example of the warm friendly feeling you get when dealing with this less than five star bank. It is extremely difficult to reach anyone in management, at end of the day issues with my account and the bank remain unresolved. Unfortunately I still have a CD there that does not mature for a few more months... I am counting down the days! I feel the need to share my experience on this and other forums as never in my 60 plus years have I ever experienced such worry and fear with an institution holding a large sum of my money. Shame on me for not reading some of the other dozens of negative reviews across the internet prior to opening my account.

I had two very good days using this so called bank to purchase IRA CD’s through. The day I deposited the money was great.

All the major and small bank have now open walk-in service to make deposit but this TIAA bank has no customer service. There hours are the worst Monday through Friday from 9am through 4 pm and still you need an appointment for walk in service to make a deposit. Forget about using night deposit to make a depoist.

Don't even walk away , run from this bank. They are slick at taking your money but you will have to fight like crazy to get it back. Their IRA dept. Is incompetent. I have been waiting far too long to get a check transferring my funds to a new bank. My new banker is appaled at the run around we have gotten. Had to speak to 4 or 5 different people, dept. heads, for them to figure out what forms they needed.

This review is long overdue. I just moved to the Clearwater area and had been researching many local banks to open up an account. The reviews for TIAA were impressive, so I drove over to this location on a Wednesday 8/12, not having opened a new bank account in approximately 20 years, it didn't occur to me with Covid that I needed an appt. I called and Christine Bush answered the phone - it was near lunch time. I explained I wanted to open an account but didn't realize I needed an appointment. She did not even hesitate to immediately book an appointment for that exact time, she let the guard know I would be walking in and the whole process was incredibly professional. Christine is a true gem of a banker and was so very helpful. If you are looking for a financial institution that you can trust and 5-star treatment - then this is the locations/institution for you!
