I have been seeing Dr. Cara Jakob for over a year, and am extremely pleased with the care I have received there. I find Dr. Jakob to be compassionate, kind, thorough, and listened to my every word. The instances when I saw her NP were positive, as well. In our present world of healthcare, I feel very fortunate to have found her.

We loved Dr Jakok's and her staff. During open enrollment for health insurance, I confirmed she was still in Network. It is even listed on her page she accepts it. My husband went for his yearly physical, ( they confirmed our insurance when they made the appointment)when he got there for his appointment, they said he would have to pay cash. The office manger explained to me and Cigna, Dr Jakob is no longer accepting it. She has a signed acontract with them. So disappointed that a health care provider we liked really doesn't care how she treats patients.

Been a patient of Dr. Jakobs are her Nurse practitioners for years. Never once had an issue like all the lower reviews. She's always been patient, listens and is 100% honest with you about anything and really knows her stuff. She doesn't put up with bullies and non-sense though. So maybe that's what all these lower reviewers are.If you're able to become a patient here. I highly recommend her!

Absolutely horrible doctor's office. If you want a Dr who cares, this isn't it. Dr Jakob, who is our PCP, refuses to see new patients, even if she is a our PCP. My husband had a gallbladder attack, still in pain and needs to see the doctor to get referrals for imaging. They refuse to bring him in for a sick visit because he isn't established with the office yet (even though this is his PCP office). They want him to wait 1.5 months before seeing him. Absolutely unacceptable. Horrible patient care. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH.

I went to this Doctor's office for the first time today. The level of caring received was hands down extraordinary. They went over all my health concerns in detail and left no stone unturned. Dr. Jacobs and her staff were very welcoming. I can feel that this staff/doctors really care about their patients. This was the first time that a doctor's office really wanted to hear my story. Overall, my experience at Total Family Healthcare today was above the rest. Thanks!

I have been Dr. Cara Jacob patient for around 2 years , have had several issues of disrespect, rudeness and incompetency from the staff, including the fact of withholding tests results and lying. Today I finally broke the nightmare of having to go to their office when Dr. Jacob denied seeing me, although I had an appointment specifically with her, IS NOT THE FIRST TIME SHE DOES THAT. The office Manager "Mark" was the worst of all, having the odyssey to block my way out from the examination room with his body pushing me back and speaking to my face, denying me my rights of getting my health records and screaming at me in the hallway. Worst experience in my 59 years of age in a Doctor's office. Avoid going there at all cost. They act as if you owe them a favor. When your insurance company pays hundreds or thousands of dollars to them for their service. WORST OF ALL!!! it takes for ever to get an answers, Dr. never return phone calls she is to busy for you...her patient! I had to go myself to the radiologist to get an answer. The one star is ONLY for Stacey Rivera the RN, who has always been sweet and kind.

This doctor has too many patients to handle, each time called in they get my conversation misconstrued. To get a call back days later saying something different from what I called about. Takes days to get answers, even then it’s not even a real answer.
A week ago I even went with my mother for a concern after a fall she had, their answer is we may never find out what happened. Any other office will say “we will do everything we can to find the cause”. Definitely do not feel comfortable and leaving this practice immediately!

I have been a patient of Dr. Jakob's for almost 2 1/2 years and I have never had a doctor treat me as well as she and her office do. I am always greeted in a very friendly manner, listened to and this office goes out of its way to make sure I fully understand symptoms, my options and that all of my questions are answered. I would highly recommend giving her a try.

Stacey (nurse practitioner) clarified miscommunication that occurred in the office. Glad I went back to see her. She is always pleasant to deal with.
Just wish they would do the virtual communication it would be so much easier than having to drive the 1/2 hour.

Wonderful people in this office! Kathy Lawrence is a great nurse practitioner and genuinely a kind person. They honestly care about your health and don't rush your appointment.

The one star is solely for the fact that a Dr that used to work there was excellent during my pap smear. Otherwise I highly recommend to not take the bad reviews lightly.
I should have known from my first instinct with Dr. Jakob and her staff were not going to be worthy of helping me take care of myself nor care to. During my first visit she was already eager to prescribe me two different meds and acted as if she knew my whole family history within ten minutes of talking. When she provided me referrals for a therapist they ended up either being only for children or for families, and that's if they answered. My visit with Dr. Stacey (who no longer works there....I wonder why) for my pap smear was the only time I felt comfortable, along with the nursing assistant. They were jovial, polite and didn't make me feel like I was asking a stupid question.
I only believe Dr. Jakob likes patients that can make her look good or that are okay with sub par performance and care. She does not spend enough time with her patients, and when I tried asking her a question she told me to hold with her finger pointed in the air so she could ask a final question to fill out on her laptop - and this was after a good minute of silence. You should not make your patient feel uncomfortable or a burden by asking a question. I also do not believe Dr. Jakob is capable of handling deeper medical issues, especially mental and emotional, and when I have broached the subject or concerns for my heart palpitations and pains in my left side of my body, she did not so much seem to take a second thought on what it could be or perhaps provide a referral to a specialist (if they would even be able to help/qualify for the need of course). Upon my last visit, she requested blood work but stated if my insurance could not cover it then to not get it, even when I did say I would like to get it done as it would be helpful to know more about my body and ensure nothing deeper is going on, she sternly again advised not to do it to further avoid any more debt (I made it clear upon 3 visits my primary medical issues were heightened by extreme stress and PTSD).
I then receive a letter in the mail stating that I would need to find another PCP a few days after the visit, which is a blessing in reality, no matter how distasteful it may have been.
The amount of unprofessional behavior exhibited by this office is unreal - the front desk is very curt both in person and on the phone and would only become expressive when it was with a male patient. They also would have their check in window wide open while they were speaking on the phones loudly to patients to inform them of their tests results (which is a HIPAA concern). The staff has had a turnover and all the good Drs/RNA's that worked there are gone (no surprise) and they are left with Dr. Jakob and another new doctor for mental health that each time I've witnessed him has seemed angry and slammed items for what reason, who knows.
Please, do not bother with this office.

A friend recommended Dr. Cara Jakob. Called this morning to make an appointment and the person who answered the new patient line was RUDE & HORRIBLE to deal with. All she did was argue. When I called back to speak to another person the same thing happened. I made an appointment then called back a few hours later and cancelled. If the office people treat people like that I can only imagine how the doctor treats people. Nobody deserves to be treated like that.
Do not recommend.
