I saw on their website about help with dental services the lady that answered the phone was not friendly and responded like I was a moron. If I read the site wrong then okay but please learn to be kind about any misunderstanding. Thank you

All I can say is that if it wasn't for Jeff, Joe, and Richard and the rest of the staff I probably would still be on the streets. With respect, patience and kindness and a lot of direction, support and a lot of simply caring. My life was a major disaster and full of disappointment. I have lost everything and this last summer I was bitten by a deadly poisonous snake, and almost lost my life. So I was starting over yet again with nothing and all three of these guys gave was a little encouragement and simple instructions and I have finally finally finally got my life back in order! I am not good at expressing my feelings in person so I was just tell the whole world right here. Thank you from the bottom my heart this goes out also to Dan Kate's Directions for Living, Andrew Snyder, VA case manager, Sarah Nichols, S.O.R.E.S. and the countless others. I am clean, I have a home, a place to call my own. My goal was to have my own place and cook my own tanks giving dinner for the first time in 15 years. I have been to hell and back lost everything including my family, lied too, robbed, hit by a car and lost my son in 2024 and then the snake bite but I am back stronger then ever smarter then ever and getting stronger everyday. Pinellas Hope saved my life! Thank you all so much!!!

Warning to Those in Need: If you’re really in need of help, use Pinellas Hope for what it’s meant for but don’t make friends. Pinellas Hope does cover the basics of a shelter, but there are major areas that need improvement. Despite receiving around $2,000–$3,000 per person, most residents are stuck living in tents unless they pay $200/month for a tiny shed. These sheds are small, uninsulated, and have only one electrical outlet. Food is a mixed bag. Breakfast is usually sugary items like doughnuts or cake not very nutritious while lunch and dinner are generally good. Volunteers are dedicated and genuinely helpful, which is one of the shelter’s strongest points. Residents are required to do certain chores, such as cleaning the showers; for example, the women’s restroom has four showers that need constant upkeep. The clothing area lets residents pick a few items, which is helpful, but tents often smell strongly of urine. Placement can also be risky, as some residents have severe mental health issues or recent criminal histories. Cameras are supposed to be everywhere, but many don’t seem to work. Women, in particular, should exercise caution, as some male residents act aggressively or inappropriately. Overall, while the shelter has good intentions and provides basic meals and shelter, living conditions and safety measures fall short, especially given the funding it receives.

I feel this place could use Extracurricular activities to help keep the people entertained and out of the heat. It’s too hot to be out side all day especially for the ones that are disabled!

Honestly...This place, I was was stuck in a bad spot and had limited options but I pushed on. They basically gave me a secure place to rest and get the help that I desperately needed. Not a judgement/ demeaning word or action was spoken to me. They Are truly a place of Hope! I Love the counselors/ staff and their selfless actions! God Bless them and the people behind the scenes making that place happen. Faith, Hope and Love! You find those three things at the Core of Pinellas Hope.
Your the best Shannon! Ya'll really rescued me in my time of need.

6 people died there in the last 30 days from the heat, please fix your system is it horrible we shouldn't be losing people and you guys didn't know they were dead in their tents!!!! Do not go there please! They treat it like a prison. BE KIND TO EVERYONE YOU MEET PLEASE ITS NOT HARD AND LIFE IS SO HARD ALREADY AS IT IS.

Was there for 6 months and they were a blessing. However they will not allow me to volunteer because of an 1994 arrest(no sex crimes) drugs and gun .How can u give me a place to stay and help me get permanet housing but prevent me from giving back by volunteering . Very hurt that i cannot repay.when priests commit serious crimes they are still priests.. Really sad i busted my butt when i was a client and showed what kind of person i even got a letter from the bishop when i was there.

Failure of a system, they don't take walk-ins, EVERYONE OF YOUR TENANTS WALKED IN OFF THE STREET. I wasn't given the option to enroll or nothing. I guess it's because Ill have a job soon and they WONT have control over me

I want to start off by saying I'm very sad to tell the truth this place is full of all kinds of bad unhealthy monstrous including the the person running the program they will throw yourself away steal your stuff and make it look like your fault because you don't get their mold!!! This place is rampant what things you don't want to be exposed to believe me unfortunately they threw away almost $8,000 worth of my stuff the same day I was kicked out supposed to be raining tools in my tent which he knew I had because you saw me work on my bike and others bikes that's neither here nor there so make sure people know the truth donations go to his staff before they go to anybody else in the camp and they have other ways of skimming money selling stuff that's donated to them and put it in their pockets 0 stay away unless they have fired him and hired somebody new

They helped my family members out when they were displaced. Changed their lives for the better. They allow you a chance to get on your feet. They have access to resources you need. Hope will help you but you have to help yourself. It isn’t a picnic sleeping in a tent with random people and the sounds they make in a tent next to yours.
