The service itself was easy. The whole process was a breeze. My one complaint. This is my new car. I literally drove it one other time. I've had it for less than a week. My brother paid $300 to detail it inside and out. However upon pick up my brand new to me newly cleaned car had stains all over the drivers floor mat they did not put anything down to protect it. So I paid $462 and change he's gonna be pissed when he comes tomorrow and sees the matt all effed up.

These guys should be in jail! I sent my wife to Pep Boys for a pre purchase inspection. They scammed me for $75 and didn’t inspect anything. She watched them the whole time while they just sat around and smoked vape. To top it all off they tried to scam her for more money with the “dirty air filter” trick. I pulled the air filter and showed it to her and she said it was definitely not the one they showed her. They might as well have robbed me at gunpoint for my money. My mom is a loyal customer too so I told her to stop taking her car here. Throw em in jail for scamming women and stealing peoples money!

Poor job on the work on my car. They wanted to give a list to fix all other issues on my van, which is older, but I was back for the same issue that I spent $511 dollars on and assumed it was fixed 10,000 miles ago.. seems like alot has changed at this location. It used to the best with a great staff. It looked to me that they could care less about me as a customer or the problem they never fixed. So, leaking again in the same area. They wanted to charge the same price for the exact work performed previously. It's my fault. I assumed that as usual great work was performed, but not the case.
Just for people in the future to just check over the work. Like another person stated I used to call and have to make an appointment. These days they seem to have alot of bays open and alot of free time and not as busy as another person stated.. poor workmanship all around. Sad. Be careful people. The gasket is 7 dollars online or at the autoparts store.

I live right around the corner and I went to get a simple oil change done. A couple weeks later I noticed this giant oil slick in my driveway.

I made an appointment to purchase tires from the website discount deal, but when I got there I decided to only purchase two tires rather than four. Roger the associate specifically lied to me and said that if I only purchased two I would not get the discount and the cost for purchasing two would be almost as much as the cost for purchasing 4 tires. I was told $407 to purchase four tires and almost 400 to just purchase two tires, that the discount only applied when purchasing all four! I looked on the website at home to see that this was not at all true and the discount applied when purchasing two or more tires. It was a scam to get me to purchase all four . When I confronted the representative when picking up the car he only apologize saying he must've made a mistake, even though all of this information was clearly printed on the homepage website. It was clearly a scam and I was lied to and I will never purchase at Pep Boys again. Buyer beware! This was at the Clearwater Florida Pep Boys.

The man wasn’t tied up on the phone, and they were only working on one car. The shop was almost empty, with no other customers present. I also observed that the gas level was different from when I dropped off the vehicle.

It was not good service because they don't have a jock that's the excuse with the policy.

Made an appointment online and put my car info in system the day before so they knew what kind of car was coming in and when I get there they say an hour wait and there is no customers here. It’s a ghost town and the guy is eating his subway sandwich. He looks online and sees the year of my car and says oh , it will be an additional hour. We have to order that filter. Like bro! You knew what o had before I came in!! Guess we know why no one is here

My experience with this location triggered me to go into a depressive state and I'm just now feeling a little bit better to give my review. On 10.2.2024, I took my car in because I needed a lower control arm and wheel bearing on my front driver side. I knew this because the way my tire was leaning for the lower control arm and the sound my car was making for the wheel bearing (a low whirring sound). This was also confirmed Tire Choice, but they didn't have a mechanic to fix it, so I came to Pep Boys. Pep Boys completed the work for $900 and I picked my car up. As I backed out, my car was making a clicking sound from the front driver side, but I didn't pay it any mind. I continued to drive and the clicking noise plus the same noise my car was making prior was present. I called them and they told me to bring my car back in. I took my car back in and they said the clicking sound came from something that was done during the previous work and that they had fixed it. They also said that the low whirring sound was due to my passenger front side wheel bearing needing to be replaced. I said okay let's get that done but I took my car with me because they had to order the parts. On 10.4.2024 the parts came in and I took my car back to be serviced and it totaled $486. When I came to pick my car back up, they told me that my car was still making the same whirring sound and the guy had the audacity to tell me that if I turn my radio up, I won't be able to hear it. WHAT?!!!!!! He then proceeded to tell me that it could be my tires because over time they can make that sound. 1. I've never heard of such a thing, and I've been a car owner for over 20 years. 2. I know that specific sound comes from wheel bearings. 3. I just put BRAND NEW tires on my car 2 months prior. So, at this point, I'm telling them this and he says well we can order some better bearings and see if that will fix the sound. In my mind I'm thinking 3 things. 1. So, you put bottom of the barrel bearings on my car? 2. Did I even need to spend the additional $483 to get my passenger side done in the first place? 3. Was the sound from the first bottom of the wheel bearing that was put on my car? They said they would call me once they order the parts. Milton hit on 10.10.2024 so I wasn't expecting to hear from them too soon after that but it's 10.30.2024 and I haven't heard anything. Due to the sound my car is making (which it was not making prior to my driver front wheel bearing going bad) I have lost a lot of clients that I drive around and money because they don't want to hear that sound while in my car. I cannot express how mad I am that I've lost out on clients and money on top of me paying $1,386 dollars and my car is still making this sound. I'm perturbed that he told me to turn my radio up to ignore the sound. This is unacceptable and unprofessional. I will be reporting this to the better business bureau and will not be returning ever again! They haven't done anything to rectify this situation!

I used Pep Boys for decades. I used this particular store for 15 years. The staff keeps changing, They are no longer very busy, one car was there when I arrived. Never gave an estimate, could not do a brake job because their brake rotor resurfacing machine was unavailable but they would do the job without machining rotors even though that service was included in the price. I had new tires on the car and wanted an alignment. They charged me for tire rotation to move the new tires I bought at another pep boys store to the front wheels. They never called to let me know the car was finished but the computerized text message said the car would be completed in 4 days. I called and they said the car was done. All the "courtesy check" items were bogus. The new tires were listed as 8 MM and should be 11 or 12, the brake pad thickness was also listed as an 8 but the other Pep Boys said it was 3 mm which is the correct measurement. That's why I wanted brake service. I deleted the oil change and brake service and just approved the alignment. Never going back.

I brought my car in on a Thursday evening to have the motor that controls the windshield wipers replaced after it stopped working. About an hour later, I got a call that there was a mix-up and the part that was ordered wasn't the correct part for my car. I headed back over to pick up my car. When I arrived, I was told that the part DID work with my car. As I was paying, I questioned if it would work, since originally I was told that it wouldn't work. I was assured that it worked and was ready to go.
The next day (Friday) I was driving home from work in Tampa when it started to rain. I turned on my windshield wipers. After correctly working for a couple of seconds, the left wiper moved all the way to the left and stopped. The right wiper continued to work. Because the left wiper wasn't working, it was very difficult to drive home in the rain.
I had plans to spend Friday night thru Sunday afternoon in Tampa. Because the windshield wiper stopped working, I had to cancel my first night in Tampa in order to go in first thing Saturday morning to get the windshield wipers looked at. When I arrived at Pep Boys Saturday morning, I explained the situation and then said that I would like to discuss a partial refund due to the fact that (1) the windshield wipers weren't working properly and it was a safety issue (2) I had to cancel my plans Friday evening and lose part of my morning Monday due to taking my car back in.
After the car was looked at and fixed, I was told that sometimes stuff like that happens and that when my car left Thursday evening, the windshield wipers were working. Yes, I understand that they were working at Pep Boys Thursday evening, but I needed them to work on Friday evening when it was raining and I was driving home.
There was no refund given, not even a cursory $25 back after paying almost $600 for the confusion Thursday evening, the fact that it was a safety issue Friday evening, and the fact that I had to cancel part of my weekend plans. To me, what's worse than no refund is the fact that Ian, the service manager, couldn't be bothered to even say, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience and confusion." As a customer, I felt like there was absolutely no attempt made to try to understand where I was coming from and my frustration with my experience at Pep Boys.

Never answer phone. Whenever you ask them for something they say they are so busy and weeks in advance but the place is empty. Whenever you call you just wait on hold. Place sucks.

I have been going to this location with three vehicles for years. I go in this time for "troubleshooting" an issue with my fuel vent canister. I got nothing for my $117 so called troubleshooting fee, other than the mechanic coming to the counter and saying he's seen this problem hundreds of time.....no diagnostics, no vacuum checks, no visual inspections...just from his past experience. I requested a refund and was denied.
One loyal customer that will take my business elsewhere.
